Don't forget that the GOP is doing a great job of creating have (rich, white, male) vs have not (working, white/black/latino/etc, men, women) in this country.
I wonder how long it will be before Breitbart turns his attention to this Democrat. No compassion allowed in the GOP or conservatives don't you know....oh but they will say Jesus every 30 seconds.
@LoryLandskipper Yea, I think there is a big difference in thinking of the prison system as a place to store criminals vs a place to rehabilitate criminals. I'm afraid our system has too much focus on the former
Let's see you live in a housing project and living next door to a crack apartment and get threatened with death if you told. Let's see if you would open your mouth "white bread".
@LeGioNoFZioN Not exactly but then again I dont know what this libertarian approach is. Basically the prison system is a symptom of the larger social issues within society. The problems with society and the laws that send people to prisons help create the type of prisons we have.
@Sevenfold120 subscribe to the reason channel they have great advocacy videos for all types of issues from a libertarian perspective .... to a certain degree I agree with you but not all the way. Some problems have no root in society and are the result of individuals making their own choices howeevr bad they may be
you need a limited government and not equal outcomes but equal opportunities. You need to abandon your drug war, and get reasonable about drugs and drug culture. you need to put pedophiles and rapists away for life in solitary, and not allow them to mix with other prisoners under any circumstances. you need to punish the knuckleheads who are lifelong criminals and you need to not make greater criminals out of young impressionable offenders who slip up.
I see where you are going, for the same reason white dudes in jail join the Nazi-skinhead folks, but radicalization is a problem, and the way to combat that best is with opportunity. to have opportunity you need afluence and a system where people can rise beyond their current salary or wages, and make something of themselves. the way to have this is not an over regulated system where the top 5% become richer daily and the savings of seniors is stolen through inflation
Amen! The best way to stop 'radicalizing prisoners' is to put an end to the american incarceration culture, which has resulted in the largest prison system in the world, which takes stupid and misguided young men and manufactures them into criminals, and which costs us not only money but lives - the lives of the people we incarcerate and the lives of the victims of habitual offenders, most of whom we could have helped early on instead of locking away.

Clarke's got a point. If you don't want them radicalized, improve the system so we make them better people, not worse criminals.

Education = opportunity. As long as we allow our education system to fail the people who need it most the cycle will continue.

what you need is a truly libertarian approach if you ever want to make your prison system better
