@jazzsoccer101 Me too! This will be my 2nd year in track! I am not good yet ( I ran 17 sec my first 100 m sprint). That's bad. Eventually i got up to 16.01, and even that is not good. I am hoping that I will get faster this year!
@efisgpr Thank you so much!! It's encouragement from people like you that keep me trying no matter how discouraging it gets sometimes. I'm 17 right now and a junior in high school. I started when i was 16. I want to go out a winner and win a race before I leave high school.
@efisgpr Thank you so much for offering to give me advice. I'm open to anything that might help me get better. please tell me what to do and I would be extremly grateful!
@phaethon1988 well no i looked it up its not the legpress where u push it away vertical. that would have been impossilbe. u push it away in a 45° ankle so you push 700 but it feels like 350
@MrBusunglueck It is understood that it isn't done vertically, and a 45degree incline doesn't cut the effort in half. I've read several magazine articles that state that a 17year old Allyson Felix legpresses 700 pounds (which equates to 317 kilograms). You have to admit that it is a phenomenal feat for a person of her build nonetheless. And I've read of Ben doing 350 for SQUATS not leg press.
@MrBusunglueck **FACEPALM** .......*sigh* ........ok, look NO leg press is like lifting a weight through the AIR. Reason being, it's supported on the machine & moving at an angle -- i.e. NOT 100% against gravity. You don't lift it straight up. If you knew basic physics OR biomechanics, you'd know the ABCs of what you're talking about, yet you do not. Despite this, you think you do. I'm trying to say this nicely, but you have no clue what you're talking about. Do not reply again.
@efisgpr if u do legpress at 90 degrees you dont move at an angle you idiot. because u lift it straight up. most legpresses are at an 45 degree angle though. wich means u need the radix of 2 devided by 2 power than normally. actually im a lot better in physics than u it turns out

She needs to beef up in order to beat Campbell Brown. Allson is always my favourite sprinter and I hope she wins that Olympic gold in London.
karuitha 5 months ago
@karuitha - she actually has beefed up and is slower in both the 200 and 400 than previous years.

@phaethon1988 when u do a 90 degree legpress ull do as much weight as sqauts. and ben johnson did sqaut 600 pounds for 4 reps.
MrBusunglueck 5 months ago
@MrBusunglueck what are you talking about? one can usually leg press more. after all, you don't have to lift your body too...for one thing
efisgpr 1 month ago
@efisgpr ofc. thats why when u do 90° legpress u count the weight minus your bodyweight
