  • That, too, brought a tear to my eye. I so love the render of the TARDIS v1 control room.

  • Nice, the original, set the stage for everything after. Nice work

  • Top notch! The old ship interior always made me wide-eyed in wonder when I were an ankle-biter, and that captured it perfectly, and the sight of the food machine made me feel like a bacon & egg choc-ice thingy. Yum.

(I always liked the way the original interior was completely at odds with the humble, mundane (then) Police Box 'shell', which I thought worked much better than the more recent 'odds & ends' versions.)

  • at 1:59 you can hear some1 sneezing O_o

  • This was an excellent rendering, and I would have to say something that would definitely could have happend after Tennant met Davidson. The range of emotions with his past rushing in, great job!

  • Absolutely Stunning, thanks for making it and sharing! I wonder if the boffins who make Dr Who today have seen this, give them some good ideas!

  • Ah, the orginal desktop theme... Great job! ;)

  • Fantastic! And I mean that! Thanks for blending the past with the present and the future past. Very few people get it!

  • This is absolutely beautiful. Really very well made. What a stroke of genious to mix DT with WH's words. The "One day I shall come back..." line is still one of my - heck - it IS my favourite line of all time. [See, all this glowing praise and no mention of Monty Python!]

  • so....will the Doctor ever go back to get Susan?

  • @TheAndyinSeattle I believe they did meet again in the Five doctors.

  • @TheAndyinSeattle

IDK, but Eight (McGann) has met with her again. You should check out the audio story "An Earthly Child" sometime.

  • Awesome!

  • Oh wow...

Poor Doctor, all that nostalgia must have brought back a lot of pain.

  • whos ur fav dr who? mines tom baker 4th doctor

    and k9

  • That was awesome to the nth degree.

  • That was wonderful, and so sad. Lovely work.

  • Bloody good.

  • BRILLIANT!! Great job!!

  • link to the model???

  • Wow. What a brilliant tribute to both William Hartnell and to the very first couple of episodes that really set the series up adn made it the brilliant programme it is today. Well done.

  • cool as heck

  • Looks beautiful, and feels beautiful too :)

  • touching and nostalgic... great video... looks like one dalek saw this.. cried "exterminateeee" and pressed dislike.

  • amzing!!!

    thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!

    10 walking round in 1's.

    remembering susan. d.

fun little extra dose of drama.

    excellent work!!!!

  • Breath taking!!!

    Well done sir.

All those hours that took to do that.. Worth every second.

Poignant. Moving. A real breath taking tribute to the Hartnell era.

    Thank you.

  • Wow! This is the most I've seen of Hartnell's TARDIS since I've been watching Dr Who!

  • very super good

  • Bloody brilliant mate!

  • for some reason this is really sad all of the flash backs

the 3d effect looks really nice

    really life like

  • Very nice modeling and a darn good story to boot. Well done. I like playing with Blender but your skill is way beyond mine. Maybe because I only PLAY with Blender... oh well. Keep up the good work.

  • whats the episode where we see what the doctor and susan eat whilst flying in the tardis

  • @ryananderson280195 Edge of Destruction, I think. 2 episode filler.

  • wow my that me tear up at the end there that was just fab

  • Absolutely Fabulous ; )

    wingsofgabriel . com

  • Fantastic

  • Great!

  • very nice, must have taken ages

  • Haunting... Brilliant...

  • I was very impressed with this. Good job.

  • god this is amazing..love this render. Keep up the good work.

  • Wow what a suberb and moving vid. Well done andrew

  • This is SUPERB! It just makes me hate the new series console room designs even more. High tech junk yards!

  • Love the editing here.

  • i could never make something like that but im gonna try the wikibook thing like you said and that is really good!

  • Brilliant

  • This is really good! I find the hardest thing with 3D is to actually start something because of the infinite possibilities.

  • Cool, you did justice.

  • For many years all I saw were photo stills.

I was shocked to find there was actually a lot more to the original layout- the additional areas and so on.

  • Hey, you must get bored of people asking you how to make these, so I won't. I'll just say, I've had Blender for a long time now, and can't even figure the basics out...Can you point me in the direction of a good tutorial?

Thanx :) Great work on all 3 consoles!

  • @SuperRichi1A I learnt by following the 'Blender Noob to Pro' wikibook from start to finish, and after a couple of days I was sorted. Google it and have a play about...

    Andrew

  • The beginning with Tennant and the sounds reminds me of the end of The Godfather II, with the flashback.

  • Would be interesting to see the Classic Tardis in COLOUR !!!! .

Would be awesome thou if some one could colourise the whole first Episode of Doctor Who [ An Unearthly Child ] , make the Story more real life , concidering the real World isint Black and White .

  • Brilliant, brilliant. Its not just the Doctor remembering..perhaps the Tardis herself does, too. And perhaps they miss Gallifrey and simpler times?

