They brought back the Italian & French chicken sandwiches at the Burger Kings in the San Fran area! And the one nearest to my house has buy one get one free for any of those chicken sandwiches. FUCK YES
They got the Italian & the American at the ones here in NY. I ask about the French one every now & then but they still haven't brought that one back here. In the ones here, the Italian one goes & comes very frequently & is on the menu most of the time even when not advertised.
Burger vs MacDonalds, based on price and taste I have always prefered MacDonalds! I mean here in the UK right at this second I can buy two Cheese Burgers in MacDonalds for the same price as on Cheese Burger at Burger King. The Burgers are basically the same so why would I buy one from Burger King?
It depends on the BK location, but many of them have them. The one closest to me had the Italian one for a long time, then lost it for a few weeks until they brought it back. And they also brought the American one back too recently. I really want the French one back also. I loved that chicken-ham combo (like a cordon bleu sandwich minus the bleu cheese). Ask your BK if they have them because they may be on the menu without you knowing. At least the American & Italian.
My mother used to always get us the Italian one in the 80's the first time they had it. But I heard back then it may have been a veal Parmesan sandwich (don't know if it's true). Damn, I feel like having one now, but I can't since I just had an appendectomy & whatever I'm eating is coming right out (very annoying).
@wtcvidman That's harsh, man. Hope you get better. Italian was my favorite as well. I'd order two of them with some large onion rings and a Dr Pepper! Just thinkin' about all this makes me wanna go to BK now. Best burger place in my opinion!
Thanks. I've been having those bathroom problems that happen for about a week or 2 every month since May. I'm hoping it was all related to the appendicitis & is gone after this.
I love BK's Whopper. My 2nd favorite burger after Roy Rogers' Double R burger. Red Robin has some pretty good burgers too, but those are harder to find in the NY area. Ground Round was also good but they're all gone from here (last one I went to was in Maine on vacation).
@wtcvidman We have a Red Robin in town, but have never eaten there. Maybe I'll go on the weekend. I like the Texas Whopper and the BK Stackers as well as the Angus Burgers! I always order them King size! I wish we had a Roy Rodger's place. That just SOUNDS like they'd have good burgers!!
They still have these sandwiches in the Caribbean...I always get the French Sandwich here in Puerto Rico. A lot of people are unaware of the fact that the menu varies so much from one region to another. Over here, Burger King is ran by Caribbean Restaurants LLC...gotta love the West Indies :)
Awww man, I miss these sandwiches. I used to work at BK when I was in high school and would always order one of these on my break. My fave was the American.
The one by me brought the American chicken sandwich back. I had one in the spring or late winter. The one by me also has had the Italian one for a long time. It disappeared for a few weeks & came back. I'd love the French one to be brought back. That one was great too, probably my 2nd favorite after the Italian one. All 3 of them are good.
@wtcvidman There is one BK by me that still carries these as well. Perhaps because this particular BK is in a mall idk? They only carry the American and the Italian. My guess is the French sandwich is too expensive to make due to the added cost of the ham. As far as the American sandwich goes, you can basically get any BK to custom make it for you - Order an original chicken sandwich and tell them to add cheese and tomato. Most will do it without a problem.
Yeah, the one near me carries those 2 also. I'd love the French one to come back. Man, ham makes sandwiches taste so much better. Which is why I like Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwiches (Quick Chek makes huge CCB sandwiches that are delicious) and the Double R at Roy Rogers, which is a hamburger with ham & cheese on top that you could put lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, etc from the Fixins Bar on along with ketchup, BBQ sauce, horseradish, mustard or mayo on.
righ now these are buy one get one free...i am so gonna fuck these up...

Isn't it redundant to have an American option for international sandwiches?

They do use Swiss Cheese for the Chicken Cordon Bleu after all, as far as I remember.
