hey hey! Have you ever tried - fast abs magic (do a google search)? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my cooworker got beautiful Six pack abs and lost tons of weight with it.
Hey go with Weight watchers it is great well it worked well for my wife and i. I lost 75 pounds my wife lost 64 pounds in just under a year. Try it very easy diet you get to eat what you want just in moderation. keep it up wha ever you try.
Thank you. I really enjoyed this video. YOu convined me to to do the atkins (which I lost 50 pounds on, kept of for two years, and then broke up with my girlfriend and was like fuck it give me a hamburger!) .. I'm going to try weight watchers
Do what you choose but in my experience what you have choosen is just going to make you fatter....if it does, you know where to reach me to find something that just may work for you like it is doing for me...
LOL....honey if you are going to speak about a particular diet you need to read up on what they actually do FIRST.....Atkins is NOT high protein, it is high fat low carb. Personally I think it goes a bit overboard...
I tried EVERYTHING and just gained and gained and gained...never lost more than a few pounds.
Now I am no starch, low sugar and high fat, and you know what? It is working...I am losing weight and fat FOR THE FIRST TIME...I can see my ribs.
Been on a low carb diet for almost a year now, and my brain doesn't instinctually crave carbs. It's actually the exact opposite. I crave animal foods and vegetables. That's actually how it should be, since we are humans and our hunter-gatherer ancestors - that's all they ate. Also, read some books on cholesterol... People on Atkins actually have ridiculously low "bad" cholesterol (Triglycerides) compared to ppl on balanced diets, or even vegetarian diets. Anyways, hope all is well!
@CharlieShaughnessy eesh, Really bro? How's the meat quality these days? Do you think they're using steroids? Is there a correlation with the rise in cancers (ovarian, testicular)? There's a video by a doctor that Everyone should see called: FORKS OVER KNIVES. Peace!
@oilkills That's why you buy grass-fed, free-range meats - I do, at least. Forks over knives just promotes a vegan/vegetarian agenda by using some epidemiological studies that have been disproven over and over again. I was vegetarian for 10 years and I can post my cholesterol numbers then vs. now on my paleo diet if you want. Can you guess as to whether they were better or worse?
@oilkills You might want to read Denise Minger's post: "Forks Over Knives": Is the Science Legit? (A Review and Critique). It might give you some things to think about. BTW, I am not saying that CAFO meat is good, but there are very healthy alternatives in grass fed and pastured meats. I wish you well.
@oilkills Also, oilkills, I am not interested in the vegetarian/vegan vs non-vegetarian/non-vegan debate. The newest Atkins book has proof that anyone on a vegan or vegetarian diet can take full advantage of the lifestyle with a few minor tweaks to the percentage of calories coming from fat vs. protein vs. carbohydrate
the problem with that one pop tart or one soda is the same issue we have with one cig or just one injection of heroin..they THROW up you blood suger levels & then they go wayyy down & the you NEED to eat more sugar t take it back up...you have the food pyramid thing pretty right, no processed foods, u r pretty educated about it. The one thing i do recommend tho is to go cold turkey on thoz foods that you find the greatest craving for....
everyone's entitled to their opinion, but yours, pertaining to ketosis, is just uninformed. your basic description up to about 1:30 is medically WRONG. hit the books, friend.
Hello there! Have you tried cleverous 402 diet (do a search on google)? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cousin lost a lot of weight with it.
Boogie keep up the good work! I agree with you about your eating plan. Balanced is best and it's NOT a diet. Have to think about it as this is how I am going to choose to eat from now on. Just try to stay as organic as possible. That is what I am trying to do. Foods in there natural state good. Processed foods bad. Most processed foods are not even food at all. If you can't pronouce the ingredients then it is poison. Don't eat it. :-)
h hello have you been inspired by the Acuspeed 24 Diet (just google it)? I heard some awesome chatter about it and my buddy burned a ton of pounds using it.
ok??? well... has anyone tried the Acuspeed 24 Diet (do a google search)? I hear some awesome chatter about it and my sister shed crazy amounts of pounds with it.
I agree. I tried Atkins and all I could think about was carbs. Now my diet is much healthier & I focus on fruit & veg. Lean meats and lower but not eliminated carbs. It's a tried and true statement. Moderation is the key to a healthy diet.
Hi! Have you ever tried cleverous 402 diet (search on google)? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my father lost a ton of weight with it
I think it's great that you're trying to get healthier and I wish you luck and I'm sure you can do it, you seem very determined. I must say, though, that I found some of the things you said about ketosis to be inaccurate and it's unfortunate that you're spreading more falsehoods about Atkins because it's an awesome program that helps a lot of people. It's not a fad diet, it's a way of life, you have to go through the phases and change the way you eat for life or you will return to your old way
@kfarris23430 Exactly! Thank you for this comment! It irritates me that he is bashing a diet and discouraging people from eating low carb without even having the facts.
Im very thankful you're doing it this way. I honestly believe for your average person, the only good way to lose weight is via exercise and a balanced diet (and eating less ofc)
