as kick ass as the terran marines look (except for the orange color) this suit is competely impractical in my opinion. I would go with something like Master Chief's armor or at most the armor in the Starship Troopers novel (not either of the movies). This armor just looks to bulky and to much of a pain in the ass to put on. Whould every marine have to go through the process? Suiting up for combat would take forever. Imagine a regiment of marines going through that. That's almost 1000 marines.

The suits are kinda fused to them, by the looks of it. Suiting up isn't really necessary.

His armor is the bulkiest, this is a commander suiting up, the rest look not nearly as bulky or as thick as his. I cant remember his name but this guys a commander of sorts in the game so his armor is also specially made. I'm sure the rest of the marines go through a shorter less extensive and more limber armor setup.

Not sure what the basis of comparison is on the earlier posts but the Marine's Armor is more based off of the Starship Trooper's Marauder Armor for the M.I., minus the jump packs. Most games featuring "Power Suits" of the Terran Marine type were inspired by Heinlein's M.I troopers from his universe.

Not quite. Carapace is in most cases simply heavy and far more bodily encompassing ceramic body armour, kind of like standard issue IG flack armour on steroids. It can be given NBC/Vaccum capabilities, as well as servo assisted motor function and a limited electronics package, but it still strikes me as behind Terran marine armour in both protection and capability. Terran armour seems more of a mid way between carapace and full Astartes armour.

the most "standard" carapace I've seen is used by Kasrkin, and their training allows them to take on and beat Chaos Marines, unlike Guardsmen who rely on weight of numbers and an Officer with a power weapon, of course Plate mail(used by knights) can be considered Carapace armor as it was described in an older IG Codex.

even so, terrans were caught unprepared by the events u seen in Starcraft (but not helpless)

Heinlein, you'd find the Terran Marines most resemble the mobile infantry from Heinlein's novel, not the movie, mind you, but the original novel. The mobile infantry had bulky space suits and rifles. The troops from Heinlein's original novel also had stimpacks to spike their adrenaline, just like Terran Marines. Not to mention the alien race in the novel had a hive mind like the Zerg. Read the novel.

Terran Marine armor can be penetrated by Zerg claws, Imperial Space Marine power armor requires Diamond hard claws to penetrate it.

MkIV power armor(Space Marine) is invulnerable to small arms fire, though a lucky las shot can penetrate a joint.

Space Marines in general are 8ft genetically engineered killers(read on them you'll see)

Terran Marines are rednecks with paper armor,a litle rifle with a flashlight attached to it that will run at the first sigh of danger,not to mention when they run there is usualy no transport to pick them up cause the others managed to run faster.
