  • How the hell does your Champion sound so good? Mine buzzes and hums like mad!

  • @FelixBBaeton I don't know what to tell you..It's completely stock and the transformer does buzz (more than it seems to here) but I love the sound I get so I ignore it.I try not to be too close to it when I'm playing for pleasure.

  • @FavoriteHumbug ...Lol.I can't answer that one..You must decide

  • @FavoriteHumbug ..Basically whatever sounds best to you. There are interesting Bob Bradshaw vids on this very subject on the Dunloptv channel

  • Guilty of not watching the whole thing but I love the short burst of sonic mayhem you created.

  • @TheVerlaine ...Haha.It would've been heroic indeed to have watched the whole thing. Thanks for dropping by and for the kind words.

  • This is a fantastic amp. At first I used it with just a taste of overdrive but now I use it with a Dunlop DVP1 Volume Pedal, BOSS SD1, BOSS overdrive distortion OS2, a Electro Harmonix POLYChorus, a Delta Lab Delay, and I have even added a Seymour Duncan Pick up Booster when I use my telecaster. This amp is the nicest guitar product for the money. I have owned it now for nine months and I don't ever look at other amps

  • @paulgaudinjrBCN ..Yup! I still love mine.

  • Gr8 video. Tone is awesome with mxr distortion, the simplest one. :)

  • @3rmaN ...Thanks very much.I guess most people would class it in the 'tube screamer' type category...I really like it

  • I'm picking one of these bad boys up on Friday! Would you suggest maybe buying an eq pedal?

  • @GreeneMachine23 ...A Champion 600 d'you mean? I really like the sound of it and eq is pretty much the last thing I would add.If you're a fan of equaliser pedals then go for it.

  • Pretty much how I have my GT-OD set up. Nice OD pedal huh

  • @Lovetone1983 ...The more I use it the more I like it.

  • Great demo! You covered pretty much all the sounds someone could ask for from a tube amp! My only question is this: how does this small tube amp compare to other budget tube amps on the market? Is the Fender Champion your favorite in terms of dynamic response and clarity?

Okay that was more of a compound-question... >_>

  • @orangehasrhymes ...Thanks. To be honest the only other small amp I've played recently was on someone else's behalf and that was a Blackstar HT5.The HT5 has lots of features but I honestly think that the clean sound of the C600 is way better at half the price.Lots of people on yt seem to have done mods and so forth and all that is fair enough but I still love this little amp just as it comes. You should try one for sure...

  • @fendermac Thanks for the input! I've been on a quest to find a decent low-cost tube amp!! ^_^

  • Was that the kinks at 4:09!!!!!!!!!!!!! Something in my mind clicked and I got really excited for a split second

  • @TheSchoolsux345 ...I'm glad I can still excite.Lol....The thing up to 4.09 is Hocus Pocus by Focus. After 4.09 it's just general messing about with a return to Hocus Pocus later

  • Bang Baaang!!! Great!!!! i love my champ 600 but i do not use effects, just my mic's ( with my harmonicas) and it is greaat! Tks dude

  • @rodolfogrilu ....I love the sound best plugged straight in.It's a great little amp for sure.

  • Great demo! Was that 'Hocus Pocus' by Focus at one point? Amazing!

  • @AidyDamage ...Thanks! Yes, 'Hocus Pocus' pops up from time to time when I play.Lol

  • Another great review, THANK YOU !

I did the same thing last week. I pulled out some of my old pedals I used to run through my Mesa, and gave them a go. The Champion 600 is such an incredible amp, it sounded beautiful with them all !!! My favorite was running an older Boss SD-1, with the amp volume on 1. I got the richest low volume overdrive ever ! I enjoy your reviews, please keep them coming !

  • @live2rock4u ...I'm sorry I missed this comment at the time. Thanks for the kind words

  • Great video Paul!

You need to try it with the fulltone OCD too I´m sure you will like it..

  • I hear good things about Fulltone but if I have money again my shopping list would have a Furndark compressor at the top......thank you

  • The complexity of pedal setups have always baffled me. There are so many possibilities that I just cower into the reverb corner and that's it.

Just curious: I notice you favour attacky sounds. But with one of your pedals could you get a fade-in violin-like sound for every note, without recourse to the volume pedal?

  • A player as good as you doesn't need to hide behind effects...message coming separately

  • Wow! What a set up...Sweet! These little fender amps are really something else...

  • It's great...and I have to admit the boxes are prety good fun too

  • Fantastic.Thanks for the info.

P.S. The VG Strat is so amazing, it's unlike any other.

  • Thank you

  • Love your Retro Coil coily! Fun video! I've long given up on trying to run gain boxes thru my little amps. I just crank the amp and there you go! LOL Awesome pedalboard! Cheers, T

  • Couldn't agree more Trina-nothing better than a guitar plugged straight in....pedals are such good fun though.Lol

  • Oh I remember the tune is Bang Bang, had a record of Vanilla Fudge version . Well , a lot of possibilities are hidden under your sole.

  • Thank you....good to see you here

  • You crazy guy! lol

Is that a PedalTrain? I've got one of those...brilliant.

How come your pedalboard looks so lovely tidy and mine looks like a bloody rat's nest?!

  • It is indeed a PedalTrain...the Stagg box flexed every time I looked at it....and let's face it,I have nothing better to do than get anal with my wiring.Lol

  • Haha...yeah!

  • nice pedal setup paul.....i got just 2 pedals - i'm definetly no expert in the pedal department - this video was educational.....thanx for uploading :-)

  • I'm no expert either...it's all just fun for me.

  • Hi Paul, nice to hear some of your pedals. I only ever had one. A 'Cry Baby' wah. Think somebody nicked it many years ago cus' I can't find it anywhere. Anyway, good to see you having fun experimenting. james:)

  • Steer well clear...they'll drive you mad.Lol

  • Nice one Paul!

  • Cheers matey

  • Sounds great Paul. You've got some really good sounding effects there.

  • The looper was an excuse to get back into pedals and now I'm loving 'em...thanks Casey

  • Cool "Bang Bang" at the beginning;-)

Seem's that compression is almost necessary to get a real contain clean sound. But it does still sound great dirty;-)

Love the intro to "Hocus Pocus also" what a great musical piece!

    Cool tripping merci mon Ami!

  • Boxes come and boxes go but the compressor goes on forever.Lol.....merci mon ami

  • Sounds good man. What is song you play at about 4:03?

  • It's the intro to 'Hocus Pocus' by Focus...thanks

  • Sounds Good Paul I tried one out For the Price I thought The Hot Rod Jr or Deluxe was Worth Spending a Few More Bucks For..I use to have an Old Blackface Deluxe Years ago 1 12 about 22 watts That was Great Amp!!! I have a Hot rod Deluxe Now..

  • Thanks very much for doing this! I have been looking for a while for a demo like this.

  • Fun for me so no problem...I hope you found something useful here

  • I realy love MXR effects

  • Absolutely....great - and very tough - units

  • cool man ,sounds great paul
