  • damb i love being a producer . . . running into all of the original tracks that made most of today's hip hop artists go big makes me think im looking on the rite track of samples if the big boys had used it .

and it makes me feel like im on the rite track if im really tryen to bring original hip hop from the nineties.

& to put the OG back on the table to wipe off this disastrous genocide we all like to call

    the mainstream : .

  • Greatest rock song of all time !!!

Thx KC for opening my/our eyes.Cya on the other side !!!

    xoxox

    CD/MD

  • this is one of my favorite songs of all time... Great Fucking song.... Word..

  • Memories ....

  • I recall my college days... lsd and spooky tooth...nothing quite like it.

  • It just shows you how influential these guys were....so many bands obviously were huge ST fans!

  • This is s great tune. I've heard other tunes by Spooky Tooth (since I've hard their best of) but this song isn't on their only two best of CD. Thanks for posting.

  • Wow.....I think I know how Judas Priest came up with Victim of Changes now. Rock on!!!!

  • ATMOSPHERE

  • @TheBlackshirtHusker Hi. I would have not remembered Spooky Tooth had I not stumbled upon this Video. Man I saw these guys in 1971 at a Highschool Gym and had ?? man I know somewhere in my LP collection I have LP with "waiting in the wind?"

    Wow Thanx guy

  • @TheBlackshirtHusker no mr.Blackshirt

what you mean to say is

ATMOSPHERE TOTALLY TOOK MORE THAN HALF OF THE SONG IN SAMPLES AND MADE A DOPE ASS TRACK WITH IT >

but now my head is clearer . now that i have stumbled upon the original i know for a fact that this is a million times better than what ATMOSPHERE MADE out of it .

  • @zkid626 Yup. I was trying to find the Atmosphere fans who recognized the sampled sections.

    Sorry....

  • singer sounds like Ted Bullet rip of thunderhead

  • remindsmeof the band Kansas for some reason .

  • this is hot

  • One of the my faves rock band..great song!! great record, great band!!

  • at 0:00 - 5:25 the best part

    perfect music

  • George Harrison

  • ^O^

  • This band is Art not Spooky. Awesome tune

  • great song, a long time searching because of Uriah's Heep Album of the same title

  • Arts "supernatural Fairy Tale" always worth a listen for diehards "come on up' a particular favourite

  • These guys were staples of FM radio in the '70s, along with other english blues based bands like Savoy Brown. Guitarist Mick Jones later joined some little band called Foreigner. Gary Wright went on to be come the Dream Weaver.

  • the radio station used to play this often late at night...it was my favourite pot-smoking song!

  • Quality tune. Would prefer not to be in anyway negative on such a cool tune page but atmosphere or whatever that losers name is should never have been let anywhere near this tune. No way he should have sampled this because trying to find a balance is awful and makes me wanna puke. Spooky tooth rock!! we need to bring this shit back too much rap and shite about these days!!

  • @1234muscail if you knew anything about hip hop or music in general, considering you have jurassic 5 and binary star in your favorites, you would know that this track sampled in trying to find balance is sampling at its finest. basically you're hating on hip hop when you have rap artists in your favorites. now you just look like a hypocrite and an ignorant bitch.

  • @jamesclifford7 THANK you.

  • @1234muscail ya ! That should do it ! This guy just saved Spooky tooth guys! HES A LEGEND

  • @1234muscail Grr.

  • this music flows through my whole being.

  • trying to find my atmosphere

  • Awesome song! Sampled by atmosphere ("trying to find a balance"), which is one of my all time favorite songs

  • What is this amazing sound? I've never heard of these guys until today.

  • fantastic song!

  • grinder looking for meat.

  • This is one of the most underrated bands I have ever listened to. Awesome music.

  • @theodaman420 so true, they never were quite as big in our part of the the world...

  • Thanks, great band with great vocals and music.

  • AMAZING

  • É uma das melhores músicas que já ouvi.

  • saw them backing ZZ Top in 1974 doing The Mirror(Shreveport, LA), just before Gary Wright went solo. really great concert

  • this is what you would hear if lsd made sounds

  • anyone got their version of Season of the Witch? the best version ever!

  • Truly a pleasure to watch- this brilliant classic and your great work with the video- thanks a lot for sharing!

  • my niece had this album cover in her front room, in front of lp stack. i said "momo!, you know spookytooth? she said "i bought it because the cover made me curious. i never got to listen to it, some one stole the lp, but i still love the cover so i leave it out. so, i say, come on over, we hear some spooky tooth. yeah.

  • best song from Spooky Tooth - no doubt ! TY for posting JoeStar76

  • cool song

  • Super bonne toune...j'adore!!!!!

