Hello,

I am about to buy a new camera, and I can get one of these HD 100 used for ~1700€; is it still good to buy or should I buy one of these new Semi-Professional Panasonic or Sony models for <2000€.

Is the Picture still good on modern big Flatscreen TV's?

@Sido75288 : This video features some of the older HD camera's from JVC, but prices for the current HM750 and HM790 are ranging from 7.800 to 10.000 dollars.

For JVC's older ENG-style camera's (the GY-DVx00 and x000 series that record on tape) you paid around 5000 dollars for the camera head and recorder, a lens was not included in the deal (and given that most broadcast lenses cost around 2000 dollars or more you payed around 7000 dollars and up for the total package.)

OK. Cameras are for pictures, right? Camcorders are for videos, right? But what the hell the Canon 7D DSLR make HD videos betters that any Camcorder of HD around 6k to 8k and it only cost $2,129. And as a Videographer a need to pay 6K to 8k for a HD camcorder and it get worst, those camcorder are 1/3 CCD chip,the worst thing in low light situation. Check this video "Canon 7D movie - Another night in Beijing" This is proof that SONY,JVC & Panasonic only whant to F... Y.. until they can't no more.

Not trying to be mean, but can we get a HD option for this video? On my screen its a bit fuzzed out, and there's some AWESOME scenic views taken with this camcorder that I'd love to see in its natural HD format.

Or if someone knows where I can view this at in HD, please direct me to that location.

For me it cost $3,921..The camera is amazing, and plus since i'm taking a few film classes it came in at a perfect time :)

& i'm only 17 haha too bad this was my christmas present too.

I have purchased a used JVC pro GY 1/2 inch 3 ccd camera for $2,500.00 with only 100 hours on the drum meter,it had problems so I sent it in.

After spending $500.00 to JVC service on it ,19 hours later it had the same exact problem.I lost an big $ client that day .

Sent it back and was told they wanted another $200.00 to repair the same issue.

If they treat a pro camera this way how do you think they'll treat your $1,000.00 camera ?

Stay Far Away from ALL JVC products,you'll only get burned .

i have the jvc 250u HD for sale with 2 batt n charger antonbauer tripod and carring case for $12,000 i paid $15000 for everything i need money to go to film school. i bought it last november..only used in 1 video clip and 2 short films ....

Actually you can buy the GY HD 111 for €5k in Europe. It's a stunning camera to use, as I've just been using one, which has made up my mind to buy a couple. The 720p 25p format does have problems with editing-not supported by Avid. Far superior to 1080i though.
