Cracking vids boys! Top editing too. What camera are you using? I'm planning a similar monster trip for April. 5000m and a month.. I just got a Flip Ultra HD for it..
Any tips on something this long? apart from avoiding riding on grass?!
Cracking videos fellas, top editing too. I'm planning a similar trip for April, about a month and 5000 miles.. What camera are you using? I've got a Flip Ultra hd, made a wind reducer for it n bought a wide lens, hopin it be be sufficient!
Any tips? Filming or touring! (must remember not to ride on grass)
@RichyVida I used a DSLR Canon 550D. I took a similar camera to a flip last year, but I soon found 'HD' doesn't really mean much when it comes to quality and frames per second etc. Filming tips, I would say just don't stop! I took about 250GB of memory (because my camera uses about 4GB per 30 mins) and I ran out and had to buy some more! The unexpected things were always the best, and you'll be very surprised how much people are willing to help you out with anything when you're on a bike!
@RichyVida Also, in Italy, ride like a twat and you'll fit in with the rest of the traffic! Sat nav tom tom motorcycle...I forget its name...was a great purchase if you're looking to save time. For the past 2 years we have found it to be 'faulty' and took it back after haha, too expensive...
@jonbird2002 yeah i got a Garmin with full 2012 Europe Maps so hoping it will be cool. Been trying to write up a 'rough' itinerary for days now. Don't want to plan exact but just so we have some kind of aim in a day. Never toured on bike so can't wait. How many miles per day were you boys aiming on? When we arrive in Bilbao, we got a 500/8hr ride down to the Villa in Torrevieja (1st stretch after ferry) gonna be a killer i suspect!
@RichyVida How many of you are going? The first year, the longest stint we ever did was 500 miles and it certainly was a killer! Fully laden and stuff, you should expect that ride to take 12hours+ tbh. Petrol stops, wee stops, toll booths, bike problems etc is obviously so much worse the more people you have. Spain is our destination this year I think...
@jonbird2002 Just me and my old man so far mate. Goin straight to the villa for few days chillin, then over to Jerez Moto GP nr Portugal, then pretty much back towards Valencia, up into Andorra/Pyrenees, across France toward Italy, Austria, Germany wherever really. Did you do Stelvio or Grossglockner in Austria? Looks amazing...
@RichyVida Sounds awesome man. We did Stelvio this year, after failing last year (which is quite a funny video, I'll post that one up soon). It's closed very often for all sorts of reasons, its falling to pieces in places, very snowy and they host loads of events on it. In our case it was blocked by a boulder and a JCB haha!
