@Truemyshkin Totally agree,,especially on the lack of jonesy on the keyboard and bass...Such an integral part of led zepp yet over looked..4 unique guys together that cant seem to be replicated by any others except themselves,,This drummer(whos sadly dead now) was deserving of his position in this line up
@FlashmoreGash Yeah. I'm not ripping on Jones and Lee or anything, obviously they're musicians with more talent than I could ever hope to have. It's just something about this song that really makes the fact that they aren't Zeppelin really noticeable, especially in the middle section, where they're all off and Jimmy is doing his soloing. There's just a flavor and a personality that they don't possess compared to Jonesy and Bonzo. But still, great performance.
I love that solo by Jimmy. He was on fire this entire show. Also if you like "When the world was Young" then check out Page and Plant at the Amnesty International Concert. Jimmy added a fresh new solo at the end and his solo was amazing on "Babe I'm Going to leave You. That was the last Page Plant show. Check it out.

I have seen lots of singers sing live , unfortunatly they where the ones now a days ... the shit ones .... Black eyed peas and shit ... they are ALL shit live ...
The real singers are this!! Robert plant , Ian Gillian , David coverdale and lots more from the 70's 80's , i wish i was from that time where music was really made with feelings , and not this that we are used to hear now a days ..

@picanha100sal listen to the late Steve Marriott if you haven't . Y ou may like him also . He sang for U K bands Small Faces and Humble Pie . Influenced all those guys you mentioned . They all loved him and rightfully so because he was the man . You are right in your comment also . The rock vocalist is a lost art
@picanha100sal Coverdale*Page was incredible. I wish they would record together again. They are some live David Coverdale and Jimmy Page when they did a short Japan tour. That is the closet record to the zeppelin sound. It would have fit right in after CODA. Jimmy's best playing since In Thru The Outdoor.
I can't believe they Lost Michael Lee..its almost like Bozo all over again..Michael was such an amazing drummer, he filled the empty chair quite well, considering Bonzo was practically irreplaceable..
i often wonder why they excluded him other than just to try somethg fresh or different or maybe then they would have had to perform as Led Zep and didn't want that for whatever reason..anyone know the real story behind excluding Jonesy?
yea I was referring to the album TSRTS, obviously this is the song no quarter... but this solo is indicative of the no quarter song on the TSRTS album not the studio version on Houses of the Holy
well i recorded this gig on video back then when it was broadcasted on tv. i don't know if there's existing an official dvd or video version, but i dont't think so... just the tv version transferred to dvd
na endlich kann ich es mir ganz anhoeren..war beim Konzert in Erfurt und musste ausgerechnet bei No Øuater pinkeln...vielen dank an den edlen Spender Gruss aus Norway Lars...
I told my wife, "I'd give your left nut to see this live!" She said without missing a beat "Bought and sold!"

Page sounds incredible, such a great fucking guitarist he is.
Time has been kind to Page and his playing cuz goddam he's spot on...wish the same could be said of that trainwreck Plant calls his voice.

Wow...the lack of John Bonham and John Paul Jones is -really- noticeable in this song for some reason.

The guitar riff is similar to the main one in Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (another masterpiece released in 1973) but it's actually scarier.

it would have been even better if the intro had been played correctly.

No Quarter is the only reason why I bought TSRTS.. If there had been a version on How The West Was Won I would not have bought TSRTS. Great song!

Honestly I think this is Jimmy's best version of the TSRTS solo

@PAULOcbi i think hes talking about no quarter from the TSRTS dvd. this solo has some parts where its similar to the one from the dvd.

The amount of emotion that Plant pours into this song sends shivers down my spine. However, it saddens me that it is not JPJ on keyboard.
