  • If you haven't heard of them already you guys should listen to Rival Sons. They got a nice Zep feel. But anyways what I was gonna say is. Why the hell aren't there more kids trying to sound like classic rock? I mean it won't ever be as good. But I'd like to see someone young pour their soul into a song these days.

  • Just like the guitar sequences have more notes and different notes added to it when live.

  • At live concerts, they like to switch things up. Give the audience diversity of the song. It's them having fun with the music they created, the audience heard the same way 100 times through their record players. Seeing them live, and perform this way is just showing the audience the song actually LIVE.

  • Robert ruined the song. He is normally good, Plant lovers don't hate on me, I ,love him too, but he didn't sing it right AT ALL! It does not sound ANYTHING like the record. :( Come on, Robert! You don't sound like yourself! But Page rocked at that guitar! mOm

  • @kaewonf8 boy you're right! Plants singing ruins this version!

  • I like Page's playing on this version, but Plant just can't sing the song anymore and doesn't seem to try...at all. He's just picking random notes out of the air, and it doesn't work. The studio version is just better, aside from the novelty factor. The vocals here ruin it for me.

  • Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away

  • Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away

  • ive learnt this song recently. the way page plays with it is so good, i really get the feeling that hes just jamming, not trying to play perfect but just feeling it. to play like this in front of a huge audience takes balls and something beyond simple skill.

  • what makes j. paige great is like all the other great guitarist is the raw feeling and playing ,not like a robot that other guitarist play, mistakes r the best tones sometimes.peace.

  • @0458FEO somebody gets it....good one

  • I've had a yT page for 5 years and I never knew Led Zeppelin had a page.

    haha no pun intended. xD

  • It's so far away ... It's otherworldly.

  • Jimmy Page toca pra caraio, 2° melhor guitarrista do mundo

  • Is he even singing in key? I can't even tell anymore and I've been playing for 25 years....I want to believe he is :)

  • These vocals are pretty bad....too much coke on the road......

  • ZEPPELIN greatest band ever bar none live or in studio. I seen both Stones and Zep. Stones at The Masonic Temple which only seated maybe what 6000 they stunk Zep rocked 80000 the year prior. Stones great studio and have longevity yes because members were replacable. VH, The Who too

  • I went to the March 24 & 27 shows at The Forum.

  • Although it's great to view this vintage footage, this has got to be the sloppiest version of that song I've ever heard. Tribute bands couldn't get away with how they performed that song.

  • @RBELLOUS At the time I thought it was great. Granted when Schenker and Van Halen came along playing accurate hurt Zeppelin. But over the years name me bands that have had great songs like Zeppelin. And please don't tell me Metallica is the Zeppelin of this generation. Their songs don't even compare.

  • fans de zeppelin miren esto: w a t c h ? v = -K M S K K D k E A A

  • Plant's voice sounds shot already... Page tears it up though.

  • I've been listen to them sense 1975, and I'm 58, the best, with Morrison,Hendrix . I've seen War in concert too and that was good also, those were the days of great rock, that's what my kids grew up with and played. all musicology. that's our family my sis sang back up for awhile with a great rock band too.

  • plant was not fit.. :-( anyway an awesome song

  • JIMMY PAGE!!!!

  • i miss playing the drum to there music

  • I look for my dream, and a pocketful of gold. Acapulco Gold!

  • i was talking to a girl at work about music, i mention i liked the grateful dead, and she mentioned she liked miley cyrus, and i said that that wasn't real music, and she asked me what the difference between good music and bad music was, i thought about it a minute and then said, if it sounds either the same or better live, as it does in the studio

  • @rvaugh230 You should have walked away when she said she liked Miley Cyrus

  • Mighty mighty Zep.....

  • What a band... what a song.

I could grow old listening to this

  • One of the coolest things about the mighty Zep is....they never played a song the same way twice...ever.Zeppelin is clearly the best band ever...in any dimension, parallel world or in any other solar system.PEACE

  • 27 retarded, deaf motherfuckers

  • Imortal, without doubts!!!

  • D + adoro led zeppelin

  • Drinking tequila straight and dancing to this song. I miss college. :(

  • @crispmom haha. more like drinking a lotta tequila, head straight into the shit pot, hearing this playing and doing an impromptu jig albeit the puking.

