Why didn't NBC just leave well enough alone in early '99?? They may not have been ratings-grabbers by the standards of the day, but AW wasn't even the lowest rated show and it had some of the best actors on television and SUNSET was just getting off the ground with a fan following overseas! Why these gems were sacrificed for the pointless PASSIONS I'll never understand. I miss the late 90's NBC soap line-up - short-lived as it was. :(

lmao holy crap so many memories, the ben/derrick storylines were my favorite good vs. evil twin. Meg, was a biatch, maria and ben should of gotten together. And Antonio should of stayed with gabby. and ricardo should of gotten back together with paula, damn i remember this lol. this soap helped make PAssions the soap it was!

I would love to see the episodes again! I remember I was crazy about this show back in the day. It would be great to have a chance to see some of it again... I remember so much about Vanessa and the Martin-syndrom and Franchesca and all the jewels, Olivia and Cole having an affair in that cave, all the earth-quakes etc... it's an awesome show!

The reason why NBC cancelled Sunset Beach was when they came out with the show Later Today that aired right after Today all the NBC stations changed Sunset Beaches times most changed the times too midnight or 1am. No one will watch a soap that late unless its on soapnet. Well I am glad it ended on a good note and Meg married Ben and you notice the show ended on New Years 1999/2000. Sunset Beack will forever live in our hearts.

THAT was how it ended, that was poor! I loved this soap and then someone told me it ended as a dream and I thought they were joking, that just ruins Sunset beach because all you remember is, no matter how scandolous it was, it was JUST a dream.

Um... CLEARLY you weren't paying attention. Sunset Beach was not the dream. The dream was that she was back in Ludlow. Sunset Beach was real. It was a double-bluff to make all the fans freak out, but in the end everything was ok.
