Specs Draco Meteor destroys everything except Blissey who is totally crippled by Trick

Even Steels with significant defensive investment are heavily damaged ( eg.Max HP Metagross takes 45.8%- 54.1% which means it can only switch in once )

Without Salamence running around either it lost one of its niches as a reliable DDMence revenge killer with a Scarf ( Jirachi / Flygon had to rely on a 50/50 )

Plus it makes Infernape useless.

latias...I never used any of it's sets other than a gimmicky CB Outrage, so I don't care much for it going bye bye. And, since it countered many pokemon, including UUs trying to get to OU, this paves the way for more originality, so I'm fine. A lot of the people who hate smogon for it leaving are those who need it desperately to win- showing why it is cheap. Don't have annything against latias, but it is a bit too strong for OU most of the time

Latias was the central Pokemon of the metagame. Without her Scarf-Tar will drop in use and Infernape, Cresselia, Celebi etc will rise.

Latias is just not that OP. It has what, 5 weaknesses? Dragon, Ice, Ghost, Bug, Dark. It's not ridiculous to counter really. Imagine if Mence got moved to Uber. People'd freak more. Throw a Blissey or Metagross in on Latias. Both can beat it. It's a big asset to some teams, and can be an amazing revenge killer. Sure it's useful in Ubers, but that doesn't mean it should be there permanently.

And remember, a check must be able to beat a pokemon in one on one combat, but a counter had to be able to do that AND switch in comfortably. And what in OU besides blissey likes switching in to Spec's Meteor from Latias?

Latias kinda deserved to be gone, as it was able to OHKO (I'm pretty sure) its biggest counter (Scarftar) with Specs Surf after SR damage...kinda deserves to get kicked. Also, Mence. Its cool, but Weavile is its only guaranteed counter that can revenge kill it well, and nobody uses weavile, at least in my experince

I think it'd be better to ban movesets. You know, like for Swampert's curse/mirrorcoat. (Dunno if it's still banned, though) For example, Salamence? "Ban" any set that involves Dragondance. Specmence, Scarfmence or more defensive versions are still viable choices. IMHO.

I'm gonna miss Latias being OU. I still think it's a little late to worry about suspect testing now, with B/W on the horizon. The whole metagame will undoubtedly shift in ways we can't even imagine now, and so it's seems a little pointless to be worrying about the banlist now, especially after she's been OU (and consistently voted OU) for over a year.

But what's done is done. However I think with her gone, Salamence will be the new flavor of the metagame, and will have to go as well.

I'm pissed. Latias is amazing. As for centralizing the metagame, thats what good pokjes do. Scizor heatran, mence... they all centralize the metagame, i think scizor does so more than latias.
