i've got to say, no matter how controversial bono can be.. but still i love him and u2, they're my favourite band and i get goosebumps every single time i hear his voice and their music.. can't wait to see them live eventually <3

I personally think this song is merely a reflection of the movie it was written for, i.e. Gangs of New York and talks about how the European immigrant's, and namely from Ireland, played a part in changing the face of America over the centuries, for better or worse depending on one's point of view.
