@ everyone else - Yep, the keyboard can be awesome. It takes a bit to figure out, but there are forums with layout suggestions if you don't want to go from scratch. Personally, I love my keyboard setup.
@saphirbln - As long as people still remember Descent and all of its fazzarawrz... and Freespace. Not to mention that the name "Descent" sounds cooler, in my opinion, than "Miner Wars," blah... well, we'll just have to wait and see.
descent fans watch out for MINER WARS. it will be a new descent clone, if you want to call it like that. it looks amazing with the latest graphics and descructable environment. :)

After watching this, I remember thinking that the primary and secondary weapon switching sound effects in Descent 2 were the best in the series. There's no question that Descent 3 was superior in terms of graphics and effects. But there were still several characteristics that I wish would've been carried over from D1 & D2.
Of course, that old argument comes up almost every time another sequel is released for a modern game.

wow keyboard? what controls? ad im on level 3 atm cus i oinly have the demo version lol, but i found a secret where theres a sparkling red wall inside, and u can fly through it into a box made up of these wierd walls but after that nothing :S any ideas?

@ST3V342 I don't know. I always played with the keyboard. I assume that some of the better joysticks had enough buttons so that you wouldn't need to use a keyboard anymore, but I could be wrong.
I hate the Thiefbot They are so annoying I played this game and I was pretty good (not as good as this guy) but whenever I was up against the Thiefbot He would steal everything from me I could'nt kill the thiefbot if my life depended on it. I would always get my older brother to do it And He Was Good
I would always try to kill it before doing anything else. I'd find a narrow tunnel with one way out, drop mines and sit waiting for him then blast him. He was so quick, but much easier to deal with when he didn't have room to run.
i'm not really sure why this game hasn't been an inspiration to others. even D1 was very well thought out, D2 even more so, and D3 was even more well done (especially since D3 is the only one that is windows based). sure the controlling may be a bit more than some ppl are willing to handle but this is where true skills and fun come from
All most forgot. Descent 3 is well worth it in my opinion. Also if you want to see the game in action. I have a group called 360 Spin on YouTube. There's a bunch of Descent 3 videos that other people have put together.

@dolores49 I always get helix on lvl 2, it makes the whole campaign easier. People always tell me they cant figure out how to get it but you can get a full map on that level, so I don't know how it could be hard to figure out... I'm glad someone else gets the helix on lvl 2.

Haven't played D1 or D3 though; I have the PS1 version of this and it's nowhere near as good as the PC one.
