Half way through though I almost wanted to cry because I had so many relatives that've passed and some that live with cancer today and deafly afraid of inheriting it. I'm happy you did so well with the chemo. I hope it never comes back. I was diagnosed with and lived with metastisized cancer for 6 months. Then another CT scan showed it hadn't spread, so now he thinks it's something else. You seem like a smart and good person. I wish you good health always.

I am happy to say that I am in full health, back to life and actively involved in a non-profit raising awareness about esophageal cancer. @machocamach016 There are certain treatments which are administered completely by your oncologist; there are others however that are only partially administered by your oncologist. This treatment was the latter and is a standard practice for the drugs used. Thanks for your interest/post.
Actually, that heparin falls under anticoagulant, and not steriod. The whole purpose for injecting the heparin last is to keep your access like patent.
Brian, I am crying happy tears for you. Congratulations (NO-MO-KE-MO) and may you always be blessed with good health and happiness! My six year old son has been fighting leukemia for 3 years and at the end of January 2009, he goes off treatment. We can't wait!
