I am really curious as to who is killing people without mercy? As far as I can tell it is not the christians killing christians indiscriminately. This tribute say the Prophet has united mankind.. First of all Muslims don't give importance to Muhammad(pbuh) over GOD. You wouldnt know that becuase your not Muslim. To prove that Muslims don't worship Muhammad they worship the one whom Muhammad worshiped. Muslims on the other hand believe that Jesus(pbuh) did suffer likewise all other prophets. And they were all Muslim (submitters to the One true Creator NOT his creation.

Those that you said were the position and are still today by many modern Muslims today. They, including you tend to reintepret the Qu"ran. But doing such is short of calling it reformation. The next question will be...Can Islam be reformed? You can't. To reform Islam you have to get rid first of Mohammad, then get rid of the Qu'ran. You have to take out a great portion of that book which preahed violence and hatreds amongst ppl of the book. But you can't simply do such without authorization.

i mean divine intervention is a pre requisite for transformation. Mohammad said.."i have perfected the religion for you" Q 5:3 . How then can you improve something which(accdg to Mohammad) was already perfected? You can't reform it. You can reinterpret it or pretend for example..."slay the non believers wherever you find them" as somethin else..like slay means pinched or slap or tap or kiss..L O L !!!

There is no such a thing as modern Muslims. Contrary to Christianity we don't believe we're saved just because we're Muslims we just try to act in the way that satisfies God(according to the Quran and the sunna) while trying and avoiding everything that displeases him.

We have a belief system, an action system, big sins sytem...

Islam is seperated in this sort of categories so that it is easier for people, and so that they dont have to get into deep teachings since it's not possible for some and so it's easier for converts.

Let me put the Bible for an example. I'm not suppose to reject or accept things from the Bible unless it has beed backed up by Islamic evidence. Because I might be accepting something that is not by God and rejecting someting that is by God. Same goes for Wahabbism. You would have to ask me if I accept what from Wahabbism.Mass translations and documentation are the only reliable way of knowing the realities of the past. The Bible does not have this so we don't use it.

Muhammad was also sent to expalin the Qur'an. If you accept the testimony of the faith,you have accepted everything that the Qur'an says and everything the prophet said in the hadeeths. These sects reject hadiths and many verses of the Qur'an so they are not Muslim. It takes scholars of generations and generations to expalin the Qur'an not a simple preacher. If we didn't have the records of what the previous or early scholars determend we wouldn't know what some verses refeared and refear to.
