This show is so tremendously successful thanks to the brilliant writers and to Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch. They have the perfect chemistry when they're together- (they say so themselves!) and each of them play his character so well you can't watch and not love them from the very second. I watched the 2 seasons and the pilot and I'm really curious about season #3. Sherlock isn't like Sheldon Cooper. Right,They're both genius- but other than that,they are nothing alike.

I love this show! Benedict's Sherlock is amazing - He does an amazing job. His sociopathic personality is really true to the books.

To those narrow minded people who judge before they see the actual thing, watch it! Seriously, you won't be disappointed. Just the right amount of plot twists, excitement, detective work, humour and charm.

@elliexx242 Well, genuine trailers for Sherlock would be made by Hartswood Films, the BBC, PBS or some other international broadcaster for air on their channels. A fan-made trailer is produced by an independent individual without endorsement from any of those companies, and it wouldn't be broadcast, just put on YouTube or whatever. (incidentally, note the complete lack of any logos, broadcast or production) :)

Okay, I love TBBT and all, but are we honestly at a point in the world where people compare Sherlock to Sheldon Cooper, and not the other way round? How can you watch a trailer for someone as infamous in literature as Sherlock Holmes and think "Well, he reminds me of Sheldon Cooper, this is promising." I mean...dayum.

Not really sure where the "gay" comments are coming from. Anyone who watches the show and has also watched The Big Bang Theory can see the similarities between Holmes and Sheldon Cooper. @NeyronFiction 1) Because it is very unique and interesting. Holmes is a character known thruought the world today, why not bring him forwards in time? After all, they did a show about a modern day Jack the Ripper called "White Chapel".

2) Holmes is known for wearing long coats, although it is usually a trench coat so I don't know what you think is wrong with that. You're disgusting, prejudiced and living in the past if you have something wrong with someone's sexuality.
