For those of you who don't know, this is footage of a battle circle, where skaters take turns stepping into the circle and performing thier most flashy moves to impress the crowd. It's a large part of jamskating, but it is'nt all of what jamskating is about. Please don't bash the sport based on what you see from a single video. Look at some of the better skater's nationals routines. That's where you'll see some of the more difficult footwork, shuffling, and spins and jumps.

Well they enjoy what they do is all i can say.Just dont go to one of their competitions doing good actual rolling skate moves and expect to place.Went to the one they just had dec 4 thru 6 and if you rolled down the floor doing difficult moves you got penalized and booed.Wanting to talk about being indifferent bout the styles and getting with it and all..thats just funny.They also had supposed shuffle comp. at the end.These two poor girls didnt even know how to roll down floor lol

exactly whichi is why i stick to JB and freestyle. JB has a lot of footwork involved and freestyle is like idk how to explain it. its not jam tho... i got vids that show my freestyle stuff from when i first started. i gotta get me my JB stuff on tape
Sorry to tell ya, BUT......This is Break-skating. Sports Don't EVOLVE.
There are several different types of skating styles. Check out "Blazinfilms", documentary of skating in Central Park. I'm not being rude, or angry in any way, it is very difficult to break-skate, and this guy IS very talented.
How come the new jamskaters look so choppy? It's not the difficulty of the move but how smooth you look doing it. To this day I have never encountered a smooth jam skater or as I call it cleaning the floor. Skating is rolling, spinning etc, not breakdancing.
All of this IS real jamskating. Jamskating is a mixture of many different dance styles and skating, it just so happens that the current trend is breakdancing. Sports evolve over time, so of course it isnt the same as it was in the 70's, and in 2030 it wont be the same as it is now.
right kinda crazy im memba bak in the 90s wen i Rex skated (jam SKate) same diff, i was probably the only one who implemented break dancing into it and now its like thats the majority kinda crazy
this is amazing but a lil too much B-boy stuff towards the end.. i do more of the stuff in the beginning but not all the breakdancing stuff.. my rink is retarded and doesnt allow us to do all that fancy stuff so i usually never get any practice with it..

exactly whichi is why i stick to JB and freestyle. JB has a lot of footwork involved and freestyle is like idk how to explain it. its not jam tho... i got vids that show my freestyle stuff from when i first started. i gotta get me my JB stuff on tape

Sorry to tell ya, BUT......This is Break-skating. Sports Don't EVOLVE.
There are several different types of skating styles. Check out "Blazinfilms", documentary of skating in Central Park. I'm not being rude, or angry in any way, it is very difficult to break-skate, and this guy IS very talented.

How come the new jamskaters look so choppy? It's not the difficulty of the move but how smooth you look doing it. To this day I have never encountered a smooth jam skater or as I call it cleaning the floor. Skating is rolling, spinning etc, not breakdancing.

All of this IS real jamskating. Jamskating is a mixture of many different dance styles and skating, it just so happens that the current trend is breakdancing. Sports evolve over time, so of course it isnt the same as it was in the 70's, and in 2030 it wont be the same as it is now.

right kinda crazy im memba bak in the 90s wen i Rex skated (jam SKate) same diff, i was probably the only one who implemented break dancing into it and now its like thats the majority kinda crazy

this is amazing but a lil too much B-boy stuff towards the end.. i do more of the stuff in the beginning but not all the breakdancing stuff.. my rink is retarded and doesnt allow us to do all that fancy stuff so i usually never get any practice with it..
