  • Awesome..... In God We Trust..

  • Beautiful story indeed. I am from Crete myself and i felt quite touched. I also appreciate the effort of the Priest to popularize morals and approach youth but the amount of Blasphemy used here could be reduced a bit lol.

  • wow amazing story. Thanks!!

  • fantabulous!

  • A snake oil salesman promises us miracles for turning our back on the world. This is the condensed version of your sermon, without the pretty images and absurd pathos

"Sacrifice everything you know and hold dear-for it is just worthless dust, as all humans are-and instead become the slave of some sort of immortal wizard"

Even in the context of the story itself this is a bad ending! "Let dust go to the wind?" Are you telling me its noble to just throw away your background and submit?

  • amazing story "PERIOD"

  • loved it.

  • Wonderful, wonderful.

    Pace e bene.

  • this video is just great.

  • He says the story really nice. Very inspiring story, very true, thank you

  • So true!

  • The Vatican City is a city-state that came into existence in 1929 and is thus clearly distinct from the central authority of the Roman Catholic Church, known as the Holy See, which existed long before 1929.

  • yes located 7 mountains as the whore of revelation 17....................read it.....dare to read it

  • "dare to read it"

I have read rev 17. It was believed to have been written during or shortly after Nero's reign & like as not refers to pagan Rome, which would encompass 7 hills, not just 1.

  • Further rev 17 says: There are also 7 kings. 5 have fallen, 1 is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for a little while. The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.

  • When Rev 17 was written, the early Christians (Catholics) had not had as many as 6 bishops of Rome. Therefore, 5could not have fallen already.

There had, however, been previous pagan Caesars-a much more plausible explanation.

  • A & O: Now concerning your PM to me saying Jesus was not referring to Peter as a rock but "just a little pebble."

In Koine Greek, both petros and petra simply meant "rock." If Jesus had wanted to call Simon a small stone, the Greek lithos would have been used.

  • @Catholicisgood Jesus is THE Rock, and the revelation Peter had that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God is what Jesus has built His church upon. Peter was a minister of the gospel of grace through faith in Jesus and an apostle, planting churches to spread the good news. The Pope, respectfully, is just a minister of the same - not to be worshiped and not infallible, as he is human and capable of error.

  • @hokyfenoky Kepha means rock, and I do believe when Jesus said "upon this rock I will buld my church" he meant it. Pope Benedict has stated himself to be a servant of God. Respectfully, we do not worship the pope. Infallability is applied only to statements made Ex Cathedra and has seldomly been used. The conditions for infallability are often misunderstood. The pope and the magesterium's primary function is to safeguard the truth and proclaim the truth of the Gospel.

  • @hokyfenoky Yes the Pope is human and yes he is capable of error. But God is not capable of error and He promised Peter that the gates of hell would not prevail against him. He gave Peter the power to bind and loose. Matt 16:13-20. Now everyone knows that Jesus is the head of the Church, but since Jesus is not physically present on Earth, He gave Peter the keys. But what would happen when Peter died? Someone would succeed him :) Catholicisgood has a good post on infallibility.

  • Matthew was written in Aramaic—we know this from records kept by Eusebius of Caesarea. Jesus spoke Aramaic. 4 times in Gal and four times in 1 Cor—we have the Aramaic form of Simons new name. In our English Bibles it comes out as Cephas. That isnt Greek. Thats a transliteration of the Aramaic word Kepha or rock, the same as petra. Jesus said to Simon in Matthew 16:18: You are Kepha, and on this kepha I will build my Church.

  • "VATIS CAN"?

That's hilarious. The Latin word is "VATICANUS".

What are you reading? or who?

  • thats hilarious,...but let me ask you a question...how did the first christians celibrate christianity ...?

  • @Archangeloftheandes As Jews. ^.^ Justin Martyr, an ancient historian who wrote to the Roman emperor about the Christians, actually answers your question. Look him up, and he can give you a historical perspective.

  • Wow! This was awesome :D

  • papsttreu: Thanks for forwarding to me...I agree! "Awesome"!

  • It a good message people! He was just being funny in the begining. He doesn't really think God is a suspender wearing beer drinking burrly guy! What is so wrong about a Christian man telling his congregation that without God you have nothing and with God you can have EVERYTHING?!?

  • He was just at St John bosco in Parma Hts ohio. He was awesome spread the word!

  • Fr. Larry speaks the truth in love! He is not concerned with what people think contrary to other people's comments. He LOVES God and wants others to do the same. His message is simple, truthful and to the point. I saw him just this past weekend and he was just as great! It's not about him...it's about HIM- Christ! Fr. Larry is a perfect vessel to reach many people with God's message. Rock on Fr. Larry!

