  • @namasteywhat Sure....and Ted Bundy said that he got his motivation from raping women from porn. Honest and for true...because James Dobson said so.

Of course, the fact that Chrissy Moran and Nadia Styles happen to be ex-performers turned born again Christians supporting Lubben's fundamentalist ministry have nothing to do with their agreement with her core analysis, right??

Don't believe everything you read...or, read from all sides of the story.

    Anthony

  • @slubben Ahhh, Ministeress?? Last time I checked, none of the starlets you quoted (not even Jenna) claimed to universalize their personal experiences as representative of every single porn starlet. Nor did they refer to all porn performers as "diseased", "drug addled" or mentally ill.

Shelley, if you want to decry hypocrisy, you might want to look in the mirror. It reflects it right back at you..in spades.

  • @AnthonyJKenn Anthony, please remind me -- when was it that the definition of "I" was changed to mean "everybody"?

  • Wow, this was interesting to read.

I have a couple quick comments.

First of all, Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick, Christy Canyon and a slew of other porn stars write books and they are applauded by the porn industry and even promoted. Interesting enough, they too write about the abuse, drugs and cut-throat biz. But if Shelley Lubben dare writes a book and tries to promote it then she's a liar.

The porn industry never ceases to prove its hypocrisy.

  • None of them claim that all porn performers are mentally ill, diseased, drug addicted trained seals, as you do. They don't claim that 20 year olds are too stupid to understand a simple model release. They don't call porn modern day slavery. They don't fail to account for non-cash contributions on their taxes. And these are not the only reasons you're a liar and a fraud-- we've proven your lies FROM YOUR OWN LIPS in our documentary. Lots more to come. Brace yourself for a whole new round, babe.

  • @slubben To add to Michael's response, they also don't claim to dance in front of an alter and hex people with an eight-foot staff. Why were you such a mess standing at the lectern during the debate? Who really is the hypocrite here? You could be doing the industry some good, but you're too stuck on yourself to care. You'd rather make a rap album with the money people give you. Hand out a few stupid boxes full of dumb girlie things. What the hell is wrong with you?

  • An examination of Pink Cross Foundation's 2009 tax returns reveals that Pink Cross paid approximately 39 percent of its cash donations to Lubben as salary and benefits (not including her travel, meals, hotels and incidentals). In all likelihood, she collected 100%. Her husband purchased $1000 worth of the rap CDs she produced.

But, if you can reach just 1 person.

  • @khbkb where are you finding these statistics? it would be more believable if you posted a credible source.

  • @namasteywhat If I was in charge of selling booth space at porn conventions, I wouldn't give any religious group the time of day. You don't see me standing inside or outside a church waving around a HUSTLER, do you?

  • @namasteywhat So, a few people agree with Lubben, and MANY many more disagree - -yet you claim that only those with a negative view are correct. And in any case, I don't know that any of these people are qualified to diagnose anyone as mentally ill. Certainly not Lubben, who herself was diagnosed as Bipolar, and prescribed lithium and zoloft, -- but of course she doesn't need to take those medications now because God told her he healed her. That's your oracle, your prophet. Spare me.

  • @namasteywhat No dude, I've seen her book advertised on pro porn blogs like Luke is Back. It's IS because she gives them money. One of my contacts in the industry said that they were very upset that Lubben was invited to one of these conventions. Yes the people selling her the booth are retarded, but that's a small group of people at AVN.

I just answered the clue phone, and he's looking for you.

  • @namasteywhat I've interviewed Lubben's contemporaries and co-stars, INDEPENDENTLY of each other, and they all tell the same story -- 180 degrees apart from what Shelley claims. Shelley has NO evidence that what she claims is true. NONE. Now that she looks back on her brief time in porn with a religious perspective she even claims that SATRAN himself actually entered her body to help her get through a gang bang. The Devil. Does that sound rational to you?

  • @namasteywhat No, she goes after porn stars, call them sick, mentally ill, possessed by Satan, drug addicted, etc... She fosters a stereotype which represents ONE OF THE PRIMARY REASONS WHY ex-porn stars have difficulty re-integrating into the "straight," non-porn world. And, for the record "all the ex-film stars" do NOT agree with Shelley. In addition, I'd be more inclined to accept Lubben's story if ANYONE who was there with her at that time remembers events as she does now.

  • Lubben makes a good living off this 'charity' gig, and even gets to pay her husband as an 'employee'!

Plus she gets to dress like a hooker and hang around porn conventions while feeling morally superior, AND to top it all off she gets her plastic mug on tv once in a while.

