An absolute stunning car I couldn't wait for the type R so I got the Type S GT just last week in vivid pearl blue a real head turner and a total dream to drive.
Theyre more solid than Hondas and they got a totally different reputation. Good engines, they last long and theyre easy to mod. Honda is what a 17 year old punk would get to race around public streets. Hondas are easy to mod too, but fuck, theyre rice. But it all comes down to opinion and personal preference i guess.
The new type-r has looks for a young gun, but im sure a lot more older people will buy it. The base model of the new civic is aimed for the much older consumer. The car is actually made in England. Anyway the Golf (GTi or R32)has always been known for a great sporty hatch. There are new rivals to the sporty hatches like the Mazda 3 MPS, BMW 1 series, Vauxhaul Astra VXR and so on...Im not interested in which is the best car for upgrades, what is the better car overall when its stock.
civic's have always been sporty but were always overlooked. back in 89 was when the civic si-r model was released and it was a beast! had a 1.6L (B16A) naturally aspirated dohc vtec engine producing 160hp, with double wishbone suspension front and rear, disc brakes front/rear, and only weighed 990kg. now what hatch did vw have back then? as for the current gti being easy to mod, well ofcourse it would be, its got 2 more cylinders and a turbo! now thats what i call lazy engineering.
