While there is some truth to what you said, if the Argentines were at FULL strength and Maradona played like he did in '86, the Germans would not have the game on a dubious penalty kick.

The Germans played well the first half, but then resorted to play acting and Voeller definitely was playing for the penalty call. Even Brehme said after the game, that that was not a penalty.

Of course, Argentina did not help themselves by not attacking more in the second half.

This is a very bad video summary. i saw the whole game @ 1990. Argentina played very destructive and had no real chance to force a goal. This videos shows the keyparts of this match and mostly it were wrong referee decision. This match was not only fixed but Argentina played understrengthed as many players were either sent off or suspended (Cannigia and Balbo among others). Argentina therefore had to start with an mediocre forward like Dezotti (who would be the only forward on the field for Argentina). It focuses on 12 minutes of the game and leaves out 3 very good shots by the Germans and a clear penalty for Germany which wasn't given by the referee. I agree that Völler and Klinsmann made quite a show, but so did the Argentine players, especially Maradonna, who was completely taken out by Buchwaldt.
