My guess about the bad picture quality is that when there are a lot of fast movements in the picture the quality sucks. I have the same problem too in some of my videos where I have sped it up.
Nice one. As you can see in my version I did last year the quality is not great, its because the changes between adjacent frames are severe which is not good for compression codecs thats why it suffers.
I've always wanted to do this, there's a journey I do quite often from glossop down to derby, it looks great, especially at night. Lots of trees that hang over and make the roads look like tunnels.
Hopefully I'll have a camera before the next time so I'll be able to do it.
YouTube has been fucking up the quality of my videos lately, also. I just bought a new camcorder to make better videos, and now YouTube starts messing up the quality. For the past couple days, I have been experimenting with encoding my videos differently, but no luck so far. Damn them!
