  • I much prefer the UK one to be honest.. I love british Comedy;D.

  • I think the UK version is much better than the American, I love British humour and I think Richard Hammond does a great job. :)

  • In every episode of this the host says "Best/greatest/most extraordinary obstical course ever" ... Those ptresenters have obviously never seen takeshi's castle

  • nah, i still prefer the British one to the american one

  • Awesome! And I totally agree. I don't hate the BBC version but it is too slow paced. I usually don't like any US game shows, mainly because I think they're always super dramatic and slightly fake, but their version of wipeout made me laugh so much more than ours. It sucks in comparison and you can make excuses like 'British comedy is different' but that doesn't explain the nauseatingly slow commentary and the camera concentrating on one person for seemingly half an hour. I wish it was like this!

  • i prefer the old version

  • .. Please help me..

*begs :P * I wanna find the opening theme song But I can't find it!

    Can Anybody help me?

  • LOVE HAMMOND.

    American total wipeout sucks.

  • @musicmaniagirl08

in my opinion, you are soo right

  • LOVE HAMMOND.

    American total wipeout sucks.

  • whats the name of song with flute??

  • supeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer zaan magaria.

  • does anyone actually knows what this song is called?:D

  • You may call someone "thick" or "stupid" when you learn how to spell or how to use grammar. Until then don't comment on our videos.

  • I've seen the US version now and to be honest they're about the same in terms of the competition. The only real difference is the presenting style, the american version seems more dramatic and serious, whereas, thanks mostly to the legend Richard Hammond, the UK version is more light hearted and sarcastic. So it depends which presenting style you prefer. Yes the British version may be slower paced, but thats probably because it's a BBC show with no comercials.

  • Exactly right. Hammond is right for the job!

  • I love the Australian and American Wipeout's...it's funny though, today I watched a repeat of Total Wipeout on BBC 1 and it was *so* slow and serious in comparison. I've heard there'll be a second series and even a celeb version so I hope the whole format/presenting gets revamped. Srsly.

  • It's not serious at all.. If you actually think when they do the thing before the wipeout zone about how winning means everything to them is not simply staged, you're incredibly nieve.

The English version just takes the piss out of competitors.. How is it serious?

  • americans don't get most british sarcasm, irony etc..

  • sorry that was harsh.. what i mean is that in america, tv seems to employ slapstick sound effects and comments to make it light hearted, over here we prefer to dryly take the piss out of them as they do the course and be slightly sarcastic about it all, it sounds mean but thats what makes it light hearted.. that and richard hammond is amazing

  • Well I personally prefer British humour, being a Brit myself, but I dunno, with a physical gameshow such as this I prefer the 'obvious' bits of humour. But at least there's kinda different versions of the same format for people to like the best. :)

  • true that :P

  • i would love if Total Wipeout had the same intro style and theme as US Wipeout

"20 Men and Women from all across the UK competing in Buenos Ares, Argentina in the strangest, toughest, obstacle course on television, all leading up to the wipeout zone where only one man or woman will be our Total Wipeout Champion and take home our 10,000 pound cash prize. Who will win and who will face - TOTAL WIPEOUT"

  • yeah i prefer the american version as well, but i havent seen much of the british version yet, so i'll watch it when it comes on and see,

also, i dont think much can top jacob mann's wipeout XD

  • Good job, I think you've done some really good work here.

  • I'm not criticizing either one..but I noticed how American shows have to be made so dramatic for them to find it entertaining o_O

  • which is odd in this case as the american version is much more light hearted and ours tries to be more dramatic :s

    what?!

  • Ours doesn't try to be dramatic, it mocks the dramaticness, American programs are constantly hyping up.

  • i think its gr8 but they need to vary it more like the course, and maybe add celebs??? or summat like that

i havent seen the american version so i cant comment on that

  • I prefer the British version its way funnier

  • its just my opinion but, i prefer the british one

it's probably the british humour, hammond is a legend (H)

  • That's how it should be done! I spent Saturday night watching the American version on YouTube and couldn't stop laughing. The BBC need to get Hammond a co-host to do a bit of banter or SOMETHING, the UK version is quite..mediocre. :(

  • i agree. it'd be better if i hadn't already seen how great the american version is. it just puts ours to shame.

  • what is the american version anyway, i cant find it.

  • that makes it look like any other american shit

  • As opposed to any other English sh*t? That's over serious for no reason and filled with sob stories (like Total Wipeout was).

Also, this was American "sh*t" to start with. Me thinks you need to watch the original before casting opinions.

  • Give me one sob story on total wipeout. What the hell are you talking about? Do your research before you speak complete and utter bullshit. This advert made the show look far more serious than it is. I bet you havent even watched the show becuase you couldnt talk more bull shit. The show is funny and not serious whatsoever. Since when does the original show somehow affect a different one made by completely different people? Torchwood is a spin off of Doctor Who but they are completely different.

  • America is the master of seriousness over something that is trying to be entertaining. If you watched 5 mins of the british version of this show, you would realise what a retard you are being. 'Also, this was American "sh*t" to start with. Me thinks you need to watch the original before casting opinions.' Me thinks you should realise that however bad the american series was, it has no affect on the british one. God, retards piss me off.

  • ... LOL

  • well lol to you too. i am right though :)

  • No, I just didn't want an argument at all, let alone on YouTube. Only retards do that :)

I did see Total Wipeout, and I thought it was no where near as good as the American original.

Okay, there were no 'sob' stories as such, but interviewing the contestants to find out "I really need to win this, blah blah etc etc" was totally unneeded.

  • Richard Hammond (/his script writers) also wasn't funny at all.

I just have to look at the American version for 30 seconds to realise how funny that is and how bad Total Wipeout is in comparison. That's all.

Obviously you can have your own opinion, but I, and a LOT of other people, think that the American series completely beats ours hands down.

    Thanks :)

  • i admit that i ... overeacted, but i have seen the american version and to be honest, it isnt funny at all! The british one is, but that is just my opinion.

  • def better

  • Total Wipeout - because Craig Charles was busy doing something else.

The show would be better if they got Jeremy Clarkson to commentate with Richard Hammond, but it just falls flat.

  • @jordanhass Yeah, that'd be funny. RH: Let the games begin! JC: SSSSSHHHHHHHUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTT UUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPPP, HHAAMMOONNDD!
