  • @MrKoipe yes u can

  • i think someone woke up this guy for the unboxing!! and was he snoring during the vdo???!!

  • i heard it was not the best in hardcore oc-ing. 4.6-4.8ghz max

  • what are u drinking man??:)

    8GB GSkill DDR3 1600

    Corsair 650watt

  • @solofalcon why not intel i5 2500k? not that expensive

  • Am i the only earing a strange and annoying "ring" sound on youtube?

  • Will it fit the Scythe Mugen 2 cooler?

  • can the 7 case fans that i will be putting in my case all fit on this board?

  • can i use this board and the i3 2120 with a 4 pin CPU power cable? i have an old cooler master 550 psu and i dont know if it is enough for this board. Sorry if my English is not the best.

  • @Kanaril Better than most typing english I've seen.

  • should i get this one or asus p8z68-v?please replay

  • Can it handle 2 7970 DirectCU ll from Asus ?

  • just ordered those parts this is the first rig i build completely by myself ASRock Z68 Extreme3 GEN 3 intel core i5 2500k cpu cooler corsair a70 ram kingston Genesis XMP X2 Grey 8GB (2 x 4) ssd corsair force Gt 90gb case corsair 600t white psu corsair 850w 80+ bronze (semi moddular) im going to run on integrated graphics for a month till i raise enough money for a decent gpu. what do you guys think of my build?
  • "Graphical BIOS"

So... is that actual UEFI? Or a UEFI-knock-off?

  • is pccasegear safe to buy online at? cus im thinking of buy my pcs parts from

  • @jedid123 yes it is, i built mine and my sisters computer off of parts from there :)

  • @daxster25 agreed :)

  • So, do you work at ITS? I noticed they've moved to Brissy. Always prefered Umart myself, cheaper and no added cost of freight.

  • This is the board I was looking at. I was going to purchase this with the i7 2700k and the new radeon 7970. I'm not going crossfire but I do want the option for the future. Would you recommend this board for a gaming PC with the other things I've chosen?

  • Would be a good review if you new what you was actually talking about buddy, not trolling just think you need to learn a bit more before trying to explain what things are in a review when its clear you have not clue.

"I beleive thats HDMI" No its cleary DVI & VGA.

Also staring at a bloody sli bridge for 10 minutes like, "what is this (see's capital letters SLI bridge) ohhh its an sli bridge"....

Facepalming + buttclenching, got a dislike and no sub bud, work on what you know before mate.

  • NO STICKERS?!?!?! :(

  • Hey I was thinking of buying this mobo but I was wondering if I would be able to fit 2 560ti phantoms in there? They are 2.5 slots wide. Anyone know the gap between the ex3 gen3's pci-e slots?

  • This will not support Ivy Bridge CPUs, the socket is 1155 whereas IB requires 2011.

  • @ColonelBinface As far as I have heard/read on websites and in HW magazines Ivy Bridge will be supported on 1155 motherboards and socket 2011 is only for Sandy Bridge-E.

Most new motherboards(pci 3.0) advertise Ivy Bridge Support where 2011 don't(as far as I have seen)

Fractal Design Define R3 USB 3.0,

what kind of power supply should I get, how many Ws?

I was thinking of getting the Silverstone Strider 500W Silent 80+ or should I get the 600W

  • @oIBBEo Always depends on what you're doing with it in the future (upgrade wise) so in the end it's always best to get a bit higher than what you require - the power supply will always use what it needs to run your setup and it's always helpful if there is more power on standby to use

  • @oIBBEo If I was you I would stick with 700/750w :P and you should buy 2600k, since it's only 10 dollars more expensive, and you can overclock

  • @DJVenuspect Yeah just did that, I bought the overclocked 2600 and got an 850W for a very good price becouse the carton was damage or something. anyway the power supply is as good as new. so this is what I end up with for the same price. under 1500

    Sapphire Radeon HD 6970 2GB GDDR5

Silverstone Air Penetrator 120mm Red UV

Corsair TX V2 850W PSU (demo)

  • @oIBBEo why would you get water cooling when your not planning to overclock your proccesorrr

  • @oIBBEo I have pretty much the same setup but I have a 750W. This lets me a) have room to upgrade to Xfire if I like to and b) at current, even at max load, my PSU doesn't have to run at 100%, so it stays quiet and theoretically last longer :)

  • @JacobsPCStuff partially support Ivy Bridge? So the Z68 chipset won't fully unlock the full potential of the upcoming ivy bridge cpu? There's also new chipsets coming, will this still be awesome? This mobo seems really affordable and since it supports pci-e 3.0. It seems worth it... :)

  • hyper 212+ has a great price to performance ratio.

