  • Hey man. good stuff btw haha. Is the amp loud with the pre gain turned all the way up?? sorry that its a noob question but yeah haha

  • What speaker do you have in that amp?

  • i would be afraid to sleep in that room :D

  • you dont suck.. you play well and with expression. keep it up

  • Great demo!!!!!!!!!! Cool.

  • Need higher output pu's for hard rock, not enough power

  • wow !! i loved that and that stinging treble just kills

  • Звук живой игра вялая. Ещё учиться и учиться.

  • Is this just straight into the amp, no effects or overdrive?

  • Nice amp, nice playing , but this is NOT metal ! ;P

  • I just saw those 2 little girls flash before my eyes! Redrum lol. Not an over the top tone but a good generic classic rock tone from peavey. Maybe you weren't really into it like you said but its ok.

  • SWEEEEEEEEET :-)

  • Sounds great. Do you have the boost switch on, or off here? You didn't mention that in your settings. I prefer the sound of my Classic 30 with the boost off. I wish they'd made the boost foot-switchable.

  • hair like jonny from radiohead.. im getting a les paul studio with burstbuckers what amp should I get for a sound hes got in like the over the hills video? looking for a clean midrangey woody sound and ability to tweak settings to have a really crunchy screaming soloing sound (not metally tho, at all.. I want classic rockish.)

  • Would it hurt this amp if you took two of the power tubes out.

  • balonia mas ta kanes me ti koloerotisi

  • @taygoo13 you would never really need to do that with this amp. it breaks up nicely at love volumes already. theres absolutely no benefit in cutting out tubes on a classic 30. i suppose if you were hellbent on doing it though youd be able too just as long as you took out the correct ones.

  • tip to everyone...dont waste your fucking time asking this guy questions...

  • BYOC over drive classic30?

  • I guaruntee that amp will twice as awesome with the post gain dimed and the pre gain set lower.

  • @rockfreak611, you speak the truth, brotha! I have this amp and I have to say that too much preamp gain sounds like shite. Power tube saturation is the tits!

  • Comment removed

  • @taygoo13 Think Marshall plexi. that's how those things sound so good. its all in the power tube distortion

  • Comment removed

  • ? that kind of thing isn't measurable. if you want to find out, go try it out at your local music store.

  • watch?v=Dp6NVFv9YDU

that searing dirty crunch you hear in the beginning is from the the classic 30.

  • sounds a little like Outside Woman Blues.

  • the room looks like its from the film 'the shining'

  • Haha.

  • @alexgoodbourn Holy crap, good eye.

  • Is there a cooling fan on either the classic 30 or 50? If so, is it loud?

  • nope, no fan.

  • You don't suck at all. Indeed it sounded awesome.

  • What's the name of the song? It sounds familiar but I can't quite put my finger on it. Thanks.

  • Damn. That's got a really nice sound to it. Sounds great with the stereo camcorder. ;D

  • Kinda sounds like strange brew! Awsome.

  • Great amp....I think that I will buy in future xD

    Great Gibson! It's a Standard? I've a LP Custom.

    Gibson for ever! \m/

  • hi

i noticed your guitar is it a goya?

  • Its a G I B S ON !!

  • Nice work, man. Sounds deadly. I love the tone you got playing those higher licks at the end of the vid. Nice and grainy.

  • yeah,i have the same amp

  • awesome video here man. Im going to college next year and need a small little kick around amp, are you playing at a practice volume here? and if not does it sound good at lower volumes? and how's your 18 watt clone treating you? I've always wanted to make one! sorry if I overloaded you on questions haha take care

  • hes playing at a practice volume here. He says that hes using the post volume which is the master volume only at 2 and it sounds great!

  • post gain, not volume

  • Switch to the dirty channel and crank the Pre. Post is like a master volume so set that up as loud as you want it.

Pre means preamp gain. Basically it sets how hard the preamp tubes are pushed (which equals distortion). Post sets the level of output at the power tubes etc.