But erm, we can eat bacon wrapped eggs even if we're not on that diet thing right? ;D
Here is the biggest downfall of any fad diet, they may be effective for a while, untill you lose all the weight, but after you reach that goal, your going to end up eating just the way you did before, because you mind thinks that you wont gain wait again, so you can celebrate again. That's why fads are really bad and noneffective.
Atkins worked amazing for my mom as far as weight loss, she dropped 150 pounds in a year. But, as far as general health, she was just horribly bad off. Now she does Weight Watchers without the group therapy stuff and, although she hasn't lost an astonishing amount of weight, she's so much healthier.
Keep up the good work Boogie, you're doing great!
Hmm..good luck. I've done the balanced diet, exercise, calories in-calories out thing and it just didn't work for me. To effect a weight loss I had to cut my calories to less than 800/day. Talk about unsustainable. Atkins works for me but, as you know, dieting is not one size fits all so I wish you success on your journey.
I agree with some of the things you said but here is my personal experience: I was on an organic vegan diet for two years and lost a considerable amount of weight but now it has slowed down. So, I decided to start a low carb diet instead and it surprisingly accelerated my diet again. The way i see it is that some diets work well for some and not well for others, and sometimes you just have to change it up a bit after a while.
Good luck in your weight loss journey and take care!
I'm completely shocked at all the negative comments here. I guess that's just the Internet being the Internet. Anyway, pay no attention to the negative people.
I don't know all the facts about nutrition, but I think you're on the right track. A balanced diet is the right way to go. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and unprocessed lean meats. I've been trying to implement this way of eating for myself. I'm at around the 300lb mark, and that just scares the shit out of me.
you are absolutely misinformed about low carb dieting. You must have simply done some skimming and then made up some crap about what you thought it said. Not cool at all You should read "Why we get Fat and what to do about it" by Gary Taubes or start by watching one of his lectures on youtube ---use keyword Walnut Creek for a good one- It may just save your life!
everything you said about ketosis is incorrect. it is simply a state where your body switches from using glucose as fuel to using ketones. the body/brain actually prefers to run on ketones and will have more readily available energy. i've been in ketosis for 7.5 months and i have tons of energy and i have zero cravings for carbs. i haven't even touched soda in the past 7.5 months. my blood pressure is normal and i have no doubt my cholesterol levels are amazing.
I tried calorie counting and was starving all the time. I'm now doing low carb, it's been 5 months so far and I've lost 25 pounds. I'd like to lose another 25 to get to an all time low. After being on low carb so long I found that I didn't crave carbs at all. It just wasn't worth it, and I was still eatting good food and wasn't starving myself. Whatever works for you though, you'll never know if you don't try. Water is definately key regardless of what diet you are on though.
@sketchthediamond You basically would want to stay away from things with sugar in them including natural sugars because they will spike your blood pressure. So, no grains (bread/pasta/cookies). Most people try to keep under 20 carb a day, after a couple days of that you'll be in ketosis. Most of the time I only eat dinner all day, I'm just not as hungry anymore. Google lowcarbfriends for a good low carb forum and for recipes google linda sue low carb. hope that helps
Ok so rather than following any fad, or program heres what i did and Iv lost 30 pounds in 2 months:
*Cut processed sugars completely.
*Cooking for myself.
*Drinking tons of water.
*20 min or more of exercise a day
*no more alcohol
*And the biggest imo, WHEN you eat. Eating a decent sized breakfast then decent sized lunch, then munch till about 4-5 and then i go exercise. Dont eat for the rest of the night. Trust me this is huge night time munching is the biggest problem.
There was a comment further down recommending P90X. I partially agree with this, in that I suggest you take a look at the diet plan for P90X, but by no means suggest you try to do the exercises in the videos in your current condition. You might be surprised at how well balanced the diet plan is, and just how much food you're allowed to eat.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, i'm also an obese man who just happens to be low-carb dieting! 2 months now and i don't have the cravings you experienced. Of course, i've cheated but you are allowed mistakes to prosper! Don't be so hard on yourself! I''ve lost 40 pounds so far! EXERCISE should be the focal point of ANY diet! And if you're not exercising, you're doing your body a disservice! It helps you burn more fat, gain muscle, and get into tip-top shape!
I'm not trying to attack you, but i just want you to research before you go on tangents about low-carb dieting being bad for you! I'm sorry it didn't work for you, but it works for millions of other people, and they are a lot healthier too! If you wish to talk to me further, you or anybody else, feel free to send me a message! :)
fail to lose weight adequately on a high-carb/low fat diet. Dietary cholesterol does not effect blood cholesterol in a way we were taught to believe. Guess what effects blood cholesterol? Carbs, and processed oils. They both raise LDL(the small dense kind) which has been proven to cause oxidation that results in heart disease, and heart attacks! Now what kind of diet tells you that it's healthy but at the same time, it's known and proven to cause diabetes, and High Blood Pressure?