  • jesus, robert plant just wasnt the same live man... theres only a couple videos of him singing like a boss live. i guess its either totally bad or fucking godly amazing.

  • @MidAtlanticOfficials .....He's the BEST....even the god singers like Plant have times where their vocals are a bit shot....but they still bring it on home and deliver an emotional and breath taking experience.

  • If you dislike this you're a homo!

  • THIS IS JUST SO BEAUTIFUL FGHJKJHGFDFGHJ

  • hell yeah!!!

  • Led Zeppelin reigns supreme.

  • LZ wasn't good live?????? LMAO......they were the ultimate live band!!!!!! Only Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison were as exciting live!!!

  • @fabsternyc I think The Who, Ten Years After, Deep Purple, Blue Cheer, Cream and the ABB have something to say about that ;)

  • @fabsternyc The Rolling Stones, Jethro Tull, Black Sabbath, and Van Halen — in their heydays — were also great to see live.

  • @JeffGR4 yeah!

  • @fabsternyc and pink floyd too

  • @fabsternyc ...and Nirvana.

  • @honkiefresh10 yeah, buddy!

  • @fabsternyc cream.....

  • @fabsternyc and Cream was good live too

  • doesn't get better than this...My b-day is 2day !

  • 27 people wouldn't know a good song if it punched them in the nose.

  • quit arguein. yall are worse then a highschool cheerleadin squad

  • seth rips

  • on my birth day to.

  • This is by far my favorite live version of this song.

  • Ya they were good live, I saw them in Long Beach Cal in 73 and at the LA forum in 75.

  • HIs junk is the main point to see them live. I never heard people say they were bad live. This is the 75 tour. You don't like big packages and good music get out.

  • i want this played at my wedding and my funeral

  • I am 45 yrs old and been l have been led zep for most of my life.there is no better blues based rock band ever to hit the fucking stage. how were the idiot rolling stones get voted number one rock band. They suck and cant carry a tune for shit.

  • @senyorsmoothybunz HELL YEA!!! my father got me hooked on zep when I was 8..im 23 now and i STILL LOVE them!!! john bohnam is my idol; reason i became a drummer

  • @senyorsmoothybunz THANK YOU! Someone agrees with me, the stones are NOT that good. Led Zeppelin is the best there ever was.

  • @senyorsmoothybunz

the best way to understand how good zep' are is to understand the competition.

zep' are my fave band, too but that's even with the stones72 73'us/europe tour's

a channel belonging to kleermaker 1000's will give you a perspective as to why one band might be consider'd over the other. lol listen to 'heartbreaker' 'brussels affair' is another from '73 tour and you'll find it here on youtube (as well)

    i'm 53,saw zep' 4tour's & don't know 4sure ('72,'73stones)

  • @senyorsmoothybunz haha oh my god shut up, no one cares how old you are and your daughter. Your entire comment was based on yourself, get a fucking life.

  • @JoshStroma and no won cares about how great you can make a come back and make someones day horrible. you may not no this but a couple of people have agreed on my comment so YOU get a life

  • @JoshStroma abit strange that the guy cant spell one but no need to hate on him dude

  • @senyorsmoothybunz

It's a bit prejudice to label rap as crap per definition.

  • @senyorsmoothybunz The Rolling Stones were O.K. until Brian Jones died. Then they sucked.

  • i have listned to zep all my life, i guess.. greetings to my father.. r.i.p played zeps rock n roll at his funeral. great song for a great man. Zep is in my heart n soul..

despues salio zepp, cuando los stones ya eran los mejores!

    zepp 70s...

    stones 60s,70s,80s,90s,00,10, 2012!

  • RockAndFunk is right!!. Zeppelin performed great live. Even when Robert Plant's voice was scratchy from all the cigarettes, they were amazing.

  • It's not that they were bad live....for me it's seeing Robert Plants tight ass pants! you can see his bulge and for some it is great but for me he is repulsive! I mean i love/adore them but don't find them attractive in any way.

  • @rainbowneznarf What? we are talking about music here and you have to bring up his bulge? and in a negative way??? I have the biggest man crush and that dude. his sex appeal is insane

  • @easymelon2187 I apologize for offending you Mr. Melon, i just can't handle seeing Plant sing live.....although i do LOVE Led Zeppelin A LOT!

