Hey, I've been looking for a certain suppressor, I don't know what it's called, but I do remember is when the suppressor is on the weapon, it looks like its integrated into the weapon, even though it isn't. It covers the entire outer barrel of the weapon as well as extends out past the natural end of the gun. If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about, or knows who makes something like that, thanks.

@DoctorAsshole1 Wrong. This is a suppressor. You have suppressor and silencer mixed up. A silencer makes practically NO sound at all, while a suppressor simply reduces the back pressure and lowers the sound made by a few decibels. You can still hear the gun pretty well, and the suppressor is pretty small so you can tell it's not a silencer. Silencers are MUCH longer than this, and cost a lot more. Plus, you have to use special rounds for a silencer to work. I own this same thing
@TrackStar828 Good Lord... "Silencer" is the same thing as "Suppressor"... You may own the "same thing", but I SELL the same things... (I've also owned a large number of firearms, C3 and not). It's called a "suppressor" because it DOES NOT SILENCE a shot, even when it's an "integral suppressor" (i.e. Hi-Standard .22 or MP5SDx), although with subsonic ammunition it IS very quiet.
Oh, a suppressor CAN be used with supersonic ammunition, it makes it VERY difficult to hear the shooter
@antiflag1080 You are wrong, once again. Silencers are used to silence the sound of the weapon's discharge. Suppressors are used to reduce or eliminate the muzzle flash of the weapon. By default, it has some ability to retard the sound of the weapon firing, but isn't specifically designed to reduce or eliminate sound. All in all, suppressors and silencers are different. I wouldn't buy anything from you with the ignorance about guns you are displaying to me.
@TrackStar828 I think you're mistaken. A flash suppressor will reduce the flash, but not the sound. A silencer/suppressor is the same thing. On the ATF paperwork they are called 'silencers', but people also refer to them as suppressors. However, a flash suppressor is not a sound suppressor. You might want to be a little more educated on your terms before you start being so accusatory with your comments.
@Lekotheshaman Eh, I got a little confused. Understood, I think I was pissed off when I made that comment so my apologies. Thanks for the clarification.
@antiflag1080 (part 2 of my comment) Oh and yes silencers don't eliminate the sound of the bullet, there is still a slight cracking sound with certain weapons. If you honestly believe silencers and suppressors are the same, you have some issues brother. They are used FOR DIFFERENT THINGS. Please, quit your job of selling guns or whatever. You have no idea what you are talking about.
@antiflag1080 Before you reply, I think we are talking about two different things. I am referring to flash suppressors, whilst you are talking about silencers/suppressors. Yes, they are the same thing, but flash suppressors are different from "silencers" or suppressors. It gets confusing arguing over the internet.
@MajorLiteral Just because he is hitting the target consistently doesnt mean he could be either SF or SFSG. For all we know that metal/steel target could be10'x10' lol. Not trying to rant on you but everyone thinks the target is 1x1 or something
@secretpolice Well you can see him moving slightly on the split second intervals of when he doesnt fire. Shows that there are targets lined up next to each other. Plus he handles the recoil ridiculously well and scans his targets in the same position when he has finished firing, this is something the SF and SFSG drill into their operatives heads.
@xsychosis to bad thats not a suppressor, its a silencer. dont get confused... suppressor suppresses the muzzle flash... silencer silences the weapon.. go on and question me
@bigplayer2382 Suppressor and silencer are terms that are often used interchangeably. If you were to say just suppressor, it refers to a sound suppressor - search the word suppressor in google and see what you get for results. A flash suppressor will help reduce the flash of a weapon in low light conditions. If anyone is confused here, it's you.
@Lekotheshaman no your stupid... sound suppressor and silencer can be used interchangeably but when you say normally just "suppressor", its referring to flash suppressor. HENCE why its called a silencer/sound suppressor anywhere and everywhere not "suppressor"
@bigplayer2382 If it's a silencer then why isn't it silent? I was under the impression that a flash suppressor is for muzzle flash only and a suppressor is for both muzzle flash and suppressing the decibel level of the shot. I've also seen "experts" correcting people for years when they call it a silencer. But most of all, in the movie "The A-Team" they say "it's a suppressor, not a silencer"!!!
@sgunn911 dear god, your basing your arguement on another impossible movie that relates NOTHING to real life.. and also based on your arguement that meants there is a type of silencer that does not hide the muzzle flash.. which is impossible. like i said.. ill call your "expert" and ill raise you military infantry service -.-
@leemillar141 The rifle or suppressor? The suppressor is about $1000 - $800 + $200 in taxes, plus whatever transfer fees a dealer would charge. A mil-spec M4 will be around $1000 as well, add about $400 for a KAC RAS, Magpul stock & grip, and whatever other little add ons. The Aimpoint and LaRue mount is about $500. All total you're looking around $3000 for the setup.