Eating Fat is NOT dangerous, it is needed by the body to sustain life. Fat is a natural source of energy, and no, your body DOES NOT struggle to use it! It readily uses it! The only reason why carbs are burned first is because the body has evolved to preserve fat cells in case of another famine! That's why it prefers to retain the fat! BUT releasing a lot of that fat is no more dangerous than drinking water. Carbs FORCES your body to keep your stored fat in it's cells, that's why a lot of people
to sustain the body and doesn't impact blood sugar like simple and complex carbs do, mainly because the carbs in vegetables are from the fiber, not the plant itself! We all can agree that elevated blood sugar is dangerous to the body and can cause disease, and that's what carbs do! Not only that, carbs has been proven to cause heart disease, certain forms of cancers, tooth decay, as well as other illnesses! Eating a low carb diet is NOT dangerous, and telling people that is purely opinionated!
You are misinforming these people about low-carb dieting! Dietary carbs are NOT required by the body if you're not an athlete or bodybuilder. The body is able to produce it's own glucose to feed the body mainly the brain! Simple carbs, and complex carbs all break down in your body the same way, as SUGAR! The body does not differentiate between the two! Ketosis is not a ''diseased'' state! Show me studies where being in ketosis is dangerous or life threatening! Carbs from vegetables are enough...
Watched the whole thing, I hope this diet works out for you Boogie! You seem really serious about losing weight and I think that attitude alone will help you a lot in your pursuit.
Boogie, watched the whole thing. Just curious, does your diet allow for a cheat day every week or a couple times a month? I watch what I eat and ride my bike 14 miles a few times a week and have a cheat day once a week, I don't go overboard but it's still nice to get in and have that icecream or candybar I crave. So happy for you, you can do it!!!
Hey Boogie, I Have this REALLY good exersize thing you should try, all it is, is about 3-4 mins a day and what you do is run as fast as you can for 30 secs then stop for 30 secs, run again for 30 secs and keeep doing this for 3-4 mins, it's been proven to be very good for weight loss and I did it and recently my friends have been telling me that I lost weight, Thumbs up so boogie can see this because it is an amazing exersize :)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
WHAT IS WRONG WITH ARKANSAS BITCHES THAT GO OUT WITH FAT FUCKS LIKE THIS FAT MAN.THERE IS NO SKINNY GUYS THERE OR THIS BITCH REALLY NEEDS DICK IN HER LIFE ALOT AND HE IS THE ONLY ONE SHE COULD GET. THUMBS UP IF U AGREE
@MrRiposamabinladen how can you even think of begging thumbs up after you have posted that kind of a comment? please go out and get a life. stupid troll...
I loved the Fat Sick and Nearly Dead movie. Im doing a variation of it. I have juice for breakfast and lunch and have a nice normal dinner before 7pm. I also am exercising using the program From couch to 5K. So far its been a week and Im down 10 lbs. I dont miss eating breakfast and lunch cause I love the juice and dinner is always a pleasure. I had steak the other night and it was great. I just watch my portions for dinner and make sure I get my exrcise in. Its great.
Boogie your on the right path, those diets will make people loose weight but what happens when they are done with the diet they eat food they been wanting for a long time or they change their life style. Which one sounds better? Any way you diet plan is great.
I saw the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and I would NOT go on a 60 day juice diet, but i did see the importance of what they were doing. So I bought a juicer and go to a local farmers market and buy fruits and veggies and make juice out of them. I use the site from the movie to get my recipes and it's working great so far. lost a happy amount of weight since I started and feel great.
After a couple days I started biking more and that helped too. We are doing this together, Boogie!!
Your acceptance that you will give in to will power now and again comes across a little unmotivational. Have your small treats on a cheat day, stick to a strict 6 day a week diet for 30 days and youre food cravings/addiction wont excist, your body will start to crave only the nutriants. Heres a tip, stick to the perimiter of the supermarket, thats were the good whole food lays.
Boogie2988, I've been following your videos for the past year now and I must say you are truly an inspiration. Y'know, despite all the bad things that have happened in your life you are still trying hard and sharing your hardships with the rest of us and thereby inspiring us all. You make me laugh and encourage me to strive for my own goals. You rock boogie.
why not just cut out all junk food and soda i bet just from that you would save hundreds a month. i just had bread for the first time in 12 days and to be honest it was ok but not as great as my urge for having bread has been. i agree with you on the large portion because most of my calories are from veggies but i do make sure to eat fish or chicken or meat for dinner with raw veggies. i have noticed my shits are smaller they no longer choke the toilet lol
Sounds like you have a good solid plan and have realistic expectations. Keep it up and don’t get discouraged. It will happen and you will succeed. Good luck, and we (your subscribers) will back you up though your ups and downs!
Keep going Boogie you got this in the bag! Also thanks for talking about your plan it sounds like a good one, even if I'm not really big i could slim down a few pounds, and eating better like your saying will just make you feel better over all :)