  • J'adore!!!!

  • Spooky Tooth had some of the best tunes ever.

  • I hear a little Dream Weaver, which Gary Wright went on to write and sing in 1976,if i'm correct[after the band split in 74.

  • Awesome tuune!

    Thank you @215renaissanceman for sharing!

    Thank you @JoeStar76 for posting...

  • Lost this albumn in the late 80's. Had been listening to it since I was a nine years old. My mum is related to Mike Patto. Haven't been able to find the albumn since. Any chance you could post my favorite song "Don't let them get you down"? I sing the song often but it aint close to the same as hearing Mike sing it. Thanks so much!

  • Good!!!!!

  • thank you joestar76 for putting this amazing track on youtube, it still sound as good today as it did all those tears ago.

  • It's amazing how good this really is....

  • Just bought a DVD with extracts from the 2004 Germany Tour.

Too bad they don't play these fantastic songs no more.

the album Mirror is my absolute favorite choice from their discography

  • First Timebox, Then PAtto, Then this AND BOXER? I LOVE YOU MICHAEL PATTO!!!!

  • A true and great masterpiece!

  • Excellente toune!!!J'aime écouter encore et encore!!!!!Les belles années free!!!! ;o)

  • This reminds me of the Jefferson StarShip

  • LOVE THE TOOTH!

  • caw3225, exactly what you said!! spot on. Takes me right back to a great time.

  • This reminds me a Pink floyd / Grateful dead mixture sounds really cool

  • ATMOSPHERE SAMPLE!!!

  • Mike Patto was very cool. His kid's in a great band nowadays called "Reel People". Check out the "video response" i put up here -- it's seriously killer music (alas, not classic rock, but WOW!)

  • Great! The whole album is a bomb! Too bad I don't smoke joints any longer ...

  • Saw "Spooky Tooth" in London summer 2009 - (Gary Wright and Mike Harrison). They were on as part of Island records 50th anniversary. They had some great session players with them, and did a superb version of "I am the walrus" that was seriously heavy; Wright and Harrison's voices still had that sound we all know. It was sad Mike Kellie was not there-had hoped he would be as he had been gigging with them in recent times.

  • This is the shit. I grew up on classic rock and hadn't even heard of this band before. Youtube FTW!

  • These guys should be top of the rock tree...a lot of rock fans are missing out because theyre unaware of the mighty Tooth

    Jim

    Jim

  • another great contribution by mike patto!

  • brilliant classic yet so underrated. this is a good song when on the road.

  • That's got to be Gary Wright on vocals, huh?

  • @maplespak He and Mike Harrison split the vocals. Harrison starts the song.

  • @DVROFFMAN Mike Harrison is not on this album. That is Mike Patto who comes in on the second verse or when they sing about the boxer Harrison left after Witness.

  • @maplespak I think. They definitely are both singing but it might be Gary starting out.

  • @maplespak Gary wright then Mike Patto.

  • wonderful song.

    some influences by The WHO

  • Great Song! Hadn't thought about Spooky Tooth in many years until I saw a special on AMC this am with Mic Jones. Had to look them up again. Love these guys!!

  • atmosphere - trying to find a balence

  • @harpuha wow, really! thx for opening up my eyes ;)

  • @harpuha spooky tooths original version kicks the shit out of that song

  • Loved this tune since the 70's.. Timeless Classic. No expiry date on this music.

  • Nice hearing this band, they got a fine "Uriah Heep" groove :-)

  • man, I haven't heard that great song since 1978!! I love youtube...

  • intro remarquable

  • One of the GREATEST songs i´ve ever heard!!! Really fuckin´ great song!

  • Atmos!

  • Nice track. Mick Jones (Foreigner) was a nice addition for the band. :-) I love his playing on "Fantasy Satisfer" and "The Hoofer" too.

  • well. influnced by the Who - but still Great Song !!

  • Очень красивая песня, It is wonderful

  • Great song loved Spooky Tooth never heard this one thanks. This really is an amazing song wish i heard it way back when.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!! This is the GREATEST thing about youtube--finding these kind of underplayed songs!

  • Does anyone know where I could download this? It's not on iTunes or Rhapsody.

  • buy the record.

  • Hello, I need someone's assistance: I am making photo slideshow for my son, Kyle - he's turning 30 this Friday. He was named for the song "Kyle", and I want to put the song w/ the slideshow, but can't find it anywhere to download! If someone can send me the song via e-mail (or ??), I would greatly appreciate it and would return the favor! PLease let me know asap - I leave for my son's day-after-tomorrow.

