  • My only problem with this as an atheist is although I can see it's GOT to be a joke (because baptism is meaningless if you were a baby & therefore had no choice) may theists can't understand this is a joke & therefore it reinforces the bogus assertion that atheism is a religion in itself which is nonsense, If not believing in gods is a belief then health is a type of illness!

  • @sitemountain Do you really think that there is much that one can do to convince the idiots that believe it *not* to believe it anymore?

I've probably explained why/how atheism isn't/can't be a religion thousands of times, but they're not really the type to listen to reason...

Some theists really believe that Pastafarians take the religion seriously, and honestly, I find that hilarious enough to not want to spell it out for them.

  • @palerider1775 'Do you really think that there is much that one can do to convince the idiots that believe it *not* to believe it anymore?'

Yes I do -avoid mock ceremonies like this. OK I agree many of the theist community will see atheism as a religion anyway however I see this kind of thing as counter productive because you are putting out the fire with gasoline.

Personally I don't even like to identify myself as 'an atheist' because even that gives them something to target -so why let them?

  • @sitemountain If you don't like to identify as an atheist, then why even worry about how silly theists see atheists and atheism? And if they're too stupid to understand parody, then I would personally care even less for what they think......

  • @palerider1775 Well I guess I want them to understand that people who don't believe in gods aren't confrontational. Ridiculing them is hardly likely to persuade them to question religion. That's what I'd like them to do & making fun of them is hardly likely to make them reconsider whether their beliefs are justified,

Perhaps you aren't that bothered what they think but I am & want to be as effective at altering their perspective as I can -even if it's unlikely -SOME theists DO become atheists.

  • @sitemountain If that's your preferred method then, fine.

Personally, I prefer to prompt some response, physiological and psychological. Any theist that gets "I'm going to prove this asshole wrong!" in their head is, in my opinion, on a good path. So many theists have this....apathy about their religion, and I find it unacceptable.

With the anti-science, anti-First Amendment theocrats on the march in this country, I wouldn't feel right just taking a soft atheist stance. That time is past...

  • @palerider1775 Well that 'I'm going to prove this asshole wrong!' attitude is precisely what will make them dig their heels in even deeper & resent secularism even more. I'd prefer to avoid that circumstance from arising.

  • @sitemountain [1] I guess I'm just kind of a firm believer that the large majority of people will only change their minds about something on their own terms.

If you're soft about it, the majority will not even notice it enough to care. And maybe a few will listen to what you're saying. If you're hard about it, the majority will just dig their heels in and disagree out of pride or some other stupid reason. Some? They'll go do some real research and either ignore any truth they find, or slowly-

  • @palerider1775 'If you're soft about it, the majority will not even notice it enough to care.' True but the majority aren't likely to listen anyway are they? No. But if you are soft about your approach a minority may listen because they do not feel like they need to fight their corner & as a result actually question their beliefs. I agree most won't anyway but a few can & do.

    P.S. Should I have replied:

    NO! YOU'RE F*%*IN' WRONG U LOOSER!!!!

    Would that have impressed you?

  • @sitemountain Nah. A succinct sequence of words spelling out exactly why their "god" is either *not* "good", or nonexistent, preferably using their very own scriptures, would do it.

  • @sitemountain [2] -start to open their eyes to the reality of things, and maybe start to deconvert, or go all deist on us.

Personally, I don't care all that much for others deconverting. What I really want is for them to at least be ridiculed into irrelevance, or into keeping the stupid stuff to themselves, or among like-minded bigots. I think creating an environment in which it is only safe for irrational, bigoted, nonsense beliefs to be shared anonymously is a good goal. :)

  • @sitemountain:

Yeah, but we can't really be responsible for crazy theists not getting the most obvious parody.

  • @MsHyde1 True but you ARE responsible for the parody. Is rubbing their nose in their irrationality rational? It's counter productive because it's just another way of 'pointing the finger'. By all means criticize faith but doing it THIS way isn't simple 'criticism' it's a form of demonization. I find it ironic that certain atheists of all people can be just as guilty of this as the theists! I prefer the Sam Harris approach: Watch

    /watch?v=ODz7kRS2XPs&list=FLfrz-dsZbbBf_URCa5aOpWQ&feature=mh_lolz

  • Fabulous, no better way to parody the stupidity of religion. this should be done regularly at meetings.

  • Using fire is better than a hairdryer. Just put yourself in it and stay there, that should do the trick.

