@Haden084 yes, i think kelly's voice far exceeds that of carrie underwood. carrie has had a rather explosive career in country music....there's no way to deny that. carrie underwood is indeed a solid example of a country artist, and she's owed that credit...however when it comes to raw singing ability, kelly is in a different class entirely. her vocal abilities in my mind compare to the greats like whitney, celine, mariah...etc. of course it is a bit like apples and oranges, though.

That's Kelly for you. Brilliant as ever. What an amazing, talented singer. It makes me cry to know that only very few singers ar capable of reaching this level of excellence in singing. Like the emperor from Mulan said: "you don't find a girl like that every dynast day!" What a singer! Those vocals were just ridiculously magnificent. Go Kelly Clarkson! This is MY American Idol. Such power, grace and brilliance. This was a beautiful performace. Personally, my favourite rendition of it.
