no offense here but the prius did do pretty good compare to the jetta and plus the prius carries and extra weight of electric motor and battery. prius is not a racing car but it it did good.
Not that it isn't possible to build an electric that would blow the doors off of either of them. (The Prius is built for midrange performance.)
If you think that electric motors can't deliver large amounts of power, consider a diesel locomotive—which is a discrete electric hybrid (i.e. combustion engine driving a generator, driving electric motors).
But the point of this video (other than being a thinly veiled VW ad) is that diesel powered vehicles are not necessarily wimpy. :)
Well that just goes to show how much of a fucking idiot you are. Just because its diesel doesn't mean its not green. Hell, some diesel cars are more green than the prius could ever hope to be.
Guess what, ALL cars have batteries, so you can't say that in the first place, 2nd off, if they didn't make Prius' you think Sudbury would just close up? NO, since it was here LONG before Hybrids were even thought of.
The prius has the computer system which limits the slip on the wheels thats why it won't burnout. From here u can tell the Jetta's technology aint as good as the prius
Whats with the guy flipping out like that over a burnout???
Riddlin anyone?

Yes, it did...and if you notice all the fine print on the tdi. shows that all the electronics are off, which you can't do in a prius.
Notice the graph shows a HUGE differance but the numbers really aren't all that far apart. lol

wow, most useless test I've ever seen done.
First thing wrong is that they didn't use the same driver for both cars.
Take the turbo off the vw and lets see what performance it gets. :D
fast55chev 2 years ago
without the turbo it would still be faster then the prius.

Come on people! The Jetta runs on DIESEL! The prius on GASOLINE! The Jetta isn't even CLOSE to being as green as the prius is!
Yes, it looks better. Yes its faster. Of course its COOLER than the prius! But this is NOT the point of the prius!
People know this.

wrong. you have to include the diesel refinment, which is dirty on it's own.

Like the acid rain that comes from making batteries is any better.

Not all cars have as many batteries as the prius, and who cares about Sudbury?
Surkis 2 years ago
lol, wow your stupid, who cares about Sudbury, apparently you do.
Read your first comment.
All car batteries start in the same place as the hybrids...