That sounds like a good plan, boogie. You're right, If you're going for the long run, it makes more sense to make things balanced and give yourself room for some pleasure.
Hell I remember when I did the weight watchers diet (my father actually went there, I just used the books), I'd spend the whole week saving points to eat a whole peperoni pizza at the end. And believe it or not, it was the most successful diet I've ever made.
as a person that eats all i want and is constantly snacking on something...i have never gained a a pound(6ft and 135pounds =/) but i am watching your vids to help my self understand how/why it is so hard to lose weight or how people get fat(of course i know the general idea but specific stories seem to help more)...because until i watched your vids i thought that all you needed to do was "work out" to lose weight. you have enlightened me, at least a little to how hard it is.
When you go out to buy your regular stuff, don't do it hungry! You will buy all this shit you want to eat.. better eat before and make a list of the things you need.
I noticed no keyword or phrase but thats ok I watch all your videos start to finish glad to hear you are doing well so far. Keep it up! When I can afford it and I wish I could now I am inspired by you and want to try and loose some pounds to. I am 5'10 1/2" tall and am at last Dr's visit 376lbs. Couple of years ago I was at 240 and had muscle I have since replaced the muscle sadly with fat. Love ya guy please keep it up you are inspiring! -Elz
ok im asian and have a message. you wanna lose lb's do what my people do eat twice a week drink water and exerice it works far better than any diet trust me
Good luck to you.. You're really going to inspire a lot of people..Your ability to talk about things that are so very personal to you will help people overcome their fear and get them headed in the right direction.
Can i just digress a little, over the last few vids you have not talked anything about exercise. Even a short journey walk everday would help you succeed dramatically.
@Th3MasTaaH Agree, I remember seeing something somewhere that for an obese human, a 20 minute walk is equivalent to an average weight man doing 2 hours of exercise in the gym just because of the weight all the fat holds. (Not sure what kind of exercise in the gym however).
@Th3MasTaaH When you're that fat exercise isn't really that important. Exercise is great for those last 30 lbs when your body hits that weight loss plateau. 60% of the calories you burn in a day are spent just keeping you alive. Walking around, typing on a keyboard, walking up stairs, brushing your teeth - That's only 40%.
hey man, i've been trying to lose weight for a while so that i can join the navy. i had to lose about 60 pounds and i now have somewhere around 25 to go. i tried the adkins diet for a while, but like you were talking about i got these insane cravings for sugar. i literally had sensual dreams about eating patzki! that's when i decided to quit the diet because i need my dreams to be about beautiful women not polish pastries
Boogie, be yourself. Eat what you like. Dont try to be another guy who dont need delicious stuff. Dont try to be a guy only eating healthy stuff. Eat what u like, but less. Sensibly Eat less and be proud of it. Small steps on long term, stay yourself will help you on long term!
another small portion should comme from ....grains whats the word for the grains dont know what that is ?(belgium) you will get there boogie and when you do it will be one of your best days of your life, your a amazing person good luck man:)
Weight Watchers is pretty holistic and maintainable. Basically "counting calories for dummies," but it promotes healthy exercise & eating habits while giving you free reign to eat whatever. So Big Mac? Sure, you'll prob be making do with fruit & veg for the rest of the day, but you have that freedom. Obvs it's not for everyone, but (like anything worth 2 cents) it works when you work it.
I am a serious food addict so I can relate to you in that respect. I just got done eating like a 1000 calorie meal and I don't even feel full. I eat all day long and don't even know how many calories I consume a day. I hope to change my ways before my age catches up to me and my metabolism slows to a point that I can no longer eat the way I do and not weigh an extreme amount. I am pretty heavy at 275 lbs. I also think that the amount of exercise I get also plays a role in me not being bigr
A big thing you should try and do is drink a lot of water. The average person should drink 8 8oz glasses of water or other fluid a day. Obviously if you weigh more you should drink a little bit more than that.
great vid! you have my support. although i didnt hear the word exercise come up. is it safe to say thats another vid. drink tons of water. it cleans and maintains your body and it can for to be a habit.
Good job boogie I dont need to lose weight Im just here to help you out with your diet. not tryin to troll u. Cause I have the up most respec for you. Are u goin to walk or do more excerises? With any weight lose you need to have a good diet plus work out. To lose a weight a lot of the times.
Bro sit on the juice diet loose large amount of weight and then live on UR diet otherwise it's gonna take forever come on it's just food UR tougher than food addiction
I am on weight watchers and it is working for me. But to each his own. I think everyone needs to find what works for them. No one eats the same to get fat so no one is going to be able to eat the same to get thin.
Boogster, went out and grocery shopped, wife got me a spidey lunch box as well. Can totally be Spidey buddies...go web go!!! Going with the same method you are, going with a 2300 calorie intake, trying to stay away from big meals. Also agreed to only have one cheating day per week, I can have a regular soda (usually going to the movies w/ wife) and one of my favs (pizza, Chinese, or etc.) We are on the same page, this is a lifestyle change not a fad diet. Will keep in touch!