    My big brother's i5 2500k with 4.4 ghz gets 70C using a 1100-1200 CM fan.

  • Comment removed

  • I use a 2500K + this board with a Hyper 212+ heatsink.

The combo of items does 4.5GHZ easily with a max load of 66C @1.325V

  • @Bladeworkssystems does the Hyper 212+ cover the ram slots?

  • @mrjonasnilsson Nope. it's all good. (but it's VERY close to the slot. maybe 1mm room left)

  • @Bladeworkssystems alright! thank you!

  • Make your unboxing videos better... Get to the main product FIRST. Don't dick around with the usermanual for 5 minutes..

  • My i5 2500 is having alot of pressure applied to it by the cpu plate and lever. Is this normal??? Heeellppppp..

  • will this work with i5 2500k and xfx radeon 6950 2 gb?

  • @alexdb95 yes it wil very wel

  • @alexdb95 yes

  • Damn if it had a front usb header i'd have got it :(

  • All it's missing is a usb 3 header....

  • is it compatible with an amd cpu?

  • @olliedakota No - Intel only

  • @JacobsPCStuff So it's only compatible with intel products, including graphics card, power source etc.?

  • @XxSuRrEaLiStSxX No--Only the processor needs to be Intel. Each motherboard has a "socket type" which is the type of socket for the processor. This motherboard's socket type is LGA 1155, therefore you need to have a processor with the socket type LGA 1155. Message me if you have any other questions~

  • @NinjahHuntar Aaahh, thank you! I'm new to this field (ex - console gamer) and am building my first rig, Inbox me so I can show you the specs without a character limit to see if everything's compatible (I would inbox you, but I can't seem to find your channel)

    And thank's again :)

  • @olliedakota That is what the PCIe comes into play... Most Graphics Cards are only 2.0 though (which there is a 2.0 slot), It is built with future 3.0 cards in mind.

  • does this mobo have wireless internet??

  • no usb3.0 headers?????? ...

  • Bought it today, looks great performs great, lots of features, compatible with Ivy Bridge and pice3,.It's not overpriced so it's an awesome mobo.

  • Damn. I really can't decide between this board and the MSI P67a-GD53.

Does anyone have some experiences with one of these two? What would be the best buy?

  • Darn, all it's missing is an internal USB 3.0 header.

  • Just bought this board about 2 seconds ago.

  • @ekimthegib mine came like 2 days ago :0

  • @Dp153 Nice

  • @ekimthegib its my first build and the mobo looks awesome! i was a little picky about the gold trimmings on it but now i love it

  • nice!

does this have internal USB header for front panel 3.0?

  • @Preetham42

no. just 2 on the back

  • Hey... should i get this or an asus z68-v

  • can anyone tell me why this board has 2 Power LED ports ???

Which one do I stick the case Power LED to ??

  • @Bryce5478 asrock is made by asus, but far not the same brands

  • I am a computer noob and I have this mother board. I installed 2 4 gig ram sticks on this MOBO and ended up realizing I only have 5.92 gigs of usable ram- I think i installed the ram incorrectly- How do i install the ram correctly on this mobo?

  • @ilee9624 I think this mobo doesn't support that ram. What ram are we talking about?

  • @northmahri I got it to work man, I went to in to msconfig and changed the max mem settings for the win. I got ripjaw ram and made sure the mobo supported it before I bought it. Thanks for the help!

  • @ilee9624 What Operating System are you running 32bit or 62bit?

  • Can I overclock an intel i7 2600k in an Asrock extreme4 Z68 gen3 mobo?

  • Thanks for the info and very happy this board is Overclockable!

  • should i get this for 150 or asus for 115

  • this board is a good investment because it has ivy bridge ready technology next year u can upgrade , have pci express 3.0 installed , board will last you a few years. for the money its great features.

  • @JacobsPCStuff i am gonna get this mobo so bad, do you think a Thermaltake Frio with an I5 2500K would be ok? :D

  • Nice video quality, thanks.