  • I got it, thanks.

  • @METROIDKILLERX man cant you read the manual?

  • @Acronso

No. My fri4end gave this amp to me. No manual or box.

  • @METROIDKILLERX ohh sorry then

  • you rock i need a geetar like that and a amp too

i have a epiphone les paul studio and a line six spider speaker so the best i can sound exactly like is the stairway to heaven solo

  • my amp is the same as yours and my distortion is being dumb and wont come up. and i've tried EVERYTHING! anyone please help!

  • I used to hate my amp overdrive, until I changed out the crappy stock tubes. Get a tube set from Bob at eurotubes. Awesome people over there! Made a world of difference with my amp. Check em out.

  • I also own the Classic 30 and I'm not to crazy about the gain channel. What tubes did you put in?

  • Just google eurotubes, and Bob will hook you up. They have several sets depending on what tones you are going for. I just got the normal retube kit and my cleans just sound warmer and there's more oomph to my drive channel. The tubes they use are JJ's ... some people don't like them but I do. Certainly an upgrade from the stock tubes.

  • I use my peavey to play METAL !! AND it's 30 classic too..

  • you should make a heavy rock video of the c30 with the pre cranked but also with the tube screamer on

  • do you have to crank this amp to make it sound good? will i need an attenuator if i buy it? thanks

  • i never knew a peavey could pull off such a crunchy tone

  • yes they can ... too name a few, 6505/5150, JSX, XXX, Valveking...

  • Very cool. You have a great sound. What's under the hood as far as pre and power amp tubes?

  • Are you using the stock Blue Marvel speaker?

  • yes stock blue marvel speaker.

  • hey fella nice playin! i have the same setup but i use a fulltone fulldrive pedal while in the classic 30 dirty channel you should try it!!

  • Oh gee. I have had this amp for over 10 years but you are right, its been a fender hot rod all this time....

...You sir, are the idiot. Its a tweed covered peavey classic 30.

  • @martys13 hey maybe it's got higher resale value as a fender xD

but that's some sweet tone man. definitely not the choice for metal territory but I loved that rock tone.

  • ha ha ha

  • fooooooooooool

  • @JeanEstienne You dumb fuck.

  • @JeanEstienne u r a true dumbass.

  • @JeanEstienne what a jerk you truly are !!

  • @JeanEstienne You're the idiot. The amp on the video is a Classic 30.

  • you got a killer tone and some good skills there!

  • hey man, congrats you are really good!! I just got a Classic 30 with Groove Tubes and JJs, and I'm using an SRV Strat. I really like your heavy rock tone and also your blues tone, it soudns phenomenal. A lot of it is due to the LP of course, and since I have a Strat, what pedals would you recommend for blues and heavy rock??

  • I got one of these babies on hold :) on sale for $399 MWUAHAHA

  • great amp got one :P

  • the hot rod has good cleans but horrible distortion (at least that's what i heard)

id go for the Classic 30

  • Hey. i was wondering if you could help me with a decision. i've been playing on my shitty little practice amp for some time now and i think it's time for an upgrade. Should i get a Peavey classic 30 or a Fender hotrod deluxe? both are tube which is what i'm looking for, but the fender is a hundred dollars more than the peavey. and maybe you might recomend anything else in that price range that i might like? thanks

  • theres a fender hotrod at church and i own a classic, i prefer the classic it has more variety than the hotrod. Plus its lighter. WAY better distortion the hotrod one sounds like crap.

  • i am also having to make the same decision currently. so far from what i have gathered over the internet im gona go for the classic 30 but im gona go to ashop and try it out, maybe try out some others. you should porbably do the same or if you have already bought one could you advise me please. thanks

  • thx man

ill classic and just buy pedals for a metal tone

  • This or the Peavey Valveking 212

  • valveking more marshally and more versitile. classic 30 more classic rock. depends what your looking for, valveking better metal tones.