@pwnuge low protein? lol protein is what burns fat. do you mean low carb diet? and i suggest listening to this guy because even tho he is fat, he knows what he is talking about..
Woot! I here with you! Cheering you on and trying to lose myself. Starting getting a lil more active..NOT EASY. And getting this food addiction under control. Thanks for making the videos.
I wish you the best. . . what I do is usually eat a meal in the order of most healthy to least healthy and most raw/organic to most processed. I also drink a glass of water before and after.
You should have a healthy lifestyle and not worry about dieting just cut back your caloric intake and eat whole foods and lean meats as well as your veggies and fruits.
In the end, the plan you have chosen should work fine. Its pretty close to what I am doing and I am averaging about a 2# per week loss. #24 so far. You got this brother!!! I freaking believe in you!
=) boogie! you may wana watch theliferegenerator on youtube. You may find his energy and enthusiasm for raw natural foods may really inspire, influence and educate you on why to choose a more raw food - fruit and veg lifestyle. Try some of his food preperation vids to see what im talking about. if fruit/veg sounds dull, im not just talking about apples etc. you just gotta explore and find something that works for you. some fruits may surprise you, and become part of your life.&it goes from there
seems like you have the right idea, natural foods not only help you loose weight but they make you feel better, also learn to love water, soda is really bad for you, much love
If you want to watch another interesting video about diets and nutrition you should check out the movie Fat Head. It is also on Netflix. It's kind of low budget and very cheesy at points but has some interesting information in it, and I actually really enjoyed it.
I would so like to be able to donate towards a treadmill or something for Boogie to help him even further on his epic quest of weightloss. Who's with me?
Nice one boogie, I recently lost 60lbs simply by eating smaller portions and eating less processed foods and doing a lot of exercise (running). Although you might not be able to do more intensive exercises yet, I think it is one of the most important things. (Exercise-Nutrition-Sleep, the 3 most important things) Please talk about the kind of exercise you will be doing.
Boogie, congrats on your decision to save your life! I couldnt agree more with your choice of doing a balanced diet. I recently lost about 50 lbs and did it the same way, with small meals 5-6 times per day. Key for me was getting rid of the "screw it, I am already over my calorie alotment for the day, I might as well just eat the rest of these chips or pizza, etc." Instead replace that mentality with "wow, I really did over-do it today but I am going to start tomorrow right now w/o eating!
I completely agree with your choice here boogie, diets are really worthless in the end if you want to loose weight, "If you want something you have never had, you have to do something you have never done." You need to change your life, not go on a diet for a while, otherwise the weight will come back, it will be pissed, and it will bring it's cousins. ;) I'd like to see you start getting more exercise, or talking more about it, right now it's not coming across, if you are. Keep strong boogie!
In my Opinion this is the best way of "dieting" cos its no real diet, its just healthy and normal eating. Yet it's hard to get used to it and learning to really live it. Ultra-Low carb diets are not for overweight people, I think it's for guys with already less than 15% body fat, that want to get rly ripped.
Even though im not as big as u (around 240lbs) I have to lose weight, and im trying to go the same way as u. What I think helps a lot is setting up Deadlines/milestones.
Although I agree with your approach. I don't think Atkins is suited to people who have a substantial amount of weight to lose, and pre-existing health conditions. Different things work for different people. Calorie counting and eating raw fruit/veg is an age old method that works beautifully.
I've got to disagree completely with you. You haven't done low carb properly. The low carb diet is designed to slow re-introduce you to carbs in a safe and gentle way. The only part of the diet that involves "burgers and bacon and hot dogs" is induction. Induction isn't the diet. It's a phase. I'm living nicely on 60 grams of carbs per day now, over 70lbs lighter, and with a lower cholesterol and blood pressure than I've had in years. I'm living proof that the PROPER Atkins diet works long term.
And I don't crave carbs whatsoever. My diet is balanced and I have more energy than ever before. My only vice is Coffee. It's something that I treat myself to, instead of chocolate or pizza.
Low carb works. It's not a "starvation" diet. It's not burgers, hot dogs, bacon and cheese for the rest of your life. It's a way for you to adapt to eating a balanced and healthy diet. My health has improved greatly and I can't speak highly enough about Atkins.
oatmeal and fat free yogort for breakfest and lunch the same thing and for dinner a salad i did it for a year and a half and i lost 141 pounds it works good!!!
Yup, the calorie diet is the easiest to adapt your life around. are you writing it all down? WRITE IT DOWN! Currently i'm drinking a vodka/red bull, that's 300 calories...
I have the complete opposite problem to you, I weigh around 100 pounds, and never get hungry. I'd be surprised if I eat over 1000 calories a day, I could live on one meal a day and not get uncomfortably hungry.
hey hey! Have you ever tried - fast abs magic (do a google search)? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my cooworker got beautiful Six pack abs and lost tons of weight with it.