  • Good to see the old girl again. And in Blender, too!

My only real criticism is that, because of how well you've matched the console edge heights, poor David Tennant appears to be standing on thin air at one point...

Marvellous work, cleverly done - and a wonderful retrospective of a set that was downsized far, far too quickly.

  • That was all sorts of genius. Nice work!

  • very good> I would like t see some reference to the first Dr at some point in the new series

  • see "Time Crash" theires one in there.

  • Gave me goosebumps. Beautifully done!

  • Great Stuff!!!!!!!!!

  • That was absolutely amazing! I also wish I had those skills as a hardcore DW fan. Beautifully done!

  • Simply brilliant!

  • Beautifully done. I love that you made a video that blends existing footage with yours that actually has a point! I'm overwhelmed.

  • Very brilliant and a bit of a tear jerker. You have captured the memories what the Doctor remembers!!!

  • Nice one!!! We never did see the control room for a decent amount of time in the B+W eps

  • Wow. Not only did you take the time and effort to create an accurate model of the TARDIS, you through in a truck load of emotion just for fun.......awesome. :P

  • Brilliant, I loved it!

  • Cheers - these comments mean tons when they come from legends like you :)

  • You truly are a genius mate. I wish I had your talents and then I would try and reconstruct all these missing stories.

  • It would be perfect if the ceiling was extrapolated from the original designs so the footage matched perfectly.

It pulled more emotion out of that footage than the original scene actually did.

Even the Time Lord can not step in the same river twice.

  • fantastic!

  • was the console room the same for troughtons era?

  • The original console remained until "Inferno" but the set was reduced in size and grandeur during Troughton's tenure.

It was completely redone by the time Pertwee started to re-use the old girl.

  • terrific! they should have shown something like this on Children In Need last night. this is what Who is all about!

  • God, that was haunting. But brilliant!

  • Gosh. What can one say? To know that such an era is so far away in Time, & yet it still feels so close is Heart Breaking.

Remember William made this Series work because he believed in it right from the very start.

Makes me sad. RIP Doctor WHO.

  • I never quite realised how alike 10 and 1 are both so young and yet so old, both knowing that they can probably never go home but yet still hoping it might happen. Andy, I am now making my own dimelord tardis in blender and would appreciate help

  • Simply spectacular.

  • What a brilliant rendering, I recognize that crazy bed from the second episode of Who, the food replicator, it's all there. Very thurough and well thought out in the context of the 10th Doctor remembering Susan and the "First" era. I'm going to use this to introduce people to the 1st Doctor :)

  • Splendid!

  • I wonder....is Susan or even Romana still out there somewhere...?

Last of the Time Lords? We've already seen that proven false.

  • lovelly :)

  • Wow! This is excellent...and really quite moving. Well done.

  • Very well done. A+

  • That was..eerie..but excellent..

  • Seeing this I think that 1. you should be working for the bbc or failing that, trinity productions 2. it's simply fantastic and 3. I really want you to make me a Dime-lord tardis and no that's not a spelling mistake. I am a writer and have been working on the idea of a race replacing the time lords. These Dime-lords have strange tardis like ships which I have tried to describe in words but I'd love to see one pictured. I have made a basic console in anim8or, any chance you could finish the job?

  • Absolutely superb. Excellent model, nicely rendered and the integration into its own 'short story' with David Tennant is a work of absolute genius. I love it.

  • awesome

  • This is truly exceptional stuff. Must learn to use Blender!

  • Beautiful work sir, you really have a keen eye for all the little details.

  • That was excellent work...very well done!

  • spooky and beautiful - that was worth watching - i have put it under my favourites - well done mate.

  • One of the best video's i've seen on youtube - superb!!!

  • That was subtly beautiful. Very well done. And God, what a difference it makes to leave out the music!

  • That was amazingly haunting and very well conceived as well as executed.

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  • Mate That is Lovley :D 5 stars

  • Cheers Rob :)

  • left me speechless.....kinda makes me want to go and chuck a Hartnell 'Who' DVD on now

  • Bloody brilliant!

  • nice one

  • That's soooo good, you talented person. You've done a brilliant job of my favourite TARDIS set.

  • Really, really enjoyed that. The CGI was great but what i loved the most is what you did with the sound. Favorited and five star rated.

  • That was rather good Andrew, I enjoyed that :o)

  • That was really cool. Very well done, especially the tie in to the current Dr.

    Thank you very much!

  • Amazing work.

    Brilliant.

  • Fantastic, absolutely superb

  • Brilliant

  • Beautiful

  • Awesome, and a great idea of Ten revisiting his past. Now... I dare you to try the Leopard Skin TARDIS! ;)

  • To quote my lookalikey - FANTASTIC!

  • Superb!

  • Very well done, must have taken ages... nice job my friend.