  • I decided for a Valveking cause I got an Ibanez. Great distortion for less money. But if you prefer cleans and crunch with a Fender the classic 30 would be a better choice. It's warmer and more versatile in cleans.

  • Wow, I wondered if it was just me that thinks those Marshall MG's sound like shit! What overpriced POS solid state crap. They all sound like my dentist drilling into teeth! Tube amp = real sound!

  • hahaha i love it when people like this start talking. When the guy said a marshall stack,he meant a REAL one,not a kids toy like the MG100 (tho i think it truly undermimes ur whole premise when someone says marshall stack and u instantly think...mg100)maybe were all stupid, maybe all ur favourite artists are stupid, maybe every top engineer is stupid too...but u man, u obviously know it all, coz u did physics. Btw, i studied a combined masters in chemistry and physics...and i use a JCM900 SL-X ;)

  • what tipe of pick up do you use?

    sound good!

  • I love this AMP!!!!

    Best regards.

  • yeah it sounds pretty good

  • you choose a modelling amp over a tube amp? n00b this is eal tone not digital crap

  • it sounds like crap really tin and digital sound

  • and you've gotta learn what good tone is bitch spider III's suck go to a store and play trough a marshall stack or another nice tube amp now go play your hello kitty squier trough your spider again

  • Dumbass is spelt with a b.

And both the Spider series amps and the MG series amps sound shocking.

And digital amps can't sound exactly like a tube amp, they 'digitally' replicate what they can tone wise, and no matter what none of them can sound exactly like a tube amp compared to a true tube amp, and if you don't understand that you need to stop being so tone deaf.

  • No I'm not stupid.

Even if a solid state amplifier, as yours, can 'mimic the exact path of a tube amp cone' it doesn't mean it will sound the same. The 'cone' of the speaker isn't the only think producing noise, and if you solid state amp tries to replicate the movements of that cone, it can usually be heard. Which is why Spider series amps sound digital, and crap..

It's obvious that you, DaTartanSpartan, are tone deaf, and haven't played through a tube amp.

  • dude tube amps are t3h sh1t...

  • Marshall MGs are junk too lol, they sound the same because they are both crappy solidstates. And no, a solid state amp cannot replicate the sound of a GOOD tube amp. Also you saying the electromagnet has complete control makes no sense. You obviously are talking about the speaker magnet but that has nothing to do with the tubes in a tube amp. Solid State amps will never recreate the warmth, sag, punch, etc that a good all tube has. You need to not cuss people out that are giving you correct info

  • Oh sorry I didn't know that your spider could replicate a marshall. That's shocking. Especially since its a 15watt solid state marshall that sounds like a piece of junk. Try replicating a real marshall, maybe a Jcm 800, not there crappy practice amp.

  • Wow, you are an asshole. If the digital amps can sound EXACTLY like tube amps like you said, then why the fuck are tube amps still being made? A digital amp can never fully replicate a tube amp. And just because the electromagnets can control the the path of a tube amp cone (not that there's such a thing as a tube amp cone), it still can't produce the right tone. Asshole.

  • digital does not have awesome tone and 9 times out of 10 those built in effects are absolute crap. Play some good analog effects and you'll see what I mean.

  • I've owned a ton of tube amps, then went digital. Started with the Yamaha DG100, went to the CyberTwin, Roland VG, lastly the Line6 Vetta II. Back to a tube amp now. Digital is great for recording, low level playing, and just fooling around, but they cannot emulate the sound of a cranked tube power section on the verge of clipping, that killer feedback when you find the sweet spot on stage. It all comes down to personal preference. No one is right or wrong, it's what you prefer.

  • if digital is so great, how come the guitar greats dont play them? name your favorites, they play tube.

  • ooh...thats how high the gain goes eh?

dang, it sounds beautiful, but I still cant decide whether to get a palomino v32 or the classic 30 :(

  • This is good, so it the Fender Hot ROd Deluxe. Both have crappy speakers though.

