Yes, it did turn out a bit darker on some monitors then I originally intended. There also seems to be a large contrast difference between watching the trailer on a flatscreen and on a regular monitor. For the second trailer I boosted the contrast a bit so it is more on the safe side. Darkness can add a lot of mood, but things do have to remain some what visible.
@Imaculata its not just the monitor that determines brightness.. while settings do play a factor you also have to consider how old/burned out the monitor is. As well, not all video cards are equal. My monitor is considerably brighter by default before i install my video drivers (nvidia).. but after they are installed it goes a lot darker because nvidia changes the settings so colors are more "vibrant" - ie, your light colors lighter and your darker colors darker.

The Mad King, Bonedragon, Bonebridge and environment were made from scratch. Many of the textures had to be made by stitching together screenshots. Malafide and Daniel's model were ripped from memory, as well as some Guild Wars props, such as the Xunlai chests. Everything was rigged and animated in 3DSMax. I'm glad you liked it so much. With a bit of effort, I bet we can do even better than this.
Superb outstanding work, thank you for making this! I cant even begin to imagine how long it took you to make this, but I do know Ill be watching it again and again. Youre an inspiration! Please make more!
I'm back again to admire this beautiful animation :) I've tried 3ds max and such programs so I can see the amount of work that's gone into it. Brilliant stuff! Sub'd and fav'd :)
well I have to admit I am kind of disappointed it was not permitted. BUT, as I said in an earlier post, you can actually make this with 100% GW footage if you want to spend the time editing out items onto clear backgrounds and then animating it. The only things you would have trouble with is the Mad King and dragon which would require texmod. It would be really time consuming but if you started now you might just be able to get it done in time if you did not sleep.

It came across to me that you were being really cocky and boastful which I just thought was arrogant. Yes Wolfie, upon review of the rules set by the [Rain] Alliance this video does NOT infact meet the rules which were set into place at the beginning of the competition and 3rd post on guru and the GWVM threads.
While as amazing a video as the submission was, Rain stands firm that "you can submit your vid using some non GW material but keep in mind the judges will be considering if the video captures the spirit of Halloween IN Guild Wars; your video must be dominately and unquestionably Guild Wars and Halloween themed".
As wonderful as a video it is; and I am so impressed with your skills and would love to see you educate the GWVM community. I was sad to see that your amazing video didn't adhear to the rules and standards set for the comp. In order for a competition that is made to unite and benefit the community it is imperative the the integrity of the rules remain steadfast and intact; no matter if Mr. George Lucas submitted an amazing video...I may favorite it; but I cannot allow it to qualify. <3

I realize that there might be some concern about the entrants. The Competition is just that, While I think Queen Malafied's Entry is Quite brillant and absolutely done beautifully there are and have been some complaints.

Malafide is not Arena net staff. Malafide is not Blade Radio staff. Malafide does not have the ability to modify the game more then any other gw user. This video was done as a trailer to the up coming events. Daniel is in association with Blade Radio. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause anyone, but this video stands and is qualified for the contest.
As you can tell from my other youtube videos, it is a process that took some time to develop. It started with simple ingame machinimas, then slowly more video effects got added, and now I guess I have kind of reached a new high. Frankly it's a miracle I found the time to make this video on such short notice with such a busy job.
Additionally, since this not the first event where I am handing out tons of stuff from my own pocket, I think trying to win something for a change is the least I could do. In the end, the whole event and video are a gift from me to the community.
LMAO confident aren't we? I am happy for your video to stand in the competition, even if you modded the codes which I could not care less if you did or not I got no problem with it. It is very nicely done but gives me more a feel of christmas than Halloween. Good Luck though.

Scare me how? The scariest of the vids was Jakes first one and yours really gave me the willies. Competition..didnt plan on even entering, just did it for fun.
Well officially the Horrorween and Bladeradio are too events that work together to make one big party. Consider it healthy competition. I'm not a member of the Rain Alliance or Bladeradio, so it's all fair, I don't expect any bias.
This is not meant to sound offending in any way, but I think you spelled "machinima" wrong in your tags - I recommend to chance it, if you want to be found by that tag ;)
