The reason you're counting 16 is because you count the cards he deals after he says to. The 9 of diamonds was already one the table. Basically he wants you to count after the message.

You must rule in the possibility of accidentally accusing the wrong person or failing to see the details or what actually happened based on your recollection of the memory.

I think the point is that, if you have watched more than one of these videos today, you are more tuned into the stuff in the background. You don't think you are trying to, but noticed but your brain is because you are now completely aware that they are going to ask you at the end about something in the background. So basically, if you saw the moonwalking bear test, there is no reason to keep going, because you are gonna notice everything while you remember that.