  • I haven't heard this in at least 20 years. It was one of my favorite songs! THANK YOU for posting this!

  • Since Gary Wright was in Spooky Tooth it's no surprise that they remind you of him and Winwood.

  • i saw them play this song way early 70s, they were backing ZZ Top in Lake Charles, Louisiana. immediately bought the album, turned my friends on to it. Great Song. Thank You. later of course, Gary Wright etc etc. but i will always remember them as Spooky Tooth playing their new album, The Mirror, in Lake Charles

  • amazing opening riff.

  • mike patto also was in spooky tooth for a few minutes after his band Patto blew up...he sings a couple songs on this album

  • from the ame LP, Higher Circles warrants a revisit

  • Atmosphere - Trying To Find A Balance

    S.A. Smash - Gangsta

    Both songs sample this

  • i never heard this before and i have a hugh vinyl collection from the 60's-70's.i knew of them but they are an enigma to me.they sound like a cross between gary wright, steve winwood and so many other 70 groups.i guess uriah heep is close to what i think.opinion---nice stuff

  • I've been searching for something that'll blow me away like the first Warhorse (UK) album did, and although not a energised this band is amazing. Love it

  • Nice song Spooky Tooth

  • my friend just sent me this track.

    super sick

i never would have found it other wise!

  • I thought kanye produced this for slug

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOO kanye wishes he was in the same leauge as slug. it was ant, the other half of atmosphere

  • its a joke. ant is the other half of atmosphere, the half that does the beats.

  • Hey wasnt the guy out of foreigner in spooky tooth !!,?? mick er taylor ?

  • Ive never heard this track before, just stumbled upon it,id heard of spooky tooth, during my youth, and never bothered to check em out,but this is gr8,i cocked up big time there !!!, can kinda hear crosby stills nash n young, barclay james harvest and the little river band in this,so it sits right with those bands i love !!,im gonna investigate some more of these

  • This gives Boston's "more than a feeling" a run 4 it's money bigtime

  • grande som !

  • Thanks for posting, Joe. I too am from Mtl and can well remember the days when CHOM played the two back to back. It's the way they should be heard and it's why you should consider doing the same if you can. I still have the LP and consider it one of my alltime favourite. I got the old turntable working a few years ago and rediscovered the album, 30 years later. Great stuffI

  • im from Mtl too and ya Chom should go back to playin the good stuff , now its all the same songs by mediocre bands, what happened to u CHOM!!!!

  • I happen to own the 1974 American Island pressing.... this album is lovely... I also do have the 45 which has this song as the B-side and an edited version of Hell or High Water as the A-side.

This album couldn't be rated 5 stars.... 12 stars would be more like it!

  • YEAH GREAT SONG- THANKS.CLEVER.MEMORABLE,ALL THAT ARP AND MOOG...HA HA ,TOO MUCH....Spooky Tooth Lives !!

  • I was wondering a looong time about that Atmosphere sample.

  • This is so good that it almost hurts. I was about 20 when Spooky released The Mirror, and in my opinion it is one of the greatest "Let's smoke a joint and listen to music" songs ever written. I haven't heard it in many years but it still moves me and brings back very good memories...Thank-you JoeStar76, you;ve made me feel good...caw

  • @caw3225 My sentiments exactly.

  • Ultimately amazing. I used to play this on my Norman B-40 12 string guitar and my friends loved it. This whole album is one of those wonders where every song is good / great. If you haven't picked this one up, GET IT. Spooky Tooth - The Mirror. 1974. Ah, yes, those were the days. A+++++

  • Hi JR,

could you pls send me tabs/chords for this song? Thanks.

  • Epic ageless tune. Wonderful band.

  • atmosphere ate this song upppppp

  • Why in the heck wouldn't this be on FM radio? Makes no sense.

  • Classic rock stations....WAKE UP!!!!!! Somebody get this into the rotation.

  • Love these album covers!

  • I saw the light, which revealed to me, that the world is full of nothing but darkness...

  • There is no darkness, only the absense

    of light

  • holy fuckin shit i just realized atmosphere likes spooky tooth i actually used trying to find a balance as my high school quote thank u slug lol and this is a fuckin underrated band

  • Geez, I can remember listening to this song in the early 70's. I think this was the last album before Gary Wright split solo. You can certainly hear the DreamWeaver influence in this song.

    Great band.

  • Daaaaaaaaaaayaaam! Ive been lookin for this song for years! Thank you !

  • Great song, from a great era of music. Now that the kids are finally getting into good music again!!!!!!! Amen to that.....Classic rock rules!!!!

  • God! I can't believe my luck, this week...

Thank you so much for posting this track : it brings back so many memories!
