It increases the range (and fire rate, if you upgrade it) of all towers in its range.

Yes. That's why in this video (and all my other btd videos) almost all my towers are boosted by a monkey beacon.
alright i get it now but to be honest i tried it out and i got to 57 on easy without the tower and with it only to 55 so idk
