No, it's due to the fact, that he did a compulsory routine. There shouldn't be seen a flavour of a Master. But if you see Wang Erping performing Lao Jia, then you'll see the influence of Chen Zhenglei.
As far as I know, Ding Jie learned from Chen Xiaowang.

In his early days he learned from Chen Xiaowang and Wang Xian, then later from Chen Zhenglei, which influenced him most.