@Hurricane810kr I recommend you search and assess your targets (like look left and right) while keeping breaking your cheek weld on the stock of the gun. If you stayed fixed in the tube your unfortunately losing situational awareness like having tunnel vision. Still impressive shooting though, I like your consistent trigger pulls.
@songofthebong A Colt 6920 is about as basic as it gets if you want a 'milspec' 16" carbine for around $1000. You can buy or build your own for a little cheaper and get the same reliability with some research and get the furniture/sights/grip/trigger/etc. that you want.
@metalfrommaine That's not technically true. In the U.S. anyone that can legally own a firearm can legally own a suppressor, you do not need an FFL. What you DO need is a completed ATF Form 4 and the tax stamp. It is a $200 tax stamp for any Class III (NFA) Weapon. It's a hurdle to jump through but it can be painlessly done.
@leemillar141 I would say "Hurricane810kr" is about right, but having worked in Class3 Weapons Sales, let me make some notes... RIFLE (all +$200 tax) Colt Military M4 - $1.5-5.5k Rock River Arms 14.5" "M4" - $3000 H&K HK416 10.4/14.5" - $7500-15,000 SUPPRESSOR Knights Armaments - $1.2k-$2k Gemtech - $800-1200 RAIL K.A. RIS - $400 SIGHT EOTech EXPS3 - $500 ($1k w magnifier) Aimpoint - $375-900 FOREGRIP GG&G - $50 SureFire M900 - $450-600 TRAINING **PRICELESS** GUNS =/= TOYS
@leemillar141 the US government gets their colt m4a1s for dirt cheap compared to what us civies get them for. I've "heard of " some Feds taking turns unloading whole mags on full auto to see how close they could get their groups. Burn through barrels in no time like this.
@leemillar141 Dont get it unless u like your gun to jam up over a spec of dust get a HK416 they run through mud, sand, water, and still shoot perfectly not jaming, cloging, or blowing up in your face. and they Rate of fire is really fast 900 rounds per minute!
There is so much venom here, why are people so defensive about whether or not this is 5.56 or 22lr? I have shot many different firearms and own several and to be honest it looked like 22LR but now I am leaning towards 5.56.
The inability to hear the sonic crack of the round + reliable cycle of the action was what had me leaning towards 22LR, on top of low recoil. After pausing it on certain frames the brass does look like 5.56 though and the first round you can hear the crack.
that is not .22LR. i have a .22LR conversion on one of my ARs and that recoil impulse is not .22LR. .22LR out of the AR platform is practically recoil-less. plus you don't see an adapter on that mag.
@pwnage696969 Wat. This is real life. A suppressor does not magically eliminate all sound from a gun. This is not Counterstrike, this is not Hollywood.
@pwnage696969 Real life, silencers don't get rid of that supersonic crack from the rounds without subsonic ammo. That supersonic crack will damage your hearing.
I don't know whether or not this particular rifle is actually 22 rimfire or not and I don't really care, however, it is possible to get a lot of recoil out of a 22 LR round when using a 22 LR adapter that has a floating chamber. Carbine Williams invented this back in the WWII for the military so that they could use 22 LR in training rifles and still have the normal recoil of the round it was replacing. Many 22 LR adapter kits use the floating chamber for the same reason.
@aaron54880 wow, what is a floating chamber anyway? The chamber is permanently attached to the end of the barrel on an AR, if it moved there would be a lot of trouble... I routinely shoot my dedicated 22 upper and there is virtually no recoil at all. When you make comments like this, you should realize that people who know what they are talking about know that you do not.
@aaron54880 Thanks but I don't need to look up anything on wikepedia like some people. 22LR has only so much impulse, a 22LR has little or no recoil, even on pistols, let alone rifles. Again, every time you quote wikipedia to show how much "knowledge" you have you look more ridiculous, quit now. I saw the movie too, Jimmy Stewart was great. The original point is that your original post is quoted directly from Wikipedia. Reading Wikipedia doesn't make you smart.
@beaker2000 So what you're saying is that you can't be persuaded by facts. Wikipedia is by no means the only source of information. I read an excellent article in Small Arms Review many years ago discussing the mechanism. The fact that you refuse to look up anything that proves your wrong only serves to demonstrate your complete ignorance, particularly regarding firearms. If you pulled your head out of your butt and read something on the device, you'd see how it creates more recoil.
@aaron54880 No I am saying that I can't be persuaded by people who have no idea what they are talking about and regurgitate things from Wikipedia to try and convince people they know what they are talking about. You are taking information out of context and passing it off as knowledge. Come back when you know what that means.