  • I've heard issues with fitting a H60 cooler on this board, is this true?

  • @yoTuuube change settings in the bios. you need an aftermarket fan/liquid cooling to get anything good (fan is fine) there are a lot of guides online, but dont just dive in trying to do it without research, you'll fry your i5

  • how am I supposed to connect a sata 2 harddisk to a sata 3 hard disk port? Could I have done it with the sata 3 cable connectors instead of the sata 2 cable connectors?

  • Comment removed

  • @OveRSwE Should fit fine

  • I've ordered in 6 of these to sell but won't be selling until january, thinking of selling for £94.99 contact me if you're interested I can sell within the next 2 weeks if anyone is interested

  • Disregard my last comment, just watched the vid again and saw SATA III 6Gb

  • Does this mobo come with SATA I or SATA II cables

  • I noticed I have similar Mobo, does this build look good? Case: Cooler MAster Storm Scout - $ 85 CPU: Intel Core i5-2500k Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz - $220 Mobo: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 LGA 1155 - $125 GPU: Gygabyte GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) - $230 Free: Batman Game-Deal RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2x4GB) - $50 PSU: OCZ ZS Series OCZ-ZS750W - $100 HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200 SATA 6.GB - $120 H-Sink: Cooler MAster Hyper 212 Plus - $26 ROM: Asus DVD Drive SATA - $20 Total = 965.91
  • @corpus26 I just ordered pretty much the same parts as you, except I went all out and got an Nvidia 580 GTX, and Corair Vengeance ram. I also went with a solid state card, a Corsair for loading windows onto it.

Your build looks great overall, I'd go with a 570 GTX over a 560Ti, but that's just me.

  • @corpus26 Looks great go for it.

  • @JacobsPCStuff

at the bottem of the board that white square is that the bios chip and is it removable ?

  • @yoTuuube Yes I have overclocked my 2600k on it and have gotten it as high as 5ghz

  • @JacobsPCStuff Nice done! Wondering what kinde of CPU cooling system do you use?

  • @JacobsPCStuff the question was how, not how much did you get

  • @JacobsPCStuff what cooler you have?

  • Are the chipset heatsinks a problem? I plan on getting this with a hyper 212+ and I'm not sure on whether it would fit.

  • @chuffsoner If it helps, I run a Noctura NH-D14 Cooler; and it is that excessively large that it covers all my Ram slots as well as a lot of other things around the CPU area

  • @chuffsoner i just ordered this board and a nice i5 3.1 to slam into her , heat sinks look very good solid, good reviews this board

  • does this board have 3pin or 4pin fan headers cause my cpu fan is 4pinand even though there is supposed to be backwards compatibility. it sets the fan to min speed

(could be possibly bad or instant silencing win)

  • @SsjJesusMechaMuhamed No problems with regular overclocking up towards 5ghz; then you really have to know what you're doing when you hit 5

  • @JacobsPCStuff Awesome, i just got this board + an i5 2500k, (my old core 2 duo isnt cutting it for bf3 cause its a dual core. oh well!) and i was hoping for 4.6-4.8 on this board!

  • Where do you put the LED switches, power switches?

  • Ty so much for this vid!!

  • Thank's to you im getting this :)

  • What's the most stable or best overclock you were able to get

  • @Fragger420 5ghz on my 2600k, 5.1 just froze and killed my windows session

  • @JacobsPCStuff HELP the motherboard wont read my GPU I have a ATI 6850 HD but it wont shop up on device manager and plug and play also when i install the driver it says warnings occured during installation

  • @MajorLeagueChronic that probably has to do with your drivers, radeons have bad driver issues

  • @JacobsPCStuff

    greedy :P !

  • The last time I had a ASRock board the RAM slots where slow. What score does this board get in 'WEI' and with what RAM? (e.g: Wei 7.8 1600MHz 8.8.8.24)

  • you are sop fucking excited that your han's are freaking shakin lol. It's only a board man chillout.

  • @laruspener excited as you were when typing that comment out lol?

  • Just a tip nice review but go through the books and all that rubish faster.... no one cares about that rubbish bring on the hardware!

  • can i put pci e 2.0 graphicks card on it?

