Yes. The sheer int from VLPC is amazing and since the buff it's damage is great too. Additionally I'm an engi so I already have 2 clicky items.

I have the tier12 4set bonus, should i use you Arcane Power on Cooldown or wait to use it in the burn phase? (aka around 30 seconds before Evocation is ready again)

If you know the duration of the fight and using it on CD will cause you to get 1 more AP before the boss dies then do so, otherwise line it up with evo/gem. :)

Hi!! Love your vids. I see you're an engineering mage. I was wondering which would be better. As a mage who still has to use the moonwell should I stick with the moonwell or should I use the gloves for the burn phase for better ?

For the initial burn you can use both to some degree - use orb+pot pre pull obviously, then pre first cast use engi gloves, cast 5-6 times to get all your int procs up, use a mana gem+AP+chalice(As soon as the 1-2 more seconds of gloves fall off) that way you get a pumped up mana gem and chalice for the burn. That's more or less what I do with my shard.

1.5m before the pull, click it off for 2 arc potency's. After that you can use it on your 4th cast pre AP or after AP with pot and maybe other procs still up. Either or. As for during the fight, try and use it at a 4 stack with some kind of proc up while being careful not to waste a clearcasting's arcane potency. If it's a movement fight like rag during engulfing, as long as you plan to make use of it around it's CD time it's best to save it for when you have you move back and forth.

About the soft cap - no, not at all. Going to the softcap or mastery is ~400 ratings different because you probably have ~1300 haste from gear alone. 400 isn't a big deal one way or the other, completely a preference thing and what you think is best for you.

Mostly macros like:

So that I save key space. There's a few other ones where it combines an ability or two but for the most part macros for mages are just for convenience, nothing that really changes DPS. :)

Hey Fullmaster! As a fellow mage, I was wondering if I could get some hints that could point me in the right direction. On our last Baleroc HC kill, I only managed to pull out 24.2k dps with an average gear lvl of 379. My trinkets are the DMC: Volcano and Rune of Zeth, which increases the SP I get from my mana gem. Buffs beneficial to my class is only 5% haste and critt - we don't have either a lock, ele shaman or boomkin. Do you think this might be the reason to my low dps?

@Pr1mus89 You gotta look at it like this mate, Lets say you had an the extra damage (+10% all in all)~+ 26k DPS - not bad (not good either) Now are you on crystals - did you get linked a lot? WE NEED MORE DATA!

If I had to offer one suggestio Spam macros where pressing "1" spams the key so you don't miss GCDs

1 = 11111

~25 isn't bad for 378ilvl l with low trinkets- currently hold a top 200 rank for H-Bale10 and I rock 388 Gear (no shard or legendary) @35k which I would say is insanely good!

For me to hit haste soft cap i have to reforge out of almost all my mastery and crit, is it worth it?

It depends by how much you mean, it sounds like you're in low amounts of gear. Losing crit is definitely worth it, as compared to the other two it's the worst stat, as far as mastery; it's probably even more worth it if you have less gear as you're getting less use out of mastery because of your lower levels of mana then someone in better gear. :)

Hey, so I have a macro that I use every start of fight it consists of Arcane power, Mirror image, mana gem, volcanic potion, soul casket. Though I do like it and hit up to 120k crits in 356 ilvl, I do end up wasting arcane power off cd just cause I wait for everything to be off cd so it would be 2 minutes then I pop it again. Should I take the arcane power out? Or keep it? I could be using it possibly 1-2 more depending on fight but is it really needed for dps boost? thanks much you helped a lot

Hi Fullmaster, fellow Arc mage here. I dont have access to SOW, VPLC, or HTM, but i do have MWC, DMC:V, Rune of Zeth and Normal TM. Which would you suggest for going with MWC? The static int buff is nice, but ive had way way way more luck with the proc on DMC:V.

As much personal bias I have against using Mirror because I hate its proc rate so much; HM Mirror and Chalice because DMC is a proc as well. Using flame orb before the pull and every AP after really does help with Mirror's chances of being useful. The initial burn with it proc'd + Chalice is really yummy. Two +int trinkets makes for a ton more mana back from mage armor/evo. I like to think of it as.. You can get mastery (DMC) from reforging etc, but you can't reforge to int.

DMC is nice for initial burst, Chalice's CD lines up perfectly with many other CDs, lasts longer for your initial burn, and has a ton of int compared to plain mastery. I would put Chalice above it. I didn't mention it because I felt if I did I'd have to talk about soul casket, normal mirror, and so forth.

In general yes, unless the fight length doesn't net you an addition AP by doing so, aka, a very short fight.

You can't see the hit from my helm because it's a random stat helm and it doesn't translate to the armory. :(
