  • 謝謝Steve

  • I miss you, Steve. Thank you.

  • You've got to admit that Jobs played a major role in getting computers to catch on with the general public.

  • Steve Jobs FOREVER!

  • Steve Jobs you changed the world for the better. Yore innovation and Inspiration has affected us all. You were and still are one of my heros. and I thank you for being apart of this place we call earth.

  • RIP Steve Jobs, October 5, 2011.

  • WE MISS YOU, STEVE!

  • The greatest thing about these 80s corporate anthems floating around on YT is the high production values and the amount of effort put into them. Just like Wendy's, the 80s Apple did take their corporate song seriously.

  • EIGHTIES FOREVER!

  • Comment removed

  • Whenever I see this video, I think of my dearly departed Apple IIe... man, if only I hadn't tried to install that SCSI card. :'(

  • I Woz there!!

  • I woz there!!

  • Just Brilliant, I wish that new tech was not for lazy people.

  • c64 pwnd the apple 2, and the weirdos who used it.

  • @c0deMunkey Newfag

  • 80s music and apple just couldnt get any better

  • This is what is known as "Industrial Music." Not the kind with clanging metal and spooky vocals, but music produced specifically for a company.

This particular video was created to show to Apple sales people, to reassure them that although Macintosh was a huge deal, Apple was going to keep the Apple II product line going. (They did finally stop selling Apple II around eight years later.)

This song is not the "worst" example by any stretch of the imagination. Search "MS-DOS 5 RAP"

  • Man, where are you finding these videos? I haven't seen this in decades! I recorded the music and vocals at my studio in Burbank, CA. Jill Colucci was the vocalist on the session. Keep 'em coming!

(PS: We also did the 1984 Mac introduction video.)

  • @MediaPDX Hi Steve - I have a family extensive archive from my days as an Authorized Apple Dealer from 1978 to 1989. I sent you a YouTube email, with my regular email address for you to use in your reply. I want to schedule you on my talk show to chat about these recording sessions. I also have an Email to Lorraine as well. TTY soon - Alfred.

  • @adiblasi I feel honored to be in the comments presence.

  • 1:00 just discovered internet porn...

  • 12 people got a Macintosh instead.

  • We have an Apple II that my dad bought in 1979 to use Visicalc at home.

Nearly 32 years later, and it still fires up and works just like it did brand new. Now that's quality.

  • I'm thinking Bonnie Tyler here.

  • @tappo

Don't know what you wanted to proof. But S-100 was never ever a computer, it was only a bus system. I guess you wanted to refer to mits 8800 or Altair 8080. Those were not PCs in our current understanding! Or do you think 400 Byte RAM, Keyboard missing, no screen ( oh ok there were like 21 LEDs). And at the beginning no operating system! ( Bill Gates first business was to code one together with Paul Allan)

So Apple 1 was definitely the first Microcomputer which had all the parts a PC had

  • @Bildungsrebell Apple 1 lacked screen, keyboard AND power supply unit

  • @Bildungsrebell CP/M was used on S-100 machines. While Gates and Allen had ported BASIC to the Altair, operating system wise people were running CP/M by Gary Kildall and his company Digital Research (not to be confused with Digital Equipment Corporation). Microsoft bought a CP/M clone to make PC-DOS after IBM had a hard time licensing CP/M from DR.

S-100/8080 wasn't as simple as ISA/8086, but it was a standard and the machines were all running a common OS before the IBM PC and Apple I.

  • i wish i was a mac user from the start =_= but at least i am now !!!!

  • They lied. Jobs killed the two series. I don't buy apple products anymore.

  • Disgusting pablum for morons. This video totally reinforces my hatred of all things apple.

  • Rofl.

  • This has to be my favorite song

  • This song should be on Rock Band! Thumbs up if you agree!

  • I think I just threw up a little!

  • Great pictures in this! It's a piece of history!

  • where can i buy one?

  • This is so bad it's awesome.

  • @muskypucker that was more a comment that you could, really. It's not like you can play Team Fortress 2 on a Apple II :p

  • This is so 80s!! Love it!

  • god that song is cheezy..

  • APPLE III at 3:11!

  • CUPERTINO PRIDE!!!

  • I feel scared to old shitty Apple Computer logo 0:20 (a guy on the apple tree

  • This is also before Macintosh!

  • I prefer MSX...

  • Appe has nothing on Amiga!

  • i love this song!, i'm too much of a fan boy...

  • This sounds almost just like Bonnie Tyler.. Can anyone confirm if it's her or not?

  • Apple II Forever and Ever!

  • aahhm i really don't know why it's so hard to find some cool guys on you tube!

  • *COUGHxeroxCOUGH

  • @Aqwert76 yeah...poor xerox didn't realize how cool their technology was until apple popularized it. At least apple was rightfully taking their technology because xerox didn't want it.

  • Apple came a long way. I LOVE APPLE!

  • So the Apple IIe was BEFORE the Apple IIc?

  • @Ffiti2 Yep!

  • IT'S NOT ON ITUNES?!?!?!?!?!?!? *gag*

  • Apple should put this on iTunes

  • I totaly agree with you, HHGF...