@beaker2000 All learning is effectively regurgitation. A person learns something and they repeat it. I'd never read the wikipedia article until i referenced it so that you could learn. I take an interest in fire arms and read many things. I stated earlier where i had originally read about the Floating Chamber device and its intended purpose for training. I'll repeat. I read the article in Small Arms Review. Ignorance is bliss, however, and you prefer to remain blissful.
The floating chamber was the invention of “Carbine” Williams, the same guy that designed the M1 Carbine. This system was also used in the old Colt Ace pistol and allowed the full-sized weapon to cycle with .22 ammo and give enough recoil to make it a useful training tool.
Continued.. It also allowed much more practice for the same amount of money and was quite popular with cost-conscious shooters and well as new shooters who had trouble managing the recoil of the full-blown .45 ACP round. This conversion concept is alive and well today with the Ciener conversions that we sell for the 1911, Browning High Power, Beretta, and others.
David Marshall Williams (a noted designer for the U.S. Ordnance Office and later Winchester) developed a mechanism to allow firearms designed for full-sized cartridges to fire .22 caliber rimfire ammunition reliably. His system used a small 'piston' that incorporates the chamber. When the cartridge is fired, the front of the piston is thrust back with the cartridge giving a significant push to the bolt.
@beaker2000 Often described as accelerated blowback, this amplifies the otherwise anemic recoil energy of the .22 rimfire cartridge.[21] Williams designed a training version of the Browning machine gun and the Colt Service Ace .22 long rifle version of the M1911 using his system. The floating chamber is both a blowback and gas operated mechanism.[
@Hurricane810kr Its not a real suppressor, its not that much noise and theres hardly any recoil. I don't know of any .22lr firearms that use a locking device. They're all blowback. You can see the little casings in the air. Its pretty obvious that its using rimfire ammunition.
@TurbodanNM Not a real suppressor? How did you arrive at that conclusion Enrico Fermi? Have you ever shot a M4? Have you ever shot a suppressed M4? You, like the other guy, have no idea what you're talking about.
@Hurricane810kr Its a low quality video, but it sure looks like .22 casings ejecting. Who gives a fuck anyway? You look like a real jackass getting all upset over a youtube video.
@TurbodanNM Thing is, you're wrong. There's no adapter. It's not .22 LR. Stop trying to enforce a non-fact and leave that to those who actually know their shit. Pause the video at exactly 0:09 and you will see there is no adapter. Have a nice day.
@Hurricane810kr I'm going to agree with him because does not matter what it's shooting it's still an m4 and even a 22. is way louder than that and when you post a video of you shooting a m4 then feel free to rub it in my face but otherwise don't troll and hey great video I really want one of these!
@Hurricane810kr Yes there is a conversion on the mag. Yes that is a REAL shitty suppressor. Yes That is an AR-15. Yes that is a 22.LR rifle. Yes that much recoil is present because the but-stock wasn't in his shoulder properly. And YES 2.23/5.56 has little recoil to begin with. ( I guess I'm just used to .270 and 7.62.54R and 50. BMG)
@H3lld0g10 Go play some more COD because you have no idea what you're talking about.... Explain to me how this is a shitty suppressor as well. What 5.56 suppressors have you shot and been able to compare?
At this point there is really no sense in getting so angry, why not just point out why he is wrong in a calm, sophisticated manor, instead of calling him some angry cod player.
@higuything21 I've tried explaining this in a calm, sophisticated way in the past - and was still told otherwise. I've realized most of the comments come for COD players with little trigger time, though now and then someone with some real trigger time will post up. Every COD player seems to know more about firearms than those who use them for work and/or a hobby....
@TurbodanNM 5.56/.223 casings are pretty small...in fact you can see them landing on the ground in front/side of him. .22lr casings would be too small for the camera to see very well.
@TurbodanNM cant tell if trolling, or just plain stupid. look at the brass as it hits the ground, its 5.56mm or .233cal, pick your poison. I have shot many M4s, and a few with various suppressors. this video is legit, you have failed. that isn't the .22 mag adapter, that is a 30 round USGI mag. you are just jealous that he unleashed the beast on this range, as you can tell by the rounds hitting the steel with a satisfying PING. go back to your call of duty.
@LackaLackaLacka I thought the top of the mag looked like that, too, but I'm sure it's just a compression artifact. In fact, when I downloaded the clip with Real and looked at it frame by frame, the magazine looked totally normal. Besides, like Hurricane810kr said, there's no way a .22 LR would have that much recoil.
@LackaLackaLacka There is no such thing as .22 adapters for magazines so I'm not sure where you pulled that bit of knowledge from. There are conversion bolts, but you need special 22 magazines since a 223 round is huge compared to 22LR and you can't adapt the mags. He pulled a USGI mag out of the magwell. He was shooting .223. People who have absolutely no first hand knowledge of things shouldn't post about them like they do. Maybe you can get the unlock for .22LR magazine adapters on xbox.