I agree. I tried Atkins and all I could think about was carbs. Now my diet is much healthier & I focus on fruit & veg. Lean meats and lower but not eliminated carbs. It's a tried and true statement. Moderation is the key to a healthy diet.

It's not a fad diet, it's a way of life, you have to go through the phases and change the way you eat for life or you will return to your old way
kfarris23430 6 months ago
@kfarris23430 Exactly! Thank you for this comment! It irritates me that he is bashing a diet and discouraging people from eating low carb without even having the facts.
glindafied87 5 months ago
Im very thankful you're doing it this way. I honestly believe for your average person, the only good way to lose weight is via exercise and a balanced diet (and eating less ofc)
But erm, we can eat bacon wrapped eggs even if we're not on that diet thing right? ;D
simonedday 6 months ago

LuminescenceAR 6 months ago
Hmm..good luck. I've done the balanced diet, exercise, calories in-calories out thing and it just didn't work for me. To effect a weight loss I had to cut my calories to less than 800/day. Talk about unsustainable. Atkins works for me but, as you know, dieting is not one size fits all so I wish you success on your journey.
rscjsc02 6 months ago
I agree with some of the things you said but here is my personal experience: I was on an organic vegan diet for two years and lost a considerable amount of weight but now it has slowed down. So, I decided to start a low carb diet instead and it surprisingly accelerated my diet again. The way i see it is that some diets work well for some and not well for others, and sometimes you just have to change it up a bit after a while.
Good luck in your weight loss journey and take care!
iboredjed 6 months ago
I'm completely shocked at all the negative comments here. I guess that's just the Internet being the Internet. Anyway, pay no attention to the negative people.
I don't know all the facts about nutrition, but I think you're on the right track. A balanced diet is the right way to go. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and unprocessed lean meats. I've been trying to implement this way of eating for myself. I'm at around the 300lb mark, and that just scares the shit out of me.
Keep at it brother.