  •  ][ forever!

  • My opinion....PC but hey, just my opinion.

  • @Geno11116 The PC didn't exist when the Apple II was first introduced.

  • @tapo The Apple 1 was the first ever personal computer, so you mean windows pc

  • @thatapplegeek Not Windows PC. IBM PC which set the standards of using PC-DOS (which became MS-DOS, then Windows) x86, and BIOS.

When you mean "personal computer" as a generic term, that's still a little sketchy. The Apple I was a hobbyist kit and not a real, ready-out-of-the-box computer, like most were at the time. There was an open standard, the S-100 bus/Intel 8080 running CP/M that many people had as personal computers 3 years before the Apple I came out.

  • @tapo PC-DOS and MS-DOS where two different product-lines based on the same source code

  • @sundhaug92 MS-DOS was released so Microsoft could license the same OS to clone manufacturers. After a while, PC-DOS just became a rebranded version of MS-DOS with virtually no differences between the two.

  • this is so retro lol

  • Appple ][ foreeeveeer !! (8)(8)

  • Apple II is still the best sold computer in exactly same model. Remember technology from 1977 lasted until 1993 - and an IBM Pc was nothing realy new except using a CPU that is capable to work 16 bit internally.

And a dos that was poor compared to Apple Dos.

    Woz, you're great!

  • Comment removed

  • not much, ive met woz and hes an awesome guy, from what ive heard from people who worked during the release of the apple macintosh and ending of the apple ii said Steve was an asshole.

  • Gates cant copy Apple.

Bill Gates hasnt been CEO of Microsoft for almost 10 years. Blame your woes on Balmer.

  • @Xzeleous without gates copying of apple, there would be know windows.

  • Thanks for uploading, and thanks for being a part of our lives, Woz! I cut my teeth on the ][, but it wasn't until '95 or so until I finally called one my own.

Never liked the MacInToy. Apparently, neither did Woz. The ][ was and still remains his baby.

  • But Steve Jobs also basically saved the company during the late 90s. But then again, if Woz was still there, Jobs wouldn't have been stupid and hired a person who manages soda...

  • At first, I thought the guy in the logo saying Apple 2 Forever was Saddam, because of the mustache and the red beret.

  • perect how the song changes from a 70s feeling to a 80s instrumentation.

  • Macintosh Forever.

  • Yeah Mac is the BEST COMPUTER OUT THERE!!!!!!!

    :) I use an iMac

  • So Apple II 'Forever' means until November 1993? ;)

Anyhow, I had a //c growing up and it was so easy to use. No expansion slots, menu controlled system utilities to configure serial ports, very easy system to set up initially.

My parents had one PC in 1996 and after the crap of dealing with Windows 95, we went Mac again.

I swear, I empathise with anyone who switched from a PC to a Mac after using that horrible facade of Windows 95!

  • Ahh man, its bringin' the rainbow to you! Apple II!!

  • Apple is the best! I wish more people would realize that!

  • Apple forever!

  • This just makes me sad. If Apple had stayed true to Woz's vision of a fun computer, instead of looking to Job's and his elegance over function philosophy, things would have been very different. Look around the net for the story of how Steve Jobs wouldn't even let the Apple engineers add a single expansion port on the first Mac. They tried to sneak one in as a "factory diagnostic port", but he caught on and made them take it out.

The Apple II is still a great computer after all these years.

  • I love apple!!!!! Bill Gates needs to stop copying Steve Jobs

  • Dude ive done my reserch, he copyed the mac os in 85, zune looks like a copy from ipod, vista looks suspiciously like mac os x, I know the whole history about how the personal computers started...do you know? if u dont than u shouldant say bill dosent copy steve till u see it for ur self

  • You do realize that none of the two people you've just mentioned are involved in the day-to-day programming and design, right?

  • I just watched this for about the 80th time...

  • @MrYoshiDan I watched this like 1 year ago, and as i remembered the words i couldn't help not singing!

  • @MrYoshiDan so I do!!!!

  • Am I the only one who feels like they could take on the world after listening to this? This may very well be the most strangely uplifting song ever written.

  • 1:41 not the piece of junk apple III

I still got my Apple IIe Platinum and I still use it for banners till this day.

ALL OF MY 5.25 floppies still work and all of my 3 1/2 floppies still work I take good care of my stuff.

My Apple IIe Platinum was my first computer back in 1990 it was my grandmothers computer in 1988 and I still use apple works and the print shop on that computer for banners and some word processing.

GOOD OLD APPLE LEADING THE WAY STILL HAPPENING TODAY..

  • It takes a gay to indicate another... shut up interpelulz

  • lol

  • What is that at 1:45?

  • i think its a laptop

  • no it migtb be a modem?/???

  • it could be I just guessed

  • Its one of the first mice or a very old one.

  • The //c at dusk? :^D

  • C64 was better.

  • Comment removed

  • 1. The C64 is THE BEST SELLING COMPUTER OF ALL TIME.

    2. Commodore failed because they kicked the head of the company out and started making crappier computers.

    3. I like watching old Apple stuff. (Proud Windows User here.)

  • Kickass upside down universe!!! HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!!