  • @rainbowneznarf if you liked them that much you'd like them live

  • @IveeChew I do fucking love them live! I just don't enjoy seeing his man meat through those 2 tight of pants while singing live! BUT any man in skin tight pants is fucking gross to me!

  • plant must be drunk or something, he doesn't sound that great but page was fantastic

  • I hate to tell you but there were alot of nights when they were so fucked up that they sucked balls. No band is perfect.

  • @bret66g Or it could be they aren't as motivated or are more tired physically or yes, high or drunk, but you try touring to as many places as they did and playing that well consistently. I give them credit more then any band for consistently well played music and really are my top band to see live all time for sure, but you make valid points. Humans are humans, but zepp all day

  • @bret66g yeah knebworth they were completely out of their heads

  • fuckk yessssss :D

  • LED-ZEPPELIN RULES!!! ROCK ON!!!!!!!

  • This is some of the BEST SHIT!! , i"ve heard in a long time!!

  • this is blues and funk and everything black. turn on the radio today and all you hear is this disgusting black sound that resembles nothing more than animalistic fucking. I suppose much of zeppelin's music takes from that animalistic impulse to be base, self-serving and basically just plain rock and roll shit.

  • I've posted this kind of comment before on a few zep clips, so if I'm repeating for you please forgive me - I'm having a few drinks -but oh, man did Zep fans hunt high and low for these bootleg clips back in the day. It's so cool to see them now at the click of a button...and whoever is running this ledzeppelin channel does such an AWESOME job with them. I'm interested in how much involvement Jimmy has in getting these out (a lot, I bet). Anyway, check my channel for some good raw blues...

  • great playing by jimmy but have heard plant sing better than this

  • @MrKeefrichards That means there's no competition for Plant, but himself !!!

  • also, white popularization of black music led to many many struggling black musicians towards very lucrative and successful careers, and wider audience that incorporated white folks. bb king, muddy waters, and countless other black musicians had a difficult time making money until elvis hit the scene (and elvis, btw, was quite vociferous about his love for blues music, and was reportedly nervous as shit when meeting some of his old blues icons, as he was a blues fanboy).

  • say what you will, but they did not steal "black" music, and they were NOT hand-picked by record execs. If you want to talk about being white and popularizing black music, talk about elvis. by the time zep got on the scene, all of that had already happened in spades. they were NOT a "safe" band. they were scary, and risky, and no one had heard anything like it before. ever. also, this fighting is obnoxious. i just wanna listen to zep. disable comments please!!!

  • ugh, i'd like to clear a few things. although zep was sued successfully - and can therefore be said to have not given proper credit - they were HUGE FANS of muddy waters and a lot of old chicago and delta blues musicians. since there was a huge interest in blues music starting in 1965, pretty much everyone knew that "whole lotta love" and "you shook me" were muddy waters covers.

  • Comment removed

  • zeppelin has been sued, the beatles were sued and the stones and clapton could have been sued for stealing. there isnt one musician who has not stolen from another. you show me a musician who says they havent stolen anything and i'll show you a liar.

  • @deafnblind77 Yeah? Who could sue Leadbelly, Robert Johnson, etc? That was an amusing try. Mighty white of you--considering all the examples you point out are, indeed, white. LOL!

  • @kurd55 god your dumb, muddy waters stole from son house. buddy guy and chuck berry stole from t bone walker. there named so 'black blues musicians' cause race obviously seems to matter to you.

  • @deafnblind77Jesus you fan-boys are prissy, sensitive, & stupid. Eric Clapton & the Stones never got sued because they had the integrity to list who wrote the music they were covering. Led Zeppelin did not--ergo they were sued--SUCCESSFULLY. We're not talking merely influences, you abject idiot. We're talking about ripping off actual songs. I don't remember the Beatles being sued for plagiarism, but George got sued successfully. Learn the difference between plagiarism & "influence," dipshit.

  • @deafnblind77 actually the beatles were sued you idiot. come together was stolen from a chuck berry song called you cant catch me. on the zeppelin cases they were in trouble for the lyrics because the music completely different and plant used the original lyrics as his way of saluting or tipping his hat to his heroes. learn something before you start talking you dumbass

  • @deafnblind77 Actually Come Together is an original song from The Beatles, influenced by Chuck Berry, but it's an original song.

