@AustinMiller325 Yeah the detector picked up the radar box too. most radars will pick those up, it can be annoying --- it will also pick up those construction signs that have the electronics mounted on them which can be annoying as hell. nonetheless he slowed down in time. the detector really stopped freaking out once he passed the radar box, i think the boxes are the Ka band (radar) they are not laser.
On a road trip, use Highway, as your device will be sensitive to all bands at all times.
In local urban driving (especially routes you use frequently) set it to CityNoX (X band blocked, decreased sensitivity) or Auto mode, in which sensitivity to various bands will be determined by your vehicle's actual speed.
Personally I switch back and forth between Highway for longer trips and Auto for urban/suburban driving.
$400 plus piece of fine radar detector hung like a cheap Cobra. Level that detector young man.

Does this alert you for any cop in the area? Or do they have to be using their radar/laser?

@xkakashix12 if their guns are turned on it's going to pick it up, if the guns are not turned on it won't pick it up. it's that simple.

Depends on where you do most of your driving.
On a road trip, use Highway, as your device will be sensitive to all bands at all times.