  • @MrAben1995 Yes, it is just saying that the board is compatible with 3.0 also

  • 100% backward compatible with PCIE 2.1 - 2.0 - 1.0 :)

  • Hi there Jacob. I just bought this board along with a 2500K CPU to keep it company, to upgrade/replace my old X3360 Quad Core setup. (I plan on reusing my Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme heatsink.) Have you had a chance to do any overclocking with this board, and if so, what are your impressions with it?

  • @9b8 My Impressions regarding overclocking is that you stick to the BIOS configurations rather than the included utilities on the software disk. It is fairly simple in the nice looking BIOS to actually overclock your CPU and there are pre-configured ratio settings to set your CPU clock to as well as every other feature you need.

  • It never fails to amaze me how many people do not use any form of anti static earthing whilst handling pc components. You run the very real risk of killing a motherboard by handling it this way.It wont happen straight away but could take a month or 2, maybe even 3 then one day the pc will just die and you will be blaming the maker of the product rather than knowing it was you that caused it.

Just touching the case or some other earth point before handling the component is not good enough.

  • would this motherboard be good for gtx 580 sli??

  • @charlivoo yes it will be good for 580 sli

  • @charlivoo better then any other board ,seriously.

    2x PC!-E 3.0 x16 :)

  • I bought this luxury Motherboard. Yeah

  • will this fit in an antec 1200 case?

  • @town011 Definatly, I'm not even putting this board in a full size tower myself, mine is in a mid-tower so yours should fit no problem

  • @JacobsPCStuff thanks for the reply! nice unboxing btw.

  • Damn looks sexy and the price is good!

  • could I use a AMD phenom II X6 1090T black edition processor with this mobo?

  • @xtredxdudex No, Depends on the socket. Get a i5 2500k which is around 40 - 50 $ + And it will fit. Check out AM3 Sockets which are the ones who fit with the Mobo. Btw AM3+ is compatible with the 1090T and 1100T

  • @xtredxdudex no

  • Well got mine thanks to this review - typing on the machine its in now. Apart from the disk i/o bottleneck (havent got the SSD's yet), it goes well. Have overclocked my i2500K to 4.5ghz. It'll do more but with voltage levels (1.4's) that I dont think are suitable for 24/7 operation. I like how asrock have the buttons on the board so you can do a pre case install test on the coffee table :P

  • So basically, with a BIOS/drivers update this board will support Ivy Bridge, right?

  • @CrissBlackHawk Yep, Ivybridge ready.

  • Is there a big difference between this mobo and the extreme 4 gen 3???

  • @meloveskate In terms of functionality and compatibility of what it does - it is still a motherboard in the end. It has Sata3, USB3 and overclocking functionality. From what I would guess the only difference that would *really* matter would be the pricing.

  • @JacobsPCStuff this better then the asus P8Z68-V LE motherboard which is 10 dollars more then the extreme 3

  • @meloveskate They're exactly the same aside from USB 3.0 Headers. While the Extreme4 has a USB3.0 header for front panel USB 3.0 jacks, this one does not.

  • Whats different about OCing with this mobo aside from a P67 Asus board. I'm kind of new to the whole mobo/ocing but I'm currently determining if I want to upgrade to a 2500k.

  • @ThePhuzz Nothing is really different with the overclocking on this board, it just for some reason does not like overclocking in the bios and the software at the same time - I have found it difficult so far in terms of "which overclock spec should I read??" (is what the PC would say) type of thing..

Pretty much overclock one way or the other with this board itself, BIOS or Software; not both

  • Could you recommend me this motherboard? I'm going to make a i7-2600k build, and i just saw this motherboard, and checked up the price.. Very nice price

  • @PhotoshopStefan I'm on a 2600k build with this board right now; it's pretty good. In terms of overclocking it is a bit unusual (with its tweaking utility software vs. BIOS overclocking

Its fan headers are in an awkward position on the board but I've managed to deal with it, it is also a reasonable price and can hit the high clocks the 2600k likes to see

  • @JacobsPCStuff ahh okay, thx.. I'm gonna buy this board for mig 2600k build then :D

  • Thanks for such a detailed review - I'll be picking one of these up to go with my upgrade. Going to drop a 2500K into it under water, and oc the crap out of it, using 16Gb Corsair ram and 2 OCZ agility 3 60 gig SSD's in raid 0 :)

  • very good unboxing with lots of detail and information, good job :D