  • @tokiluv1 actually its not, thats why lennon had to cover chuck berry songs on one of his solo albums, he uses chuck's melody and one of his lyrics

  • Thanks for posting. Saw them at the Kingdom in Seattle in 79 I think it was. It was fuckin crazy. psychic in Seattle predicted the vibration from the music would collapse the building. Am happy to say most of us got out alive, Naw, I really don't remember much of it. On the other hand how much of more than thirty years ago do you remember? eh?

  • I'm SO sick of yt jackasses talking about how zeppelin wasn't good live. they were the BEST live band ever known to fucking mankind. the IMPROVISATION alone, the hours of one-of-a-kind shows, night after night for years, the way the band meshed seamlessly together, not rehearsed/choreographed, jimmy's guitar/robert's voice sounding like one. giving the audience immense joy every time. are these people deaf or stupid? LISTEN to this song, and STFU.

  • @RockAndFunk Amen to that ;)

  • @RockAndFunk Actually I always thought Queen was best live. But thats just personal opinion.

  • @RedWolf3487 Early Zep were the best live. But Queen were the most consistent band ever, and they easily translated there music through the 80s. But who knows what sort of music Zepp would have made in the 80s, they had the groove for it. Trampled Under Foot was just phenomenal. Zepps peak were to short. 1968-1975. 1976-1978 i have to admit they werent great. But in 1979 they were briliant and comming back with vengeance.

  • @RockAndFunk there are ofcourse a few live versions that suck, but i agree, most are verry very very good :O!

  • seriously...what happened to Robert Plant's voice?

  • @beardigady well after 7 years of howling and screaming very high notes his voice kinda got messed up :\

  • @beardigady

have you ever seen/heard him live? obviously NOT.

  • Comment removed

  • I came 624 times.

  • Stop fighting. You either enjoy it or not. End of story. Sit back and enjoy life, mkay?

  • shit donkeys

  • Agreed. Autotune? Autotune? We don't need no stinking Autotune!

But Jimmy Page used an array of electronics in practically 100% of Led Zeppelin recordings -- even the granddaddy (or grandmama) of electronic effects - the Theremin.

I thought Cher's autotune Cher-bot effect in Believe is a message to singers who rely on effects - "I really don't think you're strong enough" to stand on talent alone.

Check out Leadbelly's version of Gallow's Pole -- search with Gallis as the spelling of gallows.

  • "the bands of yesterday KICK A** over the bands of today. There's too much reliance on technology making "modern music" that doesn't seem open hearted."

You must be talking about Leadbelly.

  • @billo321 all this machinery making modern music can still be open hearted

  • @BudAntics not so coldly charted, it's real just a question of your honesty.

  • @JubeProductions i was hoping someone knew their rush

  • 25 dislikes? I think I hear the four horsemen of the Apocalypse saddlin' up now. Seriously. Zeppelin forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just want to be there and trippin on some good stuff:O) I LOVE LED ZEPPELIN

  • 1:25 DO IT!

  • crap, now i have to find kurd55's comment......

  • 25 people are deaf.

  • @popsucks111 You're right about that. Oh, and they're fuckin' stupid, too.

  • Agreed Kurd, the bands of yesterday KICK A** over the bands of today. There's too much reliance on technology making "modern music" that doesn't seem open hearted.

  • @jtmedina64 Good point bro

  • ........so one in forty has no taste at all.....

  • 25 dislikes? Goddamn what the fucks happening.

  • i love the LED but in my opinion they play sloppy live

  • great...now i need to go find kurd55's comments -___-

  • Very often whenever I listen to some of the mainstream stuff today, listening to Zeppelin reminds me of true music again...\m/....Zeppelin forever....best thing to happen to the human race.....\m/

  • @thekitmaestro i agree

  • This was actually pretty fuckin 3pic.

  • Thank God you didn't get caught filming this, Peter Grant would have kicked your ass!...lol...

  • The intro is so cool. Whenever I listen to this song, I feel all chill in the beginning, and then as the song goes I start to sing along.

  • @Manito275 "The intro is so cool." -- This is the song that got me hooked on Zeppelin. Great tune and it's only the tip of the iceberg.

  • ╭∩╮(︶︿︶)╭∩╮ for those who disliked led zeppelin

  • Led Zeppelin is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
