@Ryth1900 Actually the Swedes did, they gave the Byzantines so much grief that they were eventually hired as the Varangian Guard! Around 864 AD in Kiev they were also known as the Rus which in the Finnish Language means Rautsi which translated into English means Swede. Of course they inter married with the East Slavic Tribes but still retained much of their fighting customs and battle tactics. Make no mistake though, I still give cudos to the Spartans! Thanks!