Lekotheshaman 1 week ago
@Lekotheshaman no your stupid... sound suppressor and silencer can be used interchangeably but when you say normally just "suppressor", its referring to flash suppressor. HENCE why its called a silencer/sound suppressor anywhere and everywhere not "suppressor"
bigplayer2382 1 week ago
@bigplayer2382 If it's a silencer then why isn't it silent? I was under the impression that a flash suppressor is for muzzle flash only and a suppressor is for both muzzle flash and suppressing the decibel level of the shot. I've also seen "experts" correcting people for years when they call it a silencer. But most of all, in the movie "The A-Team" they say "it's a suppressor, not a silencer"!!!
sgunn911 1 week ago
@sgunn911 dear god, your basing your arguement on another impossible movie that relates NOTHING to real life.. and also based on your arguement that meants there is a type of silencer that does not hide the muzzle flash.. which is impossible. like i said.. ill call your "expert" and ill raise you military infantry service -.-

leemillar141 2 months ago 15
@leemillar141 The rifle or suppressor? The suppressor is about $1000 - $800 + $200 in taxes, plus whatever transfer fees a dealer would charge. A mil-spec M4 will be around $1000 as well, add about $400 for a KAC RAS, Magpul stock & grip, and whatever other little add ons. The Aimpoint and LaRue mount is about $500. All total you're looking around $3000 for the setup.

metalfrommaine 1 week ago
@metalfrommaine That's not technically true. In the U.S. anyone that can legally own a firearm can legally own a suppressor, you do not need an FFL. What you DO need is a completed ATF Form 4 and the tax stamp. It is a $200 tax stamp for any Class III (NFA) Weapon. It's a hurdle to jump through but it can be painlessly done.

This is 5.56 you can tell because the casings are way to long for a .22 and the target is making alot of noise for a .22 so it is chambered in 5.56
ak47proshooter 2 months ago
There is so much venom here, why are people so defensive about whether or not this is 5.56 or 22lr? I have shot many different firearms and own several and to be honest it looked like 22LR but now I am leaning towards 5.56.
The inability to hear the sonic crack of the round + reliable cycle of the action was what had me leaning towards 22LR, on top of low recoil. After pausing it on certain frames the brass does look like 5.56 though and the first round you can hear the crack.