Oh and also, they invite her back because she pays for the booth. It's not like they give her a free space - I've seen her financial statements the charity spends the majority of its money on her wages and these conventions.

  • Her "dead porn stars" video...oy gevalt.

My favorite part of that farce is the ones that died from car accidents and heart attacks....because of PORN!

  • @BobChaos23 Missy was out of porn for SEVEN years before she died. Yet she finds herself on Lubbens dps video. Sick.

Also, Ive seen you right in the middle of the war between the sex+'s and the antis. So hello, I'm 3ach, nice to meet you.

  • @BobChaos23 I know. That had me scratching my cranium for a fair while too.

    Farcical.

  • They invite you back to the conventions because you give them money, Shelley.

  • Excellent description bar commentary! I had no idea just how clinically ill she was. I thought she was just a run of the mill type of nutbar out for a bit of attention, but there seems to be a little more to her craziness. :)

  • All I'm saying is that you guys are trying too hard to demonize this woman and its suspiciousness! If this is her experience in porn and we deny her voice then we're just reproducing the violence she's experienced. Are there people who have positive life experiences through porn? Absolutely, but that doesn't and shouldn't invalidate this woman's truth and lived experience.

  • @MarkBerkeley It's only suspicious because she has made claims of fact which she has not proved, some which are unprovable by anyone, and others which are patently false. When someone like Lubben, whose substantial livelihood depends upon her passing herself off as a victim of porn, passes off lies, distortions and assumptions as facts, one must doubt her motives. Why not simply come clean?

She has offered NO PROOF that this was her "lived experience."

  • @MarkBerkeley Instead, she uses inflammatory terms like "rape" to describe her time in porn. "Rape" has a definition, and consensual employment which SHE sought (no one kidnapped her) for which she signed a contract and model release, for which she was paid (she cashed the checks) and for which she filed NO police report DOES NOT QUALIFY. If she's remorseful about her terrible life choices, that's not the fault of he adult film industry. She sure has no problem cashing in on her time in porn now

  • @MarkBerkeley Showing that someone has made up numbers is not demonizing them. In fact, if these numbers could be shown by the anti-porn side to be true, then it would strengthen THEIR position, not weaken or demonize it.

Being asked for sources is often taken as an insult by anyone who claims to have been done wrong or victimized in some way. But, remember, every claim should be open to scrutiny when it comes to things like statistics. Wouldn't you rather argue from a position of truth?

  • The "111 AIDS deaths" comes from using the number of deaths among men who appeared in gay porn. Remember, straight porn tests performers BEFORE they’re allowed to enter the talent pool, and monthly thereafter, while the gay side does not do any testing.

There’s no system in place from keeping HIV+ men out of gay porn and no way to track where the gay performers became infected - outside the industry or in it. People with AIDS making porn movies before they died doesn't mean porn killed them.

  • MichaeWhiteacre, just seems like your trying too hard to malign this women. Makes me wonder what MichaelWhiteacre's agenda is?

  • @MarkBerkeley How is it that I am maligning someone when I'm using their own words? Shelley Lubben's worst enemy is herself.

My agenda? I believe that sunlight is the best disinfectant. I believe the truth can and will set you free. I hope and pray that she gets the help she has needed for so very long. Furthermore, I am ashamed to see organizations who are supposed to promote the public interest trotting out a sick woman for their own ends. She's like Norman Beale in "Network."

  • Its funny the length the "porn industry" goes to to demoize this women. I'm beginning to think that rather than being "crazy," there's an element of truth behind her comments.

  • @MarkBerkeley The lengths the industry goes to? This is a clip of her speaking in public. There's no commentary on the video. Nothing she says here is true. 111 people in the adult industry died of AIDS? She is lying.

Look at the tax returns for Pink Cross Foundation (they're on her website). She paid herself just under $50,000 in salary and benefits in 2009 out of the $125,000 Pink Cross received in donations. That doesn't include her travel, hotels & incidentals.

  • @MarkBerkeley Lubben claims she has a Bachelor's of Theology degree from Vision International University -- a non-accredited college and diploma mill. But Vision’s website doesn’t offer that degree, it only offers a Bachelor of Ministry degree.

She says she’s an ordained Chaplain of the Order of St. Martin - a non-charity group whose address is a single-family home in Mission Viejo, CA. Becoming a Chaplain means you fill out some paperwork and get a letter from your local Body of Christ.

  • @MarkBerkeley Um lets see.... Shelley has admitted that she had unprotected sex as a prostitute, yet says that she never got an STD until she did porn. Shes lying and you and her disciples are too stupid to realize that she is lying in front of your face!