  • very cool

  • Man.you rock, i luv that amp

  • I think Your amp sound fantastic, its exactly the tone ive been trying to get from a tube amp. Are you playing straight in or through a pedal? thanks

  • what?

  • Im glad I didnt waste my money on a valve queen, cheap noisy kiddy stuff, thanks for the vid

  • nah not best in world :) still good, so is classic 30 and tiny terrrrrorrrrrrrrrrrr

  • If you like harsh, sterile tone.

  • What kind of tubes are you using for the classic?

  • Shoegazer! Lol

  • Noce sounding amp. Have you tried the 2x12 and 4x10 Classic 50 amps? If you did, I was just wondering what you thought about them?

  • Nice guitar!!!! Wonderful Amp!!!

  • WTF ? How can you possibly tell if it's a "bass cable" from this vid. Methinks you're blowing smoke out your ass.

  • Again, WTF ? Unfortunately you are retarded. Fabric has nothing whatever to do with whether it's a guitar or bass cable, fabric is just there to give it more protection from cuts and you're just as likely to see it on guitar cables as bass cables. In future please refrain from posting random bullshit that you totally pulled out of your ass on topics you know nothing about. Thank you for your co-operation.

  • lol xD

  • Thanks guys. Yes its not a cheap cable. I can't remember the brand but its serves me well for years.

  • Lol

Actually, pretty much all cables have tension relief of one sort or another. Fabric works just the same as anything else for wrapping a cable. Last I knew it didn't somehow resonate at a lower frequency than rubber. Before you go talking trash on youtube (or anywhere), take the couple minutes to actually look in to what you think you know about.

  • Nice playing and tone of course:)zeppelin song was great. I bought peavey classic 30 recently and like to ask for advice:) how can I boost the amp for more heavy tone?? I'm thinking about boss sd1 regards

  • What was that you where playing at the beggining?

Anyway, wicked sound! And nice guitar playing.

  • i want the same tone! beautiful

  • hows the Peavey Classic for a Randy Rhoads or Van Halen tone?? will it go to a Zakk Wylde type gain stage??

  • With a hot pedal, it would but I recommend a Valveking 112. A bit more expensive, similiar thing but more rock oriented.

  • ive decided to get a 6505 Combo now!

  • Actually, the 50 watt Valve King is quite a bit less expensive than the Classic 30. The Valve King may be a fine amp, but it's 2/3 the cost of the Classic 30 most places.

  • Just stick a pedal infront of it and it would.

  • try turning you mid down by about 2

  • You rock. That amp is good

  • i'd like to know how many classic 30s have been sold. I bet the number is 324234235243E234325345435

  • how much is that amp

  • me gonna get sum of this next month, too! yeeeeea :D

  • I've had it with Fender amps. My Classic 30 had too much country twang. How did i solve my problem? Mesa F50

  • I have classic 50 2x12 and it kicks ass!!Do does your peavey!!

  • nice tone... love that amp (i have one too)! its uber kickass.. and i have everything set totally different... except i have the pre up to 12 too lol. rock onnnnn your other videos are cool too.

  • Sounds great, man.

  • Cool amp ...I will buy one

  • I must say I really aprecciate your taste in both music but also in gear! Both Classic 50 and a JTM45 is incoming, also like your les paul. Even though I must say I'm more off a Tele/strat cind of guy. Well, I also really love 335's. Like LP's too, offcourse! ;)

  • cool song!cool guitar! you have talent!

  • Great tone!!! I wish more people would discover the Classic line of amps from Peavey instead of all Fender and Marshalls.

  • yeah, i like the dirty on this amp but i sorta dont like the clean, every1 buys the fenders because of their clean channel, but the distorton isnt that great, so you buy an amp for the clean tone, and if the distortion sucks u buy a boss OD pedal or some shit

  • boss overdrive pedals suck. but yeah, i never use amp distortion.
