This is why I do not swim in the sea when I go on my hols to W coast Florida! Was at Naples pier last Nov and fishermen with little rods were bringing in baby sharks- mummy must be nearby I figure! Going to Boca Grande this year

I surf ski off Boca Grande all the time. I once had a shark follow me for about a half hour. he just hung about 20 yards off my rudder.

Sorry to see that happen to you, dude. I was helping some kids fish and their Catfish was hit by a snapping turtle. I had to hit the turtle before he would let go. Heartbreaking to loose the fish.