  • I think i saw this guy while i was polishing my sword and chain-mail last week.

  • By watching this, do we need further proof that atheism is a religion.

  • @logicnreason1 If you'd actually watched it you'd have seen that it's a joke.

  • @logicnreason1 Errr... I see that irony is entirely lost on theists! - Do these people look like they take this 'ceremony' seriously in ANY way? Why are they laughing at their 'religion'?

  • @logicnreason1:

It's called a parody. He's using a freaking hair dryer, you genius. XD

  • I DO!!!

  • Life Creator = Unknown or "X"

School 6th grade mathematics would know that Science opened "X" for all suggestions and asked evidence to be provided for any elimination attempt

    So basically, suggesting:

X = External force usually referred as the "Creator" is legitimate until disproven with a solid evidence!

    However, others can suggest:

    X = Primordial soup

    X = Panspermia/Exogenesis

    X = Abiogenesis

Show your evidence that "God the Creator" should be eliminated off the list!

  • @extra222love Show your evidence that "God the Creator" has any right to be there in the first place. Show your evidence that the Flying Spaghetti Monster (may you be touched by his noodly appendage) should NOT be included.

  • @BurpTheKitten

    1) Science didn't concretely Xplain how Life started.

    2) Math equt'n, Life Creator = X, doesn't enforce any REASON in order to suggest X but REASON to disprove

    3) Life Creator = X, incorporates an action & actor, CAUSE & EFFECT.

    4) Forensic science & investigation puts all X's on the table then disproves with REASON.

    5) If Newton tried to solve, Apple Puller = X, by something visible! We would remain on HORSES today!

X = God the Creator is 100% valid until disproven with REASON!

  • @extra222love If you are talking about the God of Spinoza and Einstein, we have no argument. If you are talking about the Abrahamic God, then that ridiculous creature has already been 100% disproved with reason in the only way non-existence CAN be proved - by logical absurdity.

  • @BurpTheKitten

Spinoza's God is the 101 Athiesm, where it talks about God on surface but killing him underneath! Besides it's based on the concept of a self-existing universe which was proven wrong by science.

Existence is defined either by the physical appearance or by the effects on our physical world, no body had seen neither gravity nor electricity but we know it exists out of it's effects on our physical world.

  • @extra222love I suggest you go back to Atheism 101 then, as you don't seem to have grasped Spinoza's point at all. The self-existing Universe ahs NOT been 'proven wrong' by science, science is moving towards a purely materialistic explanation. Try Hawkings and Stenger for starters.

I have no idea what the point of your second para is.

  • @BurpTheKitten

In the same token, (and away from any religious derived definition), the "Creator", as defined by the word "creation" is found in the "creation" moments. The beginning of the Universe with the BigBang 13.7 Ga and the beginning of Life with Prokaryotic Cells 4 Ga are the proof of his existence. All Laws of Physics & Biology were broken at these very moments then natural evolution took over. This honest scientific analysis to what happened mandates the effects of a third party!

  • @extra222love No they are not. No laws of physics or biology have been broken. Cite sources if you think this is true. Again, I refer you to Stenger for at least one logical explanation.

  • @BurpTheKitten

"No they are not" ... I don't know how deep you're into this, but yes, they are!

At the BigBang moment, Universe volume was literally ZERO with infinite density. Then Matter emerged into existence breaking the Mass Conservation Law being initiated from "Nothing". Then a dynamic energy emerged too, Dark Energy, again from "NO WHERE" breaking the Energy Conservation Law, exploding the matter to result with the expanding universe we're living today. This is a "Creation".

  • @BurpTheKitten

Similarly, in order to build this FIRST Prokaryotic Cell 4Ga, the following steps had to be followed:

1- Producing Monomers (basic building block of organic materials) under reduced environment.

2- Monomers have to join "very carefully" to produce longer chains of Polymers.

3- Polymers have to undergo a very complex process to compose the RNA.

4- RNA must be programmed with EVOLUTION & REPRODUCTION functions, in order

to kick-start what so called LIFE. ... cont.

  • @BurpTheKitten

It's step # 1 only was experimentally proven by Miller-Urey expm't which proved that Monomers can exist "NATURALLY!". Steps, 2, 3 & 4 are not experimentally supported with what so ever evidence that it can take place "NATURALLY!" ... Ironically, the Nature always preferred the reverse process. Nature tends to dismantle RNA back to its Polymers then disintegrates the Polymers to their basic Monomers! This means, If it was Nature "ALONE" then Life would NEVER appear on this planet!