  • ..ah the ][ ..the memories ..thank you Al !

  • The greatest song about an Apple computer ever?

  • it's probably about the only song about a computer ever made.

  • I'm not sure, but I think it is a computer series

  • nope, there is "We Are Apple (Leading The Way)" too

  • i know that one.

we are apple is about Apple computer in general.

Apple ][ forever, is specifically about the Apple ][ computer.

  • apple ][ FOREVER!!!

  • what song is it

  • dude, this is Apple ][ forever!

  • Classic.

  • thank you apple!

  • Nice Movie

  • I love Apple II's.

    APPLE II FOREEEVVAAR

  • windows movie maker job 4 mac lol

  • I loved it until I gagged a little bit when it said "brings the rainbow to you".

    O_O

I think Apple just called me gay.

  • I have to agree. There are definitely homosexual connotations in this video, such as the lyrics "bringin' the rainbow to you" and the rainbow magically appearing over San Francisco.

Err, not that there's anything wrong with that... Just sayin', that's all :)

  • i'm fairly sure the rainbow refers to the happy colours in the apple logo, not to gay people.

no idea why the logo is coloured like that though...

  • AWESOME!!!

and lovely addicting song! those were days!!

  • love the song ... :)

  • This song is cheesy, but awesome for Apple fans. :)

  • I love Apple

When i was little the first apple i saw was an iMac G3 and now im involved with a corporation that fixes and sells apple and i owen plenty of macs and an iPhone. Apple had inspired me to do work in my school so well im going to graduate HS half way done with my associates degree. then when im done with all my schooling its straight to working in apple retail.

  • now it's stuck in my head.

  • Hmmmm... My 4yr old sis was watchin' it and now its stuck in both r heads!

  • is that Bonnie Tyler??? singing??

  • This totally 80's power-baled is interesting.

  • it's funny how some people pay thousands for systems with terrabytes of hard drive space, gigabytes of RAM and more, when, even nowadays you can still do the essentials (even internet browsing!) on a ][.

  • @poopskinTheLiar Wozniak and Jobs started out selling blue boxes, history is interesting.

  • Comment removed

  • @poopskinTheLiar Only people receiving social security checks, who likewise are mostly the same people who still have Apple IIs in their attic, use a computer for just "the essentials".

Plus we like for our we pages, and associated applications to load faster than a turtle running the Boston Marathon.

  • @Yobachi2007 Of course. that whole thing was just a little note on my part. A Apple II can't run Team Fortress 2, After all.

  • @poopskinTheLiar

Okay, my bad. Continuing having fun.

Would be interesting to see the internet on one of those things. It would be like going back into the past I guess.

  • @Yobachi2007 Yeah. Even if they aren't any good for running TF2, they sure are nice to use and tinker with in your spare time.

  • whoa... instant throwback...

    i miss my apple //e...

  • whats that song called

  • Apple II forever?

  • cool song.! :-)

  • Oh boy! And to think that the very first computer program I have ever written was for an Apple II machine back in the late 80s. I was still a kid in school back then. Lovely times.

Great, great video Al! Thanks for posting this.

  • These were the good ole days in my lifetime. While in Japan I made good money building/selling cloned Apple II computers. Worked there for a company building cloned Apple II drives, but not the Apple II. The real fun was breaking the diskette copy protection on games--on floppy back then with NMI switches and track counters. The cloning fun ended with the Apple IIe arrived with its custom chips which we couldn't clone. Real "computer learning" back then. The good ole days!

  • Well, heck. i'm 13 (14 soon, and i'll be getting a ][ or 2) and i still love the Apple ][, even if i wasn't around when it was new...

of course, later A][ models hold the key as to why the "i'm a mac" ad campaign is a profoundly bad idea: Applesoft BASIC. Apple asked microsoft to publish a BASIC interpreter that was superior to Integer basic.

  • In theory Apple builds great products. I reality you ALWAYS HAVE TO buy the warranty-extention, cause something WILL happen.

  • The mobility of my MBP just died. I can't use ANY battery anymore. I don't know why. Dammit.

  • O_______________o

    ....

  • My parents had one...

  • *installs new MacBook Air*

*gets Apple II out of his closet*

  • I think Im going to cry. APPLE II FOREVER!

  • I'm Actually Using My Apple II Computer Right Now

  • lol!

u can use the internet on it (kinda)

  • Aww I miss my Apple IIc. The disk "The Apple At Play" is sacred. :)

  • PR#6

    =)

  • Favorited and bookmarked, amazing.

  • Lies!

  • i like the badge that has

    I'll

    Buy

    Mac

    nice wording on IBM

  • Do you have an mp3-Version in better quality ?

    :P

  • indeed. I need it too :P, just take this, put it into Quicktime Pro, and split the file's Audio and Video.

  • Pat Benatar? Cool. Good for her! lol.

Apple ][. Forever? I think so. Programming gradually changes though...

  • joa, i can record it with the no23 recorder

  • joa, i can record it with the no23 recorder

  • I love you apple! 8)

  • thank you apple!

  • The hires Einstein @ 2:53 is tight
