We used to play this game back in the mid-90s, and in a 2-player game, those who played the character JAX used to cheat big time. JAX had this move called the ground smash where he would punch the ground, and your opponent would lose energy equivalent to about a punch. There was no way you could block that movement. If you want to execute that move, you had to hold down the LK button for about 4 seconds, then release.

@paintballman1987 Yeah the flame guy is Blaze, called Torch originally but was only introduced as playable later.

Hornbuckle is a sort of fan thing like Ermac and MK I, Jade and Smoke hint at it in MK2 after someone in the credits called Hornbuckle but fans gave it to that character, which is nothing more than a Liu Kang skin but in green and not red.

@dalmatian123 ah ok well i never really played the MK armagedon or deception or shaolin monks. for me mortal kombat ended with 1, 2, 3 and 4 and now MK 9 witch is ironicly 1, 2 en 3.

Because the story was sutch simpeler after 4 their were alot of new characters and plots and also the gameplay kinda sucked in deception and armagedon i am sorry to say this but it's a well known fact for us mortal kombat fans.

Wow, you're good at MK II. To be honest, a few minutes ago I played it for the first time, I played as Sub-Zero and I made it to Shao Kahn before I died. =/ Shang Tsung is annoying though. The worst two are Reptile and the mirror match (Sub-Zero)

MK2 has by far the best audio tunes. Background music, the fight announcers voice, the little sounds warriors make (I like Liu Kangs), the gravity of the hitting and kicking. Blood flying around which is missing in the new versions

I like MKII and III more than the others. I find it oke that MK is still popular but 9 versions is over the top
