Nice demonstration. I work with the LDG Z100 and manage to tune my ICOM370 which is attached to a very short inverted L-wire. No more than 14 meters, on my balcony. Just works fine, except on 80 meters, my antenna is just too short for that.
@rs4425 Have you a nice earth connected to the tuner? Another way to help is add 1/4 wave lengths for each band your trying to tune onto the earth stake.
I've never tried to tune a G5RV with it but I can't see why it wouldn't aslong as you have some coax between the 300ohm ribbon part of the antenna and the tuner.
The other thing is it might be more than a 10 - 1 mismatch.
@k6lsn Yup I sure can. Its very simple, the hot side is connected to 80m of wire in the tree, the negative side goes to my shack earth which is a 50 copper stake connected to my quarter wave radials

Very well done. Never used a tuner but just bought my first LDG tuner. I'm sure I'll be looking to getting this one when I get a nice 817ND.

Thanks for this... I can't get my 857 to tune. Can't get the green light. Maybe relocate G5RV..

Very Nice. Does the tuner have space for containing a battery?
wj2l 11 months ago
@wj2l Sure does, not only that but they lasted a year!
it takes 8 AA sized batterys or via 12v plug.
Thanks for watching
