Highway speed is bullshit. My car opperates at 33 mpg at 80 and 29 mpg @ 65. It has to come down to final gear ratios and that crucial point where your engine is working most efficiently and being wasteful b/c by the time i get up to 90 i'm back down to 29 mpg again. So its all about finding that sweet spot, but all cars are different. MOST DON'T run as efficient at 65, its just a proven fact.

MPG has nothing to do with the fact that all gas tanks become inevitably empty and the gas it once contained had still conjured and spout carbon dioxide. Limiting the amount of emissions is a lot more complex than simply increasing the distance you may travel by implicating driving habits into a formula. If leaving a "carbon footprint" was of serious concern, you would ride a bike through a 30 mile commute and not cut corners in a vehicle by acting like you understand what the world needs most.

nope has nothing to do with obd 1 or 2 i thas to do with the od in the manual is typicly .5:1 while od in a a/t is .8:1 newer 5-6speed a/t get the same mpg as the manuals highway but still suck on the city since you lose some enegry to the t/c. second factory presets are rich a/f get a tune the presets are for all altitudes and baro since to lean can damage the engine. pluse you will gain hp and economy. you will same more mpg that way then any change in driving habits

...the more u weigh the less milage u get theres jus no way around it thats why hondas get such good gas milage CAUSE THEY WEIGH NOTHING LOL thats also why there so quick off the line... but seriously if ur car is a 94' and under it doesnt matter how fast u drive over 60 u get damn close to the same milage IF UR STOCK ... I apologize in advance for how nerdy this is about to get: there has been a lot of scientific research on the force of drag (i.e. wind resistance). A simple equation shows that the drag force is proportional to the square of the velocity, so if you think you're getting the same mpg anywhere between 50 and 110, you've GOTS to take yourself a physics course, gets you some edumacation! Oh, and stopping fast uses more gas because the opposite of stopping fast is coasting, which uses less gas. : )
