If David Bidini were to take time from slumming at the National Post, if Martin Tielli were to loosen up, if Tim Veseley were to have the itch to rock the five-string again, and if the three were to finally stop hating on Dave Clark, then I'd be there for their reunion. RHEOS FTW!
@elanmak Well, Tielli forgot the words there for a bunch of measures. I think Time was just watching his bandmates, and they him, to see how they were all gonna keep things together.
great song, but all the best versions i've seen of this track are with martin on lead (no offense to dave). too bad he only picks up his guitar right at the end, just in time to do...nothing???
i'd also like to take this opportunity to give a big "fuck you" to the pathetic sham that muchmusic has turned into. nowadays, we'd be lucky if they allowed this type of performance on the sidewalk in front of the building.
I love the rheos, but, dave bidini is a showboating egotistical jackass. Martin on the other hand has been touched by god or something, an under-appreciated canadian treasure
also so strange seeing Dave Clark with no beard or glasses. the many times I've met him in the recent past he's had a full beard and Col. Sanders style half frames.
I remember seeing them perform this outdoors at night at the Guelph music festival in 1991. Tielli was positively scary during this song in that performance! Earlier that day he and Jane Sibbery did some fun stuff.
What a surreal thing to see the Rheostatics on Much Music. With that VJ jumping around like an idiot, clearly having no clue the glory they were about to lay out. And probably missing it while it happened.
I talked to Dave Clarke about this performance. He said that the Much Music people didn`t know what to make of them and kept looking at them like they were from outer space.
But my love for you is endless...
Perfect song or what?

Martin Tielli is a really wonderful and strange performer. His "dream" songs are so strong, and his voice is so beautiful! Love these guys.

pardon my ignorance but who's the cat on the Takamine acoustic?
jeffkahl 3 years ago
Lewis Melville a friend of the band who often used to join them live to help out (usually on pedal steel guitar).