  • @BurpTheKitten

When Bobby Henderson introduced the "Flying Spaghetti Monster" in 2005 claiming it is the creator of the Universe & Life, in fact, assumed the existence of a "Creator" - Which I would agree in the abstract - but his fallacy was when he attached this "Creator" to such FSM image of which he had no proof the two "entities" coincide! Did he have a cup of coffee with the "Creator" in Starbucks?

It's the historical relentless efforts by humanity to figure out what God may look like!

  • @extra222love The whole point of the FSM is that he is a mirror held to the monotheistic religions. Every argument for the existence if Yahweh / God / Allah can be applied with exactly equal validity to His Noodliness. Theists often dismiss FSM as 'ridiculous' without realising the whole conception is just a satire of their own equally ridiculous beliefs.

  • I'm a Muslim ... But those guys mocking at Jesus saying "let's debaptise Jesus" realy made me feel hurt ... It realy showed me the disrespect side of atheism.

The first fruit! ... and by the way ... These guys are the farest from the "REASON" they're worshipping now.

  • They've just left Christianity, but is it really greener in the other side of the fence?

I need a proof, "empty" words are not welcomed!

  • Those hair dryers are crap - You get more hot air for your dollar at a Pentecostal Faith healing session and they don't even have hair dryers. I'm talking value for money here !!

  • Comment removed

  • Satire is suppossed to be funny, right? This is retarded. And if there is no God,then why do you even care what anyone believes?

  • lame.

  • @koyebahtdoelay Looking forward to it.

  • @koyebahtdoelay Blah blah

  • @koyebahtdoelay I sowed some Thyme seeds once - They never grew !!

  • im an atheist, and this is idiotic.

  • @patriotprilep It's suppose to be. They're just goofing around for laughs. Hence the laughs from the crowds.

  • I'm an athiest and a debaptism appears to be stupid.

  • atheism is the religion of non-readers. you can expect loony religious ceremonies, as it is with every other faith.

  • "Let us fight the evil establishment based on retarded rituals by starting our own establishment with our own retarded rituals."

Performing a debaptism implies that you believe baptisms have an effect to begin with, which sort of goes against the ideals of an atheist. Good going, retards.

  • @Surkis It's satire, but apparently that went right over your head, "retard".

  • @MidoriPeanut A lot of things go over my head while i'm in the missionary position with your mother OHHHHHH SICK BURN!

DON'T LISTEN TO ME I'M AN ASSHOLE

  • @Surkis - your mind does not compue sattire.

  • this is just retarded

  • I'm all for secularism and humanism, but I feel this presentation comes off as disrespectful. If a person wants to leave their faith, religion and church, that is a personal decision and not to be paraded around like this.

  • De-circumcision by staple-gun? Wouldn't Duck tape suffice? I'll have to see if my locals would be interested in doing something like this, and if anyone has a "holy hairdryer". It's a hoot!

  • I'm still trying to figure this out....ok I dont believe in a God, i think its BS. but i put myself thru a mockery of a baptism...a DE-baptisism. this is like when we held that anti-unicorn party, roleplaying as people killing unicorns. STUPID!

Why even use up time to undo something you think doesn't even matter or exist. You people who do this r extremely hurt in the head.

  • it all depends on the way you see god i see him as caring and passionate and also wise and his wrath is something to avoid but i dont go around say your going to hell for this that and the other. and i also dont like it as a Christian when other Christian go around condemning others thats not your job your not to place judgement on others if you were you'd be god stop being so closed minded and respect others thats why no one gets along these days theres no respect of another's word

  • guy looks like Dumbledore :p

  • atheist are the stupidest people in the world

  • why bother if you don't believe in GOD anyway this is so stupid

  • im sorry you are all traitors to god and are going to hell

  • this video is the stupidest thing ive seen on youtube

  • You do De-Burkasions ?! O.o Just asking

  • Is there such an organization that holds a-astrology, a-alien, a-paranormal, a-occult, a-flat earth, non-immaterial or most importantly A-moral conventions? What is it about the God question that taunts the unbeliever, an intellegint 1st cause to explain why we have a rationally intelligible universe defined by immaterial, unchanging laws and physical constants that fit within absurdly narrow life-permitting values? Flawed or idolatrous religions arent proof of God's non-existence. think again!