you are absolutely misinformed about low carb dieting. You must have simply done some skimming and then made up some crap about what you thought it said. Not cool at all You should read "Why we get Fat and what to do about it" by Gary Taubes or start by watching one of his lectures on youtube ---use keyword Walnut Creek for a good one- It may just save your life!

Ketosis is not a diseased state, your knowledge on dietary health is completely wrong.
However, good luck. Do research before stating false claims.
usacfan 6 months ago 3
everything you said about ketosis is incorrect. it is simply a state where your body switches from using glucose as fuel to using ketones. the body/brain actually prefers to run on ketones and will have more readily available energy. i've been in ketosis for 7.5 months and i have tons of energy and i have zero cravings for carbs. i haven't even touched soda in the past 7.5 months. my blood pressure is normal and i have no doubt my cholesterol levels are amazing.

Ahbeeb 6 months ago 6
@Ahbeeb What can you eat on a low carb diet? Ive been calorie counting and pretty much hungry all the time.
sketchthediamond 1 week ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@sketchthediamond You basically would want to stay away from things with sugar in them including natural sugars because they will spike your blood pressure. So, no grains (bread/pasta/cookies). Most people try to keep under 20 carb a day, after a couple days of that you'll be in ketosis. Most of the time I only eat dinner all day, I'm just not as hungry anymore. Google lowcarbfriends for a good low carb forum and for recipes google linda sue low carb. hope that helps
Ahbeeb 1 week ago