Many 22 LR adapter kits use the floating chamber for the same reason.
aaron54880 2 months ago
@aaron54880 wow, what is a floating chamber anyway? The chamber is permanently attached to the end of the barrel on an AR, if it moved there would be a lot of trouble... I routinely shoot my dedicated 22 upper and there is virtually no recoil at all. When you make comments like this, you should realize that people who know what they are talking about know that you do not.
beaker2000 2 months ago

Try looking up the floating chamber on Wikipedia. I'm afraid that you're the one who knows nothing of firearms.

aaron54880 2 months ago
@aaron54880 Thanks but I don't need to look up anything on wikepedia like some people. 22LR has only so much impulse, a 22LR has little or no recoil, even on pistols, let alone rifles. Again, every time you quote wikipedia to show how much "knowledge" you have you look more ridiculous, quit now. I saw the movie too, Jimmy Stewart was great. The original point is that your original post is quoted directly from Wikipedia. Reading Wikipedia doesn't make you smart.
beaker2000 2 months ago
@beaker2000 So what you're saying is that you can't be persuaded by facts. Wikipedia is by no means the only source of information. I read an excellent article in Small Arms Review many years ago discussing the mechanism. The fact that you refuse to look up anything that proves your wrong only serves to demonstrate your complete ignorance, particularly regarding firearms. If you pulled your head out of your butt and read something on the device, you'd see how it creates more recoil.
aaron54880 2 months ago
@aaron54880 No I am saying that I can't be persuaded by people who have no idea what they are talking about and regurgitate things from Wikipedia to try and convince people they know what they are talking about. You are taking information out of context and passing it off as knowledge. Come back when you know what that means.
beaker2000 2 months ago
@beaker2000 All learning is effectively regurgitation. A person learns something and they repeat it. I'd never read the wikipedia article until i referenced it so that you could learn. I take an interest in fire arms and read many things. I stated earlier where i had originally read about the Floating Chamber device and its intended purpose for training. I'll repeat. I read the article in Small Arms Review. Ignorance is bliss, however, and you prefer to remain blissful.
aaron54880 2 months ago
@beaker2000 By the way, i've never seen the movie. My understanding is that it's not factually correct. You should love it.
aaron54880 2 months ago
@beaker2000 From Brownell's site
The floating chamber was the invention of “Carbine” Williams, the same guy that designed the M1 Carbine. This system was also used in the old Colt Ace pistol and allowed the full-sized weapon to cycle with .22 ammo and give enough recoil to make it a useful training tool.
aaron54880 2 months ago
Continued.. It also allowed much more practice for the same amount of money and was quite popular with cost-conscious shooters and well as new shooters who had trouble managing the recoil of the full-blown .45 ACP round. This conversion concept is alive and well today with the Ciener conversions that we sell for the 1911, Browning High Power, Beretta, and others.
aaron54880 2 months ago
@beaker2000 Floating chamber

Hurricane810kr 2 months ago 23
@Hurricane810kr Its not a real suppressor, its not that much noise and theres hardly any recoil. I don't know of any .22lr firearms that use a locking device. They're all blowback. You can see the little casings in the air. Its pretty obvious that its using rimfire ammunition.
TurbodanNM 2 months ago

@Hurricane810kr Yes there is a conversion on the mag. Yes that is a REAL shitty suppressor. Yes That is an AR-15. Yes that is a 22.LR rifle. Yes that much recoil is present because the but-stock wasn't in his shoulder properly. And YES 2.23/5.56 has little recoil to begin with. ( I guess I'm just used to .270 and 7.62.54R and 50. BMG)

You're an idiot. There is no such thing as a ".22 long rifle adapter" for a standard USGI magazine seen in the video.
pbauw 2 months ago
@LackaLackaLacka There is no such thing as .22 adapters for magazines so I'm not sure where you pulled that bit of knowledge from. There are conversion bolts, but you need special 22 magazines since a 223 round is huge compared to 22LR and you can't adapt the mags. He pulled a USGI mag out of the magwell. He was shooting .223. People who have absolutely no first hand knowledge of things shouldn't post about them like they do. Maybe you can get the unlock for .22LR magazine adapters on xbox.