  • @dashan091 Most of us don't claim to be able to disprove the existence of all gods, just that there is no evidence suggesting that there are any. The gods that we can disprove are the ones with internal logical contradictions or don't fit with observations. There are many things that "taunt" us, including but not limited to childhood indoctrination, threats/punishments for not believing, willful ignorance, and promotion of pseudoscience.

  • @dashan091

And if a puddle were able to think it might think that the hole it's in is perfectly suited to it's needs and must have been made just for him by some benevolent deity. Doesn't make it true. Step outside your puddle for a second Dashan091.

  • I wish I was there, looks like fun. I never get to have fun like this.

  • I lol'd so hard. This is epic.

  • That was funny!

  • doesn't seem constructive.

    almost as bad as religion.

  • @MirageScience

what you didn't notice is that they're making fun of themselves as well... if they start taking this shit seriously the yeah we have a problem

  • LOL ......can you sew it back on?

we do have a staple gun handy...." XD

  • @zodiakranch

why don't they just get a new one ;P

  • SANTAN

  • They look like they're havin a good ol' time. Yes, it is mocking baptism. But baptism doesn't deserve the respect that people seem to think it does. Baptism doesn't do any good, because a person could still turn out to be a real piece of shit even if they were baptised.

  • @MetalxXxMayhem That's exactly why this video is so fucking gay.

  • This is funny, looks like you were all having alot of fun, wish I could have been there.

  • Question:- If you don't believe in God, why are you dressed like a monk?

Question:- If you don't believe in God and thus assume that baptism is just a meaningless cerimony, why the need to debaptise? And who gave you the authority to debaptise?

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH Once again, the joke goes over someone's head.

  • @PandyFackleresque Oh I see now- Ha Ha. Pretty feeble attempt at a joke though. Actually looks pretty ridiculous.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH well, baptism is pretty ridiculous too, so to mock it properly it makes sense to mock all the trappings of ceremony.

  • @TheOrganicartist If you people believe that baptism does not work in the first place, then why the need to de-baptise? And why the need to mock baptism?

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH : you're just not getting it.... There is no NEED to de-baptise. It's funny and thus we who get the joke get a little burst of dopamine, the neurochemical that makes you happy. And it's not mocking all baptism, it's mocking their own baptism and the crazy people who dragged them through religion (mental rape) when they were young. Understand now? Watch the video again but PAY ATTENTION TO THE WORDS. Also there was free juice and jesus biscuits! who'd refuse that? hehehe

  • @TheOrganicartist Actually it is all pretty fucking pathetic.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH well, that's how we feel about your religion, I think you finally may have gained some understanding. Good for you! You CAN be taught! YAY. =D

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

it's not a NEED... they are gathering with LIKE MINDED PEOPLE and having fun what's the harm?

  • @Leadman1989 If this is their idea of fun then it just shows they have a feeble lack of imagination.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

yeah unlike your idea of fun which is sitting in a church and praising god which may or may not exist... and if he does going to a heaven and praising him 24/7 nonstop for ETERNITY

    sounds FUN

  • @Leadman1989 Who said going to church was fun?

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

so you don't like praising god?... heaven is gonna be a bitch for you

  • @Leadman1989 I did not say I don't like praising God. I just said it is not supposed to be fun.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

you LIKE some thing that's not fun really? that doesn't make any sense besides isn't it supposed to be a joy to serve him and if you're joyous you're gonna like it would be fun... unless you're only doing it because you don't want to go to hell which seems likely

  • @Leadman1989 Joy is serving God and your fellow man. Fun is going to a football game or going to Disneyland. Don't confuse the two.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

fun, joy, happiness, are all the same thing you can't have JOY without having FUN and you can't have either without HAPPINESS... don't try to obfuscate things with pathetic semantics

so the questions remains you don't find church fun so you're doing it out of a feeling of obligation... am i right? and if you feel obligated it's only because you want to go to heaven... or better yet YOU'RE AFRAID OF HELL and that to me isn't true faith or JOY

  • @Leadman1989 Ok then, yes going to church is Fun. Happy now?

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

i was happy to begin with... don't let my REASON ruin your delusion, but you do remember why we're having this conversation right?

and i have a sneaking suspicion that you aren't being honest you know that's a sin right? LOL

  • @Leadman1989 No I don't really remember why we are having this conversation. I guess you and I will have to agree to disagree. I am not sure what you mean when you say I am not being honest. Guess we will only know the truth when we have departed this mortal world. If I am wrong then I will never know. If you are wrong then you are in for a heap of shit.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

ugh that's what we call a FALSE dichotomy if you're right about your god you go to heaven and i go to hell... BUT what if the HINDUS or the MUSLIMS are right what if one of the 1000's of other gods YOU DON'T WORSHIP is the ONE TRUE GOD? you'd be in as much trouble as i would... and don't you think an all knowing god would KNOW that you are just hedging your bets and pretending to believe in him just to get in heaven? and if you actually believe what if you have the wrong religion?