It helps you burn more fat, gain muscle, and get into tip-top shape!
thamagickjumpoff 7 months ago 3
I'm not trying to attack you, but i just want you to research before you go on tangents about low-carb dieting being bad for you! I'm sorry it didn't work for you, but it works for millions of other people, and they are a lot healthier too! If you wish to talk to me further, you or anybody else, feel free to send me a message! :)
thamagickjumpoff 7 months ago 4
fail to lose weight adequately on a high-carb/low fat diet. Dietary cholesterol does not effect blood cholesterol in a way we were taught to believe. Guess what effects blood cholesterol? Carbs, and processed oils. They both raise LDL(the small dense kind) which has been proven to cause oxidation that results in heart disease, and heart attacks! Now what kind of diet tells you that it's healthy but at the same time, it's known and proven to cause diabetes, and High Blood Pressure?
thamagickjumpoff 7 months ago
Eating Fat is NOT dangerous, it is needed by the body to sustain life. Fat is a natural source of energy, and no, your body DOES NOT struggle to use it! It readily uses it! The only reason why carbs are burned first is because the body has evolved to preserve fat cells in case of another famine! That's why it prefers to retain the fat! BUT releasing a lot of that fat is no more dangerous than drinking water. Carbs FORCES your body to keep your stored fat in it's cells, that's why a lot of people
thamagickjumpoff 7 months ago
to sustain the body and doesn't impact blood sugar like simple and complex carbs do, mainly because the carbs in vegetables are from the fiber, not the plant itself! We all can agree that elevated blood sugar is dangerous to the body and can cause disease, and that's what carbs do! Not only that, carbs has been proven to cause heart disease, certain forms of cancers, tooth decay, as well as other illnesses! Eating a low carb diet is NOT dangerous, and telling people that is purely opinionated!
thamagickjumpoff 7 months ago
You are misinforming these people about low-carb dieting! Dietary carbs are NOT required by the body if you're not an athlete or bodybuilder. The body is able to produce it's own glucose to feed the body mainly the brain! Simple carbs, and complex carbs all break down in your body the same way, as SUGAR! The body does not differentiate between the two! Ketosis is not a ''diseased'' state! Show me studies where being in ketosis is dangerous or life threatening! Carbs from vegetables are enough...

Can i just digress a little, over the last few vids you have not talked anything about exercise. Even a short journey walk everday would help you succeed dramatically.
Th3MasTaaH 7 months ago 31
@Th3MasTaaH Agree, I remember seeing something somewhere that for an obese human, a 20 minute walk is equivalent to an average weight man doing 2 hours of exercise in the gym just because of the weight all the fat holds. (Not sure what kind of exercise in the gym however).
Toedoog 7 months ago
@Th3MasTaaH When you're that fat exercise isn't really that important. Exercise is great for those last 30 lbs when your body hits that weight loss plateau. 60% of the calories you burn in a day are spent just keeping you alive. Walking around, typing on a keyboard, walking up stairs, brushing your teeth - That's only 40%.
CenkIsAdorable 7 months ago
@CenkIsAdorable Actually, It would help dramatically if he just took a walk across the park for 10 mins everyday.

It's kind of low budget and very cheesy at points but has some interesting information in it, and I actually really enjoyed it.

diet plans are a load of shit. if you want to get healthy or lose weight, eat healthy food at all times, and burn more calories.
the difficult part is motivation.

Good Luck! =)

Although I agree with your approach. I don't think Atkins is suited to people who have a substantial amount of weight to lose, and pre-existing health conditions. Different things work for different people. Calorie counting and eating raw fruit/veg is an age old method that works beautifully.
Good luck.

Soup is good to eat because it keeps you fuller for longer.

@bassdemon16

Yup, the calorie diet is the easiest to adapt your life around. are you writing it all down? WRITE IT DOWN! Currently i'm drinking a vodka/red bull, that's 300 calories...

Six small meals a day, lots of water, exercise, was 240lbs 5'10 , now I'm 180lbs two years later! Good luck boogie!

I have the complete opposite problem to you, I weigh around 100 pounds, and never get hungry. I'd be surprised if I eat over 1000 calories a day, I could live on one meal a day and not get uncomfortably hungry.