  • HAHAHA we watched this in religion class. he yells alot.

  • Ahhh, the AllSeethingEye strikes again... if only you wouldn't go for the crude backhands your point wouldn't be lost. It's clear this man has disillusioned you and I'm sure a score of others. I've ran into my fair share of priests who join the priesthood to be heard, but not to communicate. This appears to be another sad case.

  • Father JayWings, aren't you AllSeeingEye?. Very similar channels, not very smart.

  • you sad silly little cocksucker

  • I love this parable! It's on a cassette called "The Truth." It's so down to earth & straight forward! I also have a Fr. Larry cassette called "The Mass Explained" and CD about confession from the Mary Foundation. Listening to them along with "Changed Forever" on Relevant Radio are the reasons why I'm going thru RCIA to become Catholic!

  • This Man is my Pastor::::: He has saved my life. I Love him.

  • Amen, good to hear that Jesus Saved you through Fr. Larry, one of His instruments.

  • oh. my. gosh.

i envy you SO MUCH.... I am seriously considering moving to pennsylvania just because of his church, haha!!

  • He did my sister and brother in law's wedding, he is a great guy. He's actually quite funny

  • dude .. i went to stuebenville. i talkd to this guy in person ... hes amazing .. and he can change the way u feel .. this guy is just amazing

  • Raise your hand if you love Fr. Larry

*Rasies hand and waves it wildly*

  • Do you worship God or Fr. Larry.

How can you compare Fr. Larry with the ONE who created the UNIVERSE?

you all Comitt Idoletry and God will Jugde it.

  • To dalelander:

Give me a break! Not one Catholic 'worships' Fr. Larry or any other priest.

They are great men of God who heard God's call and now want to follow Him & make disciples of all men.

There is no idolatry going on here.

    Peace & God bless.

    Sandy

  • dalelander: she said she LOVED fr. larry. she never compared him to God. read the thing carefully. God tells us to love.

  • Right, and you probably worship Bob Jones. Get over yourself.

    God bless Fr. Larry.

  • dalelander, you are the only one comparing Fr Larry with God. Looks to me as if you are just a little anti-Catholic.

  • yeah he is i just heard his talk this last weekend at stubenville

  • Fr Larry is God's "rock" star here on earth!

He is truely moving mountains. Listen to all his talks, you will be moved!

  • Hi' just a brotherly atvise.

Fr Larry is not the rock star, Jesus Christ is the ONLY rock star.

He is a brother in Christ just like everyone else who believes in Him, and I'm sure Fr Larry is a nice committed person to the Lord

but he is only human, try not to look up on a human being.

God said in Genisis: you shall have no other God before Me.

    God bless you

    Jeff

  • While it is important to not worship people, it is good to look up to people as a role model. I am almost done with a seminary application, I can honestly say I would not be making this application if God had not put Fr. Larry in my life.

There is a fine line between Looking up to someone and worshiping them. Trust me we need role models to look up to.

  • Right. He's no more a rock star than your favorite mega-church generic "Christian" pastor. Get over yourself.

    God bless Fr. Larry.

  • There is nothing wrong with looking up to someone or having heroes. No one posting comments on this video is worshipping or putting someone above God.

  • good message, I liked it. but Jesus is not a little boy anymore, and we should not picture Him like this.

read revelation chapter 1 verse 12-17 to get a slight picture of what Jesus looks like today.

He is risen and He rules with power and athority.

He is the Jugde and the Savior of the world and salvation is only through Him by His Blood that He shed for us.

  • yeah, but Jesus CAN be anything . He came to the man in the form that would touch him the most.

  • dalelander, what church do you go to?

  • I love this! We need to let go in order to get eternal life! Let God take over our lives and He will take care of everything!

  • Father Richards is an excellent communicator with the truth of the Church behind him. What an awesome combination. Email his videos to you family and friends and help spread the good news of Christ!

  • haha nervous? fr larry is far from nervous he is just very jumpy and energetic

  • The message is awesome, although the preacher looks like a very nervous guy. I like it.

  • Fr. Larry also needs to fix his monobrow! But oh well, he's a priest, not a movie/tv star! He's such a funny, animated, & great speaker!

  • Interesting talk. I like it.

  • I love Fr. Richards! His talk on confession is life changing

  • Another awesome message from Fr. Larry! Thanks so much for sharing this message of hope with the world!

  • This a very good question. What are we holding onto?