  • @Leadman1989 You may have a point here. If the Hindus are right I may indeed be in for a rude awakening. If the Muslims are right then I am pretty safe, because as you know, being an expert on religion, the Muslim God and the Christian God are one and the same.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

3 (i'll give you judaism as well) out of 1000's you must be a gamblin' man... thor, mars, jupiter, venus, neptune,

this is a link to a long list... of the TYPES of gods and the list of gods themselves are very long choose wisely they all have EQUAL chance of existing and sending you to HELL

    lowchensaustralia(dot)com/names/gods(dot)htm

  • @Leadman1989 For someone who does not believe in hell you seem determined to see me go there.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

sandwich im just telling you your ACTUAL chances of having been BORN in the right PLACE at the right TIME to the right PARENTS to have the ONE TRUE GOD as YOUR GOD... and all the people that didn't happen to have such luck are doomed to eternal suffering just for not believing in something that gave them no evidence to begin with

I know you're not gonna change because of anything i say but the least i can do is stimulate thoughts and questions

  • @Leadman1989 Deadman you don't need to stimulate my thoughts and questions. I do ponder daily the wonders of the universe and the world we live in. Is not the universe itself evidence of something greater than ourselves?

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

clever... ok so you're a deist? cause even if the universe is evidence of something greater you still have 1000's and 1000's of "something greater" to choose from that's if the human race even has any knowlege of what that something is and chances are we don't

but the universe is evidence of THE UNIVERSE how is it evidence of something greater? there's plenty we don't know about the universe but nothing that in ANYWAY points to a god that cares for or about us

  • @Leadman1989 No I am not a deist. So what is your answer to the creation of the universe? Bing Bang? Yes I know all that but what came before?

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

You're not a deist so not only are you saying you know that there's "something greater" you're saying you have specific evidence to prove that that something is your particular god ok where is it and NOT the bible it can't prove itself...

what if i don't believe in the big bang? what if i don't have any of those answers? what's worse NOT KNOWING? THINKING YOU KNOW WHEN YOU DON'T? or PRETENDING TO KNOW?

  • @Leadman1989 No I don't have any evidence that there is something greater out there but then again neither do you have evidence to prove otherwise. Remember it is not me who is trying to convince you, it is you who is trying to convince me. Must go now as I, unlike some others, do have a life.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

sandwich i'll give you the benefit of the doubt and tell you how the BURDEN OF PROOF WORKS

    1. you say there's something greater out there

    2. i say i don't believe that because there's no evidence

    3. you then have to provide evidence to support YOUR CLAIM of "THERE'S SOMETHING GREATER OUT THERE"

    4. now if i said I KNOW THERE'S NOTHING out there then i would have to provide evidence but that is impossible

it's the same reason i don't have to prove that santa doesn't exist

  • @Leadman1989 WHAT? Santa is not real? It has been a pleasure debating with you. Wish you all the best.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

where's your evidence that santa isn't real?

  • @Leadman1989 I will let you into a little secret. I am Santa.

  • @Leadman1989 What do you want for Christmas?

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

you only shoulder the burden of proof when making POSITIVE, FAITH BASED CLAIMS

if i said I had a locked box with pixies in them then you would say SHOW ME if i couldn't it would be reasonable for you to say I DON'T BELIEVE YOU... it wouldn't take any faith on your part to not believe my outlandish claim

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

and for some reason im always tempted to read your name as sandwhich of truth lol

  • @PandyFackleresque

People are laughing at the atheists not with them :D.

  • @acceptjesusorburn the whole room is atheist, and we are laughing at you Christians

  • @acceptjesusorburn.... is that a threat??? sounds like one

  • @PandyFackleresque Seems the Truth has gone over yours.

  • @PandyFackleresque

very sad and stupid joke and it will turn against the ppl 1 day soon, GOD will not be mocked be sure of that

  • @hannahr77 Nothing like worshiping a vengeful father-figure...

  • @PandyFackleresquea father will be a father

  • @hannahr77 If god didn't want to be mocked then he shouldn't have grown a cock on his forehead.

