Everyone keeps saying Spainish is an easy language to learn, however I found it difficult! It's the same problem I have with Russian - some of their letters look like letters in the english alphabet, but have completely different sounds! I feel so silly because it throws me off so much. :(

The point isthat spanish is a romanic language while english and german are germanic ones.
In the other hand english has 16(I think) vowels while spanish has only 5.
We have the same problem when we speak english xD

The romanic languages are Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Rumanian.
Moreover there are other minority romanic languages like Catalan, Occitan, Galego, etc.
Note that some english words have some romanic roots, of normandic origins(more or less from french)
but it's considered germanic due to the most of its vocabulary, grammar, and pronounciation.

Me encantaría que el himno español tuviera letra, pero actualmente no es así. Esta letra es posterior a la música, se cantaba durante la dictadura pero nunca llegó a calar.
I'd love that the national anthem of Spain had lyirics, but that's not true by now. This lyrics were sung during the dictatorship, but were never accepted by spaniards.
