Give appropriate credit to the talent that deserves it. This guy is one of the great musicians that Eddie Van Halen got his licks from and was influenced by. In other words, Rick is the teacher and Eddie's the student.
Sure he may of been doing it before him but Eddie is the one that made "famous" if you will. Why did he bring it to the forefront? Because he is a better guitarist.
OMG MY DAD IS AMAZING AT WHAT HE DOES! he my freaking hero. and i love him sooo much. he practices so hard and tries to please all of his fans...more power to you dad! lots of Love
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, omg, how long can ya stand out with that?!
Actually Johnny and Rick performed it together on Johnnys 1970 release of 'Johnny Winter And. ' The And being Rick and his brother and Randy Hobbs of the McCoys who formed Johnny's band. Rick wrote the song and many on that album. A terrific album if you don't have it! It was a slower tempo version with Johnny singing and Johnny and Rick playing.
i bought ricks record with rock, roll hoochie koo and burned the needel out..you should have seen him late night t.v with edger winters..it was incredable. they were truly ground breakers..nice to see him still workin it..ingie bingie trance guitar.
i used to own the album "All American Boy". incredible piece of work for its time and Rick's age. sadly i think his current age is starting to catch up on his voice. i'm amazed he actually made improvements on his guitar skills though. i didn't think it was possible. thx for proving me wrong on it Mr. Derringer.
ha!!..i dont f'n believe this!..i was at this show at cheney hall..i have a pic of me an rick and a buddy of mine..i thought this looked familiar!..manchester, connecticut..a few years ago..i just called buddy..he's coming over to see this..woo-hoooo!
Like many a 70's era rock & roll guitarist, he thinks he has to imitate Van Halen to attract the younger audience. I like Rick and don't think he needs to stoop that low.
He is our All American Boy

Actually, I think it was Johnny Winters group (Rick Derringer was in it, and he wrote it) and then Derringer went solo and recorded a version of it.

It is a PRS. The body, the headstock explains it all ..unless it's a shitty rip off, but I doubt out.

don't laugh: my first "live" concert was in 1976 and derringer was the warm-up act for....peter frampton, during his "comes alive" tour. the 70s!