    : )

  • @AtheismFTW1988

you should know because your made in his image congrat my dear lost friend

  • @hannahr77 Don't feel bad for me <333333 I find your pity quite insulting.

  • @AtheismFTW1988

1 day your going to need some 1 to pity you for sure and then you'll find it quite insulting if some 1 doesn't pty you

  • @hannahr77 Im sorry i just don't like people who suffer with religious psychosis pitying me,

I pity you for you suffer from a mental illnes like all theists do. RELIGIOUS PsyChOsiS........

  • @hannahr77

Funny, there's never been any god or gods seen or heard protesting-just upset people making claims about " god will (or will not) be xxxx" and that is as easy as opening one's mouth (or keyboard).

  • @PandyFackleresque but the joke is a fail, its ina a way a stab @ people who do believe. but its like uhhh "huh? thats madd random!" i'm a True Christian, and i will laugh @ even a satanist joke lol i done give a freak. but this is just not entertaining i guess.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH the best part of blasphemy is you don't need to be given authority to do it.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH mocking the religion is what he is doing...

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH Lol, the same authority that gives priests the authority, themselves.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH: This comment is one of the most perfect examples why we should get rid of the religious mentality.. and they're the one saying we atheists should not take things literally! LOL

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

Sands, it's people like you that make this joke funny. If everyone got it then it would just be a mass hairstyling.

It's good that you ask questions, but I want you to know that is a slippery slope for religious people. If you don't know when to stop you might find yourself an atheist.

  • @Mugulord Always happy to keep people amused. Not sure I understand the "mass hairstyling" reference. Is this some sort of secret athiest talk?

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH question, do you not realize that this is a joke and not hear people laughing in the background. question, why would a christian watch this in the first place.

  • @RowlandJosh A joke always has a punch line and then you are supposed to laugh. I realise this is supposed to be a joke, but failed to see the humour of it. Why would I watch this? I like to see what morons get up to in their spare time.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH so the people who believe in science and facts are morons and people who believe in an invisible force controlling the universe taking away free will are geniuses. makes sense.

  • @RowlandJosh No, but people who have nothing better to do with their spare time are.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

there is a need for a debatism because the catholic church has blocked our right to ask not to be part of their business. Its more of a way to spread awareness about this policy than it is to actually have a ceremony about not being baptized. It is also an important step for some individuals leaving the church to find that they can confide in people and not only god.

  • @holliesher What??? What the fuck are you talking about? Blocked your right? And you people say we live in a dream world!!

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

You need to actually examine a person's claims before flying off the handle like this.

The Catholic Church no longer accepts defections from members who wish to officially leave the church. Many of these people do so because they want to join another church, some because they don't want to be part of the records and contact lists.

The Vatican has suspended this right. Officially. I can't be removed from the Church if I want to, they won't allow it.

  • @DrCaseybear I am not too sure where you people pick up your "facts!". I know of a lot of people who have left the Catholic church without any recriminations. You will find that the Catholic church's policy is actually to respect all religions.

  • @SANDSOFTRUTH

    Countmeout.ie

I think you're right about respecting other religions, at least as their official policy. I never claimed otherwise, in fact my home church welcomed visitors of other faiths who were interested in observing. And while people may "leave" the church they are no longer allowed to strike themselves from the records by official defection, which means something about the nature of the organization, even if it isn't actually a big deal.

  • @DrCaseybear why respect a faith that supports every immoral thing that is known.

  • @FutureScience2012

Oh, I'm not in the business of respecting faiths without good reason, and I don't respect this institution. However, the current position of the Catholic church is to respect other faiths and I've found that to be true, that is what I said. I'm not a Catholic but I was, so that's my source of information.

  • and to all you sinning athiests out there, kneeling down in a big room listening to someone in expensive and elaborate robes talk about humility and an invisible guy is never a waste of time

  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinions , but just know this God has the power to show you who God is ! You have the choice to believe or not to believe. We don't have the power or the right to tell you what to believe , I can't judge you either , the only thing i can say to you is I hope that you make the right decision before it's too late.

  • @sunnirayne82 God sure is taking his sweet time on showing me his mysterious powers of conversion.

  • @PandyFackleresque luckily I was never baptized! Yay for me!! :) But would still be fun to be de-baptized!!!

  • @sunnirayne82

If God has the power to show me who he is, then he'd better get on with it. I'm not going to wait forever.
