Are police dogs trained in Schutzhund? Every police dog I've ever watched anywhere has to be PRIED off of whoever they're latched onto, but Schutzhund trained dogs release as soon as their handler gives the command.
I noticed that too, I've also noticed my local police K-9 force getting lazy with training. They used to have well mannered dogs, the gus in the attack outfits could come up and pet the dog without it barking, growling, or lunging. Now they bark and whine, lunging at the end of the leash before given any commands. They used to let go and come back on command, now they have to be pried off.
