@99skyline99 You are. The higher the speed/time qualifications for a track, the more safety equipment needed. Yes it will never do a wheelie because its fwd, but a wheelie bar will keep the front suspension loaded, thus resulting in more traction and control of the vehicle. The faster you go, the more safety equipment needs to be added or you get disqualified or fined heavily if you are a pro racer. That, is what you are missing,
@99skyline99 I think I can explain why... When you got a very powerful FWD car the force will make such a weight shift in the car that it will lift the frontwheels when you accelerate.. And then you'll lose all of your power and it will just turn into wheelspin. With a wheelie bar, that wont happen. I hope this weakass explain helped you abit. :)

Bisimoto built a world record breaking SOHC vtec motor for about 15k and his track times are dumb nasty.
on top of that, since SOHC's come stock with high compression its easier to start building up the boost. Internals such as cams & cam gears, pistons, racing gaskets and bolts all around. will still be less then 2gs. Once the internals are built a big turbo with piping and all your looking at another 3k. then a hondata system if gones that route for tuning you can find one used and still get the job done for less then 1k. so far we are at around 4-5k.
at that point the car will be in the mid 10-11s on the track from stock 16-17s. then the other 3k is determine the little things and tuning to start shaving a fraction of a second off the 1/4 mile time. Do your fucking hw before making a stupid ass statement like the car cant be that fast with less then 80k. no one in there right mind would spend 80k on a civic to only have it run 9s. with 80k you can build a 6-7s rx-7.

@krewrules That's for a RWD car. In a FWD car, it helps stabilize it, and when ever you change gears with a lot of torque, no matter what wheels have the torque behind them, it leans the whole car back, which makes you lose traction. That's why it's there, to get as much traction as possible.

Yes bisi does have a D16 build with 700ish hp. But The current record is now being held by Speed Factory in Tacoma Washington. The driver is James Kempf his car has a D16z6 and pushes 650+hp. His brother Kevin kempf also has one of the fastest DOHC civics in the world his car ran 8.89 at 172mhp and it pushes a little over 1050hp But I do agree this thing is fast as hell. Well done man

Gonna throw a t3 in it. planning on starting out in the 13s or 12s. Full street car starting with hopefully a chipped computer, 255 walbro fuel pump and bout 15lbs a boost.

@grocer3 It's not a wheelie bar, the bar is there to compensate for the weight transfer. Look how flat it launched and compare it to any other fwd car launching. @krewrules That's for a RWD car. In a FWD car, it helps stabilize it, and when ever you change gears with a lot of torque, no matter what wheels have the torque behind them, it leans the whole car back, which makes you lose traction. That's why it's there, to get as much traction as possible.

Yes bisi does have a D16 build with 700ish hp. But The current record is now being held by Speed Factory in Tacoma Washington. The driver is James Kempf his car has a D16z6 and pushes 650+hp. His brother Kevin kempf also has one of the fastest DOHC civics in the world his car ran 8.89 at 172mhp and it pushes a little over 1050hp But I do agree this thing is fast as hell. Well done man

i have seen 9 n 1 sec Hondas but all have DOHC engines.
I have an ek3 with a SOCH 3 stage v-tec engine. Should be getting a 99 Civic coupe another SOHC v-tec engine. Thats ma lil project for the new yr hopefully. Gonna throw a t3 in it. planning on starting out in the 13s or 12s. Full street car starting with hopefully a chipped computer, 255 walbro fuel pump and bout 15lbs a boost.
