Everyone I speak to, their main complaint is the abuse and fraud of the welfare system and the food subsidies. Obama's community service experience was all about getting the governent to pay the way for people who chose not to work. He still does not GET IT that government money is working people's money paid into the government via TAXES. It is FREE government money. I've been doing this kind of stuff for a living in private business for almost 10 years now and this method of data warehousing/intelligence is making and saving businesses big dollars. There is nothing political about using systems and software to analyze the medicare/medicaid data to look for and identify fraud or identify inefficiencies. What you do or don't do with the results of the data ARE political however. I won't speculate on motives, but not allowing IBM to do this makes no sense.

1. Notice that Palmisano said that he could reduce fraud in the healthcare system, not Medicare.

Instead of buying the troubled mortgages and derivatives from the banks, et. al., it lent enormous sums to the banks and insurance companies which urgently needed to raise cash or succumb to bankruptcy. Much of the money TARP lent has been paid back. Now, Obama's "stimulus" has done nothing, & he's tripled Bush's contribution to the debt in 1/4 the time.

I've been doing this kind of stuff for a living in private business for almost 10 years now and this method of data warehousing/intelligence is making and saving businesses big dollars. There is nothing political about using systems and software to analyze the medicare/medicaid data to look for and identify fraud or identify inefficiencies. What you do or don't do with the results of the data ARE political however. I won't speculate on motives, but not allowing IBM to do this makes no sense.

I don't get it, IBM helped governments before. They provided the machines to help the Germans count the Jews they killed and Prescott Bush made a bundle! Why not have them in the pie of Medicare/Medicaid. They can decide if your grandparents are deadbeats and kick them to the curb.
